Joe Biden, Hypocrite

posted at 7:40 pm on September 1, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

This pretty much sums up Joe Biden:

This morning, Joe Biden said today was not a day for national politics. He said it again during a roundtable discussion outside his childhood home here this afternoon. But before long, he couldn’t help himself, criticizing McCain for his views on offshore drilling and questioning his foreign policy judgment.

“The only guy in America in a position of some authority who is out of sync with the whole rest of the world is John McCain,” he told a small group of relatives and old family friends. “This Administration, the Iraqis, NATO, the Europeans, our friends around the world, the vast majority of the American people, the Democratic-controlled Congress, Republicans in Congress — they all agree. Barack Obama was right, and John McCain was wrong.”

Biden wants everyone else to refrain from political attacks — except for himself.  While John McCain suspended political operations in the middle of his convention in order to focus on hurricane relief and raising funds for care packages, Biden offers his sanctimony and hypocrisy.

Typical.

Jeez… Joe is the gift that just keeps giving. Kind of like the clap.

I do so hope that Palin rips him a new one in the debates.

What Biden can not figure out is the Surge worked and that is the reason we are in a position to remove our troops. Obama and Biden were dead wrong…..and I wonder if they even realize it.

victoryin83 on September 1, 2008 at 7:44 PM

Why don’t we ask Biden, no, all our local politicians what they have done to measure up to the Palin standard. She fought corruption, sold ego-assets, did more with less, and returned money to the citizens. I can’t think of a single Democrat that has done 10% of what Palin has done. Especially Biden. Mr. Credit Card profit guy.

Biden vs Biden. That’d be a good ad.

Gotta love Biden, he’s the gift that keeps on giving alright. Just another example of his daily “self crank stomping”. He can’t go 24 hours without whippin’ out his crank, and then promptly stepping all over it.

And what, pray tell, was Obama “right” about??? Again with the timeline?

What is it about “withdrawing when conditions on the ground” that this a-hole cannot seem to comprehend?? That’s not what Obama wanted – that’s not what any Democrat (except for Joe Lieberman) wanted…

Will someone please pound this distinction into the man’s plugs???

Tony737 on September 1, 2008 at 7:46 PM

People like to compare Obama to Lincoln. Well, Obama’s VP hopeful would have indeed wished to divide Iraq because he thought that the three religious and ethnic groups couldn’t coexist. And Lincoln fought to keep the union together. And if Biden was around back then, maybe this would have been his great solution as well. If you want to compare people to Lincoln, how about comparing the people who wanted the surge, planned it to help keep the nation together and ultimately get the formerly warring factions to seek tolerance and peace. People such as John McCain. Not you, Biden.

PA Cat on September 1, 2008 at 7:51 PM

“Our friends around the world”? That’s funny. Friends like Kim Jung Il, Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro? Yes, they all agree with Obama and want desperately to see him elected president. And we know why: because they recognize him as a weak-kneed, Carter-like fool who cares more about what “our friends around the world” want than he cares about what’s good for the U.S.

As he does every time he opens his mouth, Biden just demonstrated once again what a dim bulb he is.

Keep yapping, Slow Joe.

AZCoyote on September 1, 2008 at 7:51 PM

Biden was referring to Obama’s call for a timeline for withdrawal … “Barack Obama was ahead of the curve; John McCain is still way behind the curb,”

Hey, Dumbazz, Obama wanted a timeline for withdrawal BEFORE the war had ended in OUR VICTORY! See the difference???

He also said the Republican nominee’s statement that Obama would lose a war to win an election is embarrassing.

Yeah? Embarrassing for WHOM? Your guy Obama, because that Mac is correct in saying that.

Maybe because Biden is a career blow hard political hack who is only good at making speeches and appearing on Sunday News programs to push the propaganda of his political party, and even in times of disaster in America, he can not change who he truly is.

Shout-out to brilliance on Caligula’s horse.

As for Joe Biden, he is the gift of gifts. My only fear is that Geraghty is on to something, and we may see him mysteriously disappear a few weeks hence, followed by an announcement of some vaguely but ominously described medical ailment that forces him, very much against his will, to sideline himself, closely followed, of course, by the announcement that Hillary! will be the vice- co-presidential candidate.

Someone else mentioned that he hoped that Palin memorize the timeline of all of Biden’s failed and wrong decisions. At the debate, she should be able to respond to every time his record comes up when there is a question or that he mentions one of his ‘accomplishments’ that supposedly proves his outstanding resume for the job.

And I hope she does.

When you’re compiling Biden’s list of stupid statements (if anybody has that much computer memory!), don’t forget his moronic idea after 9/11 to send a no-strings-attached gift of $200 million to Iranian mullahs to try and pacify the Muslim world. (I wonder how much that little “gift” would have speeded up their nuclear weapons development program?).

Biden doesn’t even know Barack’s real history. He has swallowed the “raised in Kansas” mythology hook, line, and sinker…or he’s propagating it out of pure dishonesty.

Or as he said in 1988, ”I exaggerate when I’m angry,” Mr. Biden said.

And he offered personal testimony as to Obama’s readiness to be president, and perhaps as importantly, his personal qualities. “I promise you, my word as a Biden — if Barack grew up in our neighborhood like he did in Kansas [sic] being raised by his grandparents, if he grew up here being raised by his grandparents, he’d have been our friend,” he said. “He’d cover your back.”

Sooner or later the truth will come out. I suspect that the first four ahead of Biden on the “short list” turned down the offer to be VP. Obama was already in a nose dive in the polls and none of them wanted to ruin their future prospects by being tied to what they preceived might be a loser.
