Adultery, Divorce, Teenage pregnancies…what will John McCain have the “conservatives” defending next?
alphie on September 2, 2008 at 12:51 AM
Izvenit…er…sorry. :-D
Slublog on September 2, 2008 at 12:51 AM
Yeah, we know. Move on.
fossten on September 2, 2008 at 12:52 AM
Fixed.
Loxodonta on September 2, 2008 at 12:52 AM
It certainly won’t be your competency hearing.
GoodBoy on September 2, 2008 at 12:52 AM
Of all the luck. I went out of my way to make a rather good argument about the strategic way we’ve been going about regarding Gov Palin’s daughter and the whole pregnancy issue, but then I had the unfortunate encounter with my ISP deciding to take a nice internet ciesta over the next 10 minutes.
Damn it all.

What…? I didn’t know this.

fossten on September 2, 2008 at 12:53 AM
Freevillage is just pissed because Bristol Palin didn’t do things the Russian way and have the child aborted.
Hell in 2006 abortions outnumbered live births in Russia.
Mike Honcho on September 2, 2008 at 12:53 AM
Lynn Cheney is GAY!?!
You’re kidding me?
Wow when did this happen?
sven10077 on September 2, 2008 at 12:54 AM
He never knew his name, it was through a hole in the wall.
Seriously, it’s good that he didn’t have sex until he was in his 20′s. Of course, it wasn’t his choice, his mama told him not to.
john1schn on September 2, 2008 at 12:54 AM
It’s perfectly ok to make fun of homosexuality. I think so, too. I think we didn’t have enough fun when Cheney was running. I hope we won’t make the same mistake again now that we have an underage who can’t keep her legs together.

Ivan had some neat ideas on sex….
sven10077 on September 2, 2008 at 12:55 AM
See? When you parent, your kids have no choice. Again, my point is simple. Everybody should know that this is what the moral values crowd thinks.
freevillage on September 2, 2008 at 12:55 AM
Which is beside the point. Who was the lucky guy?
Jim Treacher on September 2, 2008 at 12:56 AM
it’s all about choice*
*unless you make the wrong choice….
you’re not worthy of the first 4 letters in your handle moonbat
sven10077 on September 2, 2008 at 12:56 AM
I have the solution to this and every other perplexing problem in modern politics. Everybody and their entire lives are fair game. We just plug everyone up to a lie detector and ask the most embarrassing questions ever…
This is much to do about nothing and solely for character assassination …pure and simple.
Sarah Palin is the best political figure to grace our mists in decades, possibly a century or more.
Her percipient approach to governance upsets the libs so much they will stop at nothing to destroy her.
What’s humorous here is that they will further erode what’s left of their own credibility in the process…
Once she is VP she may fight to revisit the endangered species act and lobby for their survival, because she and her daughter value life, even the lowest forms that exist, of that I am sure.
jerrytbg on September 2, 2008 at 12:56 AM
bollox….
the issue is as stated striving to live up to a moral code…you lack that you wind up with institutionalized mail-order brides as a cultural sacrament and sex as a party favor with abortions being a form of hard birth control….
well you likely know this comrade.
sven10077 on September 2, 2008 at 12:58 AM
Well, good night everybody….gotten a little off kilter in here anyway :-)
funky chicken on September 2, 2008 at 12:58 AM
What…? Millenium was kinda pushing it? Go ahead. It’s ok.
Sarah Palin is the best politician in millenia. Looks much more impressive and is just as true.
freevillage on September 2, 2008 at 12:58 AM
You really are a piece of crap. Really. I hope Ed bans the hell out of you.
fossten on September 2, 2008 at 1:00 AM
how’s you feel about your neo Peter the Great saving those journalists today comrade?
sven10077 on September 2, 2008 at 1:00 AM
My, what thin skin we have. What makes you think he was making fun?
Project much?
Purple Fury on September 2, 2008 at 1:00 AM
Though that may be true on the level of motivation and intention, but the efforts of a few self-important lefty bloggers and a few contingents of trolls to brew up a “meltdown” scenario don’t amount to much. This, too, shall pass.
CK MacLeod on September 2, 2008 at 1:00 AM
Ace of Spades is tracking website IPs – seems lots of the worst sites are possibly related to Obambi’s campaign.
Also wasn’t Obambi conceived out of wedlock, and also his own first daughter?
rigdown on September 2, 2008 at 1:01 AM
bullshit. the kids always have a choice. We as parents show them as best we can, and we go from there. I’ve got two kids who have had the best role models in the world to avoid early pregnancy. No, not me, two cousins who decided that getting knocked up at 16 would be just the fabulous thing to do.
BZZZZZZZZZ! Wrong answer! They burned through two spouses before they were 21, and have resigned all responsibility to taking care of the kids they’ve brought into the world.
I’m not saying I’m any more moral than anyone else here. I’m sure I’m not. But I do have a sense of right and wrong, even if I’m not perfectly moral.
john1schn on September 2, 2008 at 1:01 AM
Mark Halperin put everyone on notice early today that the media had to ask questions about Palin that McCain didn’t ask.
As usual, it’s going to be the MSM vs. the conservatives. This is so tiresome. Why do they all remind me of Jerry Springer?
They carried Obama over the finish line during the primaries, let’s hope that McCain/sanity can prevail in November.
r keller on September 2, 2008 at 1:02 AM
There’s nothing wrong with mail-order brides. People in this country write prenups. Their understanding of marriage is commercial anyway. In a country where everyone including women are obese, it’s no wonder people want somebody nice looking to screw. And those girls get a nicer life.
I see no problem with abortion, too. Probably it’s not good to do it too often but it’s their bodies. So long as they are educated, let them do it.
freevillage on September 2, 2008 at 1:03 AM
Here’s this little troll’s argument: since we aim for moral standards, we’re supposed to be perfect. But we’re not perfect, so we must be hypocrits. alphie and the rest of the left don’t have moral standards so they can do anything and not be hypocrits.
So they expect us to be perfect because we aim for moral standards. That’s a realistic expectation right?
alteredbeat on September 2, 2008 at 1:04 AM

Wonder why Larry King live show was different at 9 p.m. and 12 midnight when both screens said “live.”????
At any rate, the shows on Sept 1 at 9 p.m. and then at the midnight hour, show how vicious the left has become.
Travis1 on September 2, 2008 at 1:07 AM
*yawn* Like, REALLY really? Or just really?
We’ll see.

Embarrassing a 17 year old is fine with him, and embarrassing a dullard is fine with me.
Jim Treacher on September 2, 2008 at 1:08 AM
agreed…but I hope it doesn’t pass too soon, we need to expose them.
jerrytbg on September 2, 2008 at 1:08 AM
That’s an excellent point. As Milton said, liberals don’t want freedom; they want license. And, in the case of gay marriage, that’s taken that to its literal extreme. Like the ending of the Wizard of Oz; the symbol becomes the reality; a tiny piece of paper will magically give them everything that’s missing in their lives.
When the moonbat looks up from the soy latte that he’s so desperately hugging and sees REAL people leading REAL lives, he feels REAL pain. And, after a lifetime of being taken in by purveyors of the most seductive cult imaginable – the cult of narcissism – he can’t even imagine, let alone deal with, the obvious fact that the pain comes from within. The rabid, mindless sociopathic hatred – by itself – isn’t the problem. The problem is that the liberal always lashes out at others; he knows no other choice.
logis on September 2, 2008 at 1:09 AM
Quite the opposite altered, if you think you’ll be “forgiven” for everything you do…why have standards at all?
I think that’s being proven out…
alphie on September 2, 2008 at 1:10 AM
Little warning to all Hot Air commenters: This isn’t the first time today someone’s implied Palin’s daughter is a whore. Anyone else who does it is banned straightaway. And if you see anyone do it, I’d appreciate you e-mailing me and letting me know. Comment management is stressed lately with all the traffic.
Allahpundit on September 2, 2008 at 1:11 AM
Eventually we all will.
Now, seriously how difficult is it to just refuse to put a penis inside you when you’re 17? My girlfriend at the time wanted to have sex, and I wouldn’t simply because I didn’t think it was appropriate. Pure sexual arousal can be controlled with porn and masturbation so that at least you know how to get yourself in the mode where you can think about consequences of your more serious actions.
Sounds like a good argument for more sex ed in schools.
freevillage on September 2, 2008 at 1:11 AM

See, AP? You have his permission.
Jim Treacher on September 2, 2008 at 1:14 AM
That’s right. Never. And consider “republican” to be mostly a dirty word.
This is false. I prefer strongly McCain to Obama.
freevillage on September 2, 2008 at 1:14 AM
That argument was rejected by the apostle Paul. Just because grace is available does not give one license to continually tap it.

Which type of world is George Soros promoting?

Loxodonta on September 2, 2008 at 1:19 AM
And just to make myself clear, I don’t know what “whore” means to a typical American. I may have a slightly incorrect understanding of the word. To me a whore must AT LEAST be indiscriminate in choosing sexual partners. I have never implied that.

jerrytbg on September 2, 2008 at 1:21 AM
Uhm, that can’t be it. Haven’t had sex until 20. Then wasn’t very perfect, but got married at 22 and never cheated. Nah, this should be called something like “pretty good guy”.
freevillage on September 2, 2008 at 1:22 AM
Fixed.
fossten on September 2, 2008 at 1:23 AM
Now folks, let’s be real here.
If the tables were turned a Barry was the one, who’s daughter had a kid. This Blog and every Conservative Blog out there, would be denouncing Obama as a piss poor Father. (and yes, that includes Michelle Malkin.)
don’t get me wrong. I cannot stand Obama. He’s a Marxist/Nazi/socialist of the highest order. But I believe all this fawning and self righteous indignation is a bit hypocritical.
Because we ALL know that if the tables were turned, the outrage would be deafening.
Yes, the Palin scandals matter, all of them. Because the women clearly has no control over her family, she does not have the ethics and judgment to be a Vice President, much less a President.
Not to mention that fact that while she was mayor of her hometown, she about left that town in bankruptcy over a sports center that she tried, but ultimately failed in building.
These things matter to people like me, who are not a formal part of the Republican Party. As a result, I am voting for Bob Barr. Because I don’t like Obama, but clearly, McCain is not a viable alternative. Not at this point, anyhow.
LibertarianConservative on September 2, 2008 at 1:23 AM
Oh I see you’re a liar as well.
alteredbeat on September 2, 2008 at 1:24 AM
You’d be wrong. Allah and Ed wouldn’t put up with that kind of crap. Note the way they treated the whole COLB controversy.
fossten on September 2, 2008 at 1:25 AM
It’s called moral hazard, altered.
It’s human nature to take advantage.
alphie on September 2, 2008 at 1:25 AM
Oh no…You mean to tell me that there could be more of you out there…omg….noooooooo!
jerrytbg on September 2, 2008 at 1:25 AM
I don’t know. I think I can hear you try your best at sucking AP’s d*ck.
As for me, I say what I think openly. Some things are too important, and any censorship there would make leave the board. Others are less important (although still true in my opinion), and I can tolerate some admin pressure there.
So I think we’re all fine here. Unless your knees are hurting…

1. You don’t know your Bible.
2. You don’t know what a Christian is.
fossten on September 2, 2008 at 1:27 AM
This is the main difference between the religions of Christianity and Liberalism. Practitioners of Liberalism aren’t absolved from sin; they are immune from it.
The Church of Liberalism has one and only one Sin: Hypocrisy. As long as they commit themselves to lives of self-congratulatory hedonism, then absolutely NOTHING they ever do can ever be considered wrong.
They’re the people who invented the practice of throwing the first stone.
logis on September 2, 2008 at 1:27 AM
The Daily Kos banned a writer who was in good standing for reporting on the Edwards affair (not to mention countless members for commenting negatively about Edwards). To my knowledge, not even the lunatic commentators here have been axed (yet), and some of them are being extremely disrespectful to a MINOR. Everyone here is given an opportunity, but you should reconsider any direct comparisons between the “citizen journalists” and their puppets at Kos/Huffpo and the more mature folks at Hot Air and her sister blogs.

Gosh people are nasty about Bristol Palin. Plenty of 17 year old girls have had sex, big deal. As a child of the 70s I knew several who got pregnant, some “went to visit family” (gave the baby up for adoption) and some married (some of them are still married, some aren’t)
As I recall Obama’s mother was only a teen when he was born, 18. The parents were married in early february 1961 and Baracky was born in early august 1961…um less that 7 months later. It happens in the best of families.
