Very revealing that Coale says he wouldn’t be working for Republicans below the presidential level.I think that may

my spouse, a forever Democrat– a social worker who deals with abused and neglected children and elders, and must intervene in such families– has struggled to accept my new post- 9/11 understanding of the world. yet sometimes I’ve gotten through here and there, to open his mind a bit, to a reality beyond the liberal platitudes of our culture. (I struggle too with enlightening our teens, immersed as they are in public schools….but that’s another story….)
so, for what it’s worth, my spouse was totally annoyed by the blowhard biden pick & the rude dismissal of hillary & I think he realizes that the far left has, in fact, taken over his party, tho’ it’s hard for him to actually admit this;
I don’t ever push too hard or argue angrily…. I just trust he will see it for himself, with some gentle comments here and there. yet it is not easy to “switch”, as it means also, for example, accepting that the media is now controlled by liberals, and is not unbiased, after all, i.e. questioning the news we are fed and long-held beliefs …. I showed him David Mamet’s about-face last fall in the Village Voice which was of great interest…
meanwhile he has been rather approving of palin thus far, including her clean-house reforms, as well as mccain’s integrity.
I remain hopeful for him, and others like him, as evidenced in this thread….

So, Gretas hubby was an active campaigner for HRC. I really didn’t know. I knew she was one of the more liberal folks at Fox. But then, they seem to remain more objective at Fox regardless of their bent. Sort of blows the argument that Fox is so biased. Except for Joe Scarbourough, MSNBC doesn’t have anything close to hiding their opinion.

As Greta’s enthusiasm for Palin became more obvious, I was more and more surprised, because I always assumed Greta was a true-blue lib.

Doesn’t surprise me, therefore, that Mr. Greta is going with McCain/Palin this time.

They are both absolute Clinton lovers. I don’t know why. The husband once nearly punched out Mark Levin for denigrating Bill.

Rush has said that we want Dem’s to come to our side by coming to our views, not going out to meet them. I know it helps McCain if so-called “independents” vote for him, but if people are having a hard time differentiating between Hillary and McCain, and see them as interchangeable, that is worrisome.

I suppose there’s no reason to take this slimy guy at face value.. If there’s such a thing as an angry Hillary voter, he’s it. Not sure his “support” is the kind you’d like to have to count on.

MB4 stretches the truth wrt early history sometimes, and he is stuck in his Iraq thinking, but the thing most people don’t like about him is that he doesn’t like McCain. That’s not a crime. And MiM doesn’t lie either, I don’t think, just is myopic at times and overly emotional at times.

Well then- I caught MB4 in a lie of omission over Biden’s draft deferments; He quoted a news article explaining the deferments but LEFT OUT the statement (from the very same article) that Biden’s own autobiography sited perfect health as an athelete and lifeguard.

I watch “On the Record” often, and I thought I detected discomfort on Ms. Van Susteren’s part with Sen. Obama remaining in his church during 20 years of the Jeremiah Wright ravings. I wondered if perhaps it made her less comfortable with Sen. Obama as a presidential candidate.

I watch occasionally, when Greta covers politics rather than crime stories (which I wish she could do more often). I really admire Greta’s intelligence and professionalism, and I find her quite likable personally. She’s careful not to inject her politics into her show. I’ve heard she and hubby are/were really tight with the Clintons, but I thought I detected some serious reservations about Obama. I suspected she might be coming our way someday. And I for one would be proud to have her on the team, even if just for one election.

I wonder if it’s realistic to hope large numbers of moderate (Reagan) Dems will jump the MoveOn ship. Maybe this will start the ball rolling.
