Why? I don’t know… we never have before. So I’m guessing there must be a reason why it’s a bad thing.

Government must spend like a drunken monkey because it always has… who knows what could happen if that stops.

I for one find AP’s snark heavy pissing & moaning a perfect counterbalance to Ed’s tentative attempts at levity. The HotAir odd couple just works for me.

Allah has essentially become a waterboy for the NYT.

Once they set upon a path, if they stick to it, there is nothing wrong with making mistakes the first few years.

However, once she became aware of the details, which are never in the initial information package I might add. Usually, you get a sound bite or a small news release. So the details contained the many sour pills that turned her against it.

This is supposed to be bad? Are you joking? I am for immigration reform, but not the version we had submitted by John McCain. I would like to see an Ellis Island style approach to immigration, where the individuals background is checked quickly, medical checks are performed and treatments offered for health issues, especially public health issues, and then Welcome to the United States. I would like to see a years long delay from the time that you entered illegally to the time you were eligible to re-enter and become a citizen. Something like a decade or so. However the current plan that says “Spent several years lying to people and stealing their identities? No problem, Welcome to America and please vote for me. We’ll forget that you completely screwed up their Social Security accounts, their credit record, and whatever happens to them, we don’t give a damn, so long as you’re welcomed right this instant.”

I’d like to see it easier for them to obey the law and enter legally, ending the years long delay to get permission to enter the nation and start on the path to citizenship. I like the idea of Immigrants, legal immigrants. My ancestors were immigrants, as were everyone else who is here now. Including the Indians sorry Native Americans. They didn’t appear here by magic, their ancestors trekked here too.

Does that mean I have a history of flip flopping? If it does, then by God I’ll take that.

Initially, my reaction is I feel comfortable with Palin, for a number of reasons. Unlike anyone else running for office, she’s had to work to get where she is, recently worked her ass off. She knows what it’s like to juggle family and career. If I had some assurance that McCain wouldn’t be there for more than a couple years, I’d almost be willing to vote for him.

I think she’s essentially honest, and I think when the cards are on the table, she’ll do what she believes is the right thing, because it’s the right thing. I probably won’t agree with everything she’d do, or say. However I respect those I disagree with if they can show me they are doing what they believe is right. McCain can’t show me that, there is no way he can show me that abridging Freedom of Speech was the right thing in McCain Feingold. He said at the time that we’d have to see what the Supreme Court said about it. Sorry, it says Congress shall pass no law. It doesn’t say that Congress shall pass any old law, and the responsibility for not violating the freedom of speech rests with the court.
