A picture refutes a thousand nutcase conspiracies

I’d like to share a picture of Governor Sarah Palin’s lovely young family, a photo that some may have already seen in connection to a despicable Internet smear against the Palins. Here we have Sarah and Todd with their daughters Piper, Willow, and Bristol. A few bloggers have pointed to the curve of Bristol’s stomach, rather typical for teens, as proof that it was she who gave birth to Trig Palin in April 2008, and not Governor Palin.

Here’s the caption from the Anchorage Daily News:
Sarah Palin at home with her family in Wasilla, Alaska in 2006.
Either the Palin women have a record gestational period, or this proves that Bristol’s small amount of “baby fat” has nothing to do with an actual baby. She’s a normal young teenage girl, not the center of a grand conspiracy to hide some deep, dark family secret — the type of which stopped being deep and dark a few decades ago.
And there are these new photos over at Free Republic as well:

These appear to have been taken around the same time as the photo I posted on Saturday, which appeared in the Anchorage Daily News on February 29th:

Will this stop the nutroots from attacking Palin’s children in their desperation to derail the Republicans? Doubtful. I’m sure some of them are working out the details of the same kind of time travel that allowed Joe Biden to see Bobby Casey at the age of -2.
On the other hand, perhaps they are moving on. HuffPo has a new scandal — Palin told a boob joke in college. I’m not kidding, unfortunately.

Here’s the perfect ending for the Kos Kids’ moonbat “It’s Bristol’s Baby” conspiracy theory.
pdigaudio on September 1, 2008 at 10:16 AM
On the contrary: it’s delightful. The more viciously they attack her, the thicker her armor becomes and the more America sympathizes with her and supports her. I want them to do more and more of this, for in so doing they use up time, waste liberal internet bandwidth and make their chosen political party look like freaks.

Which scandal are you nutroots going to settle on?
Either she was never pregnant and was covering for her daughter, or she was irresponsible and should have gone directly to the hospital.
They can’t both be true.
Will you leftard nutbags please make up your minds?

A waste of time using facts against the left. The fact that there are facts is just more proof that it’s a giant conspiracy.

Palin wore a silly T-shirt in her youth while Obama took drugs and was mentored by a communist poet. It’s foolish to be digging for bones when you have all sorts of skeletons in the closet.

Sarah Palin has a pregnant woman’s FACE in these photos. Not sure how she would fake that.
Then again, trying to reason with the insanity on the left is like trying to eat a bowling ball.
Elizabetty on September 1, 2008 at 10:41 AM
Of course, if she had a perfectly flat belly, it would be ‘why is the media covering up Palin’s daughter’s anorexia?’
If you think that’s bad, wait ’till the British tabloids work out that her daughter is named Bristol.

Here’s a photo of the family from Summer 2007 and they look the same. How do I know it’s 2007? Because it’s captioned 2007. How do I know it’s summer? It’s Alaska and there is sun and no snow.
I feel for the Bristol. This is how young women’s body image get’s destroyed.

And they might just vote McCain…
JetBoy on September 1, 2008 at 11:14 AM
Why? Because the msm is starting to pick this nonstory up. They are reporting that there are rumors on the internet about the baby and Bristol and why wasn’t Palin vetted, blah blah blah. That’s all they have to say to give credence to this b.s. They are doing nothing to report that this is a slime job on a family and a kid.

One of the best parts about Palin’s nomination is that she shakes up the dynamics. The Obama’s and Biden’s are all Ivy League educated liberal elites. They end up looking incredibly stuffy in comparison to the Moose Hunting Beauty Queen!

Yeah, way to go lefties. The Palin’s daughter doesn’t starve herself like a hollyweirdo to fit into size 1 jeans, so you attack her and accuse a 14/15 year old girl of being pregnant.
At least Alhouse had the decency to call them out. Where’s the rest of the feminists and how about the anorexia treatment industry leaders? Oh, right, in their 1 week post-DNC cocoon, rocking back and forth muttering Obama over and over again.

my sister went through a pregnacy as a single mom.. (In her twenties… not her teens)
when she would visit us, she would wear loose fitting shirts to hide her belly until she couldn’t hit it anymore and told my folks..
a teenage girl facing a pregnancy and wanting to keep it hid would NOT wear a snug shirt like she is wearing in the photo.. especially if the family was ‘in on it’.
My sister kept her belly hidden from my parents out of shame and/or embarrassment.. (parents are religious.)
I bet that Bristol would do the same.. IF SHE BECAME PREGNANT.
then again.. after seeing Mr. Palin.. I wouldn’t want to be the boy asking her out for a date. :)
the ‘Mom-Claiming-The-Daughter’s-Baby-As-Her-Own-And-Faking-The-Pregnancy’ is something straight out of a bad prime time soap opera..

The nutroots are behind the powercurve with this left field nomination. They haven’t had time to dig up dirt on Palin. As we speak, I am sure liberals are headed to Alaska to search for dirt- not that Birkenstock wearing hippies won’t stick out in a town of 9,000.

You’re right. You don’t get it. And considering the viciousness of the tabloid press in other countries, your “only in America” comment is disingenuous at best.
We have risen above it. Have you seen anyone attacking Obama’s children? How dare you insinuate we would retaliate with the same type of behavior. And if you’ve been reading, we have dealt with the issues. What you are really arguing is that we allow untruths, lies, innuendos to go unchallenged. Why?

Probably not.
However, clear-thinking people should note Gov. Palin’s face in the first compared to the one’s when she is pregnant. Notice how much fuller her face is compared to the family portrait from 2006. That is something you cannot fake.

The boob joke was actually funny! It’s almost funny that this kind of stuff is all the left has; that and their lies. It’s not at all funny or ok that the loony left is smearing a young girl nationally. I’m sure in their minds it’s ok because she’s on the Republican side. But in their dementia, do you think they might wonder even once, what all this smearing of a young girl will do to further their agenda and win people over to their side??

I am not one of those persons calling Barack Obama a mulsim or terrorist. Plus I am a Daily Dish Sullivan Reader from way back when Sullivan first started after 9/11. I defended Sullivan when he called Hugh Hewitt on his past excesses (although I never recall Hewitt attacking a politician’s kids). I have also defended Sullivan in the past from Ace, HotAir, Michelle Malkin, Jonah Goldberg, John Podhoretz, etc. I often do not agree with Sullivan’s take, but I thought he was an honorable voice. For me to attack him now is a big deal, but it is justified.
Sullivan crossed a line with this nonsense. You do not attack a candidate’s children without good cause and solid evidence. A Daily Kos echo chamber is not a legitimate source. Sullivan played the role of a dirty gutter hack. And he did it all on his own.

That is exactly why that whole movement is a fraud. Real women love to see any women(of course like minded women would be great), advance. So screw the Libs, and Hillary who is a selfish witch, who rode on the back of her man who abuses women for fun. I see her as an accomplice to crimes against women.

Wow, is my head spinning, and not just from the antihistamines. I congratulate Bristol on her ‘choice’ to do the right thing and be responsible for her ‘mistake’. I’m sure she will be fine, with a supportive family like hers. I wish her the best.
I agree with whoever said they’d vote twice if Todd Palin pounded the people who promoted the awful rumors about his family. I have to admit I actually went to the sites and read through quite a few of the comments. I wanted to turn away, but it was like a gruesome train wreck. You just can’t stop yourself from looking and then regret it.
I could not believe the vile things those people were clearly hoping for. Not only did they slander/liable (?) Sarah, her daughter, possibly Todd, but there were even some suggesting the oldest son was ‘responsible’. Disgusting!
I was pleased to see some trying to get the wackos to stop, but even most of them only cared because of how it would make them look ‘if it wasn’t true’.
I may loathe pretty much everything about Obama’s positions. I might find him the most frightening potential President EVER. I might have even ‘joked’ from time to time that I think he might be the anti-Christ! But I would not wish what the wackos on those sites were hoping for on anyone’s children/family. Not even to keep him out of office.

It’s not the belly that shows in a pregnant woman! The face and its glow as well. Look at her hair, also: glowing! Think of all the blood running through her veins, the extra iron she has to take for baby’s sake, and the pregnancy vitamins.
Pregnancy has its own way to beautify a woman. After the birth, now, that’s a different story…

Amen to that, I really believe that’s going to be the case. There is a Bugs Bunny cartoon (Tortoise and the Hare) that seriously almost mimics this campaign. Bugs Bunny gets out to a fast start then dresses as a turtle (moving to the center). He starts to win until the rabbits (liberals) turn on him for looking like a turtle. There’s even mobster rabbits on the rabbits side lol. Eventually they stop the rabbit and whisk the turtle across the finish line! (DRESSED AS A RABBIT!). There will be plenty more gaffes from the left and the Messiah’s lead will continue to corrode. That’s what happens when you make a deal with the

4k78 on September 1, 2008 at 7:31 PM
I posted this on another thread that got buried:
This is getting tiring. If the daughter is pregnant, “Grandma-gate” is not true. Simple.
If it’s a cover-up, the Left will waste a lot of time and resources on an issue which in the end only points to the Palins as being very “traditionalist” in their private lives, thereby appealing to that crowd. Indeed, even in this alleged cover-up of the cover-up, the daughter is actually marrying the father. Either way, it’s a win for traditionalism.
Such cover-ups were indeed common at one time–send the wayward girl away to stay with a “sick aunt,” then have her come back and raise the child as a nephew/niece. It allowed the child to live, have a somewhat normal life, and not only preserve family honor, but also promoted and maintained the societal pressure on the impressionable to restrain (albeit not totally) inappropriate behavior.
It wasn’t perfect, but it was better than our alternative today. We now have out-of-wedlock births viewed as nothing significant, and as a result traditions and morals are driven further and further down, and restraints more and more discarded. (Yes, the “Murphy Brown” Effect.) Maybe it was/is a deception, but one no worse than the self-deception that throwing off restraints and abandoning foundational values is some sort of beneficial “enlightenment” for society.
Sincerely,
Someone longing for the ’50s… the 18 ones or the 19 ones, not too picky.
If new evidence pops up one way or the other, let me know.
