Video: The Lyin’ King

posted at 8:15 pm on August 29, 2008 by Allahpundit

I’m starting to think Stewart regards Obama jokes as his own personal sword in the stone. Many pretenders to America’s comedy throne have tried and failed to make liberal audiences laugh at The One. Only the true king shall wrest them from their place of ideologically enforced silence and set them a-giggling. Pull, Jon, pull!

The “Good Times” clip had me on the floor!

hippie_chucker on August 29, 2008 at 8:26 PM

McCain should buy it and start running it now until the election. And then after, just to rub it in.

hepcat on August 29, 2008 at 8:26 PM

Jon is a Barrack blasphemer! :-)

Mojave Mark on August 29, 2008 at 8:26 PM

I hated hated HATED the Lion King. Oh, I’ll go be a hippie for 10 years and come back a most awesome warrior.

Now ‘What’s happening’ that’s classic.

P.S. Sarah “Barracuda” Palin should challenge Barak on the court.

If Jon “I’m in the tank for any liberal” Stewart features this kind of stuff on his show, then be assured: the Obamassiah is toast.

Sarah’cuda

ManlyRash on August 29, 2008 at 8:29 PM

That clip of Rog’ from What’s Happening had me laughing out loud.

forest on August 29, 2008 at 8:32 PM

Clearly Jon Stewart is nothing but a bitter racist. I bet he spends his evenings clinging to his guns and religion too.

rbj on August 29, 2008 at 8:34 PM

Got to hand it to the folks over at The Daily Show. When they’re funny, they’re funny. Excellent stuff.

madne0 on August 29, 2008 at 8:37 PM

I can’t watch it. ;_;

Darth Executor: Hello fellow Canadian,I can’t play any vids
from Comedy Central for some inexplicable
reason either, I learned to go to you-tube,
to render the problem!!!!:):)

canopfor on August 29, 2008 at 8:50 PM

He better keep trying while he’s got the chance. If ‘The One’ is elected, I have a feeling the FCC will be paying him a visit to discuss his ‘racially inflamatory remarks’ and ‘hate speach’…

AUINSC on August 29, 2008 at 8:51 PM

Quick……… add it to your “favorites” before the Obama campaign sicks the Department of Justice on Comedy Central……….. and this video is “no longer available”.

Seven Percent Solution on August 29, 2008 at 8:52 PM

Stewart is either trying to get his liberal audience to learn to laugh at their messiah, or frantically trying to rebuild the bridge he torched with conservatives after he became the media’s golden boy. He’s in big trouble ratings-wise if he can’t make fun of the next president and maintain an audience at the same time.

doubleplusundead on August 29, 2008 at 8:53 PM

Am I too late to say…

“that’s raaaaaaaaaacisssssssttttt!!!”

heh.

Lockstein13 on August 29, 2008 at 8:54 PM

AP, it took ya long enough to post this.

And I’m glad you did. Funnest Bio Pick…evah!

Hey Hey Hey ..

DarianCounts on August 29, 2008 at 8:55 PM

Oh My Friggin God that is funny!

The RNC Convention should feature that video as the opening act… perfect! It clearly labels the opposition as THE LYIN’ KING! Perfect.

IntheNet on August 29, 2008 at 8:56 PM

Look at this t-shirt from his speech last night.

Not playing the celebrity, rockstar, Messiah angle, indeed.

Enoxo on August 29, 2008 at 8:57 PM

I still get over the fact that they superimposed Obama’s face over Simba’s. Truly classic.

The Ugly American on August 29, 2008 at 9:27 PM

Did anyone notice that this skit uses a “goat” to give Obama his revelation??

AlreadyKnownAs on August 29, 2008 at 9:34 PM

It’s not that he can’t get them to laugh, his audience doesn’t realize that was a parody.

Bill Brasky on August 29, 2008 at 9:50 PM

ROFL that was great.

That’s the Daily Show I used to watch every day.

thecountofincognito on August 29, 2008 at 10:07 PM

“Simba”, “Simbama”, “Hey Hey Hey”, and “Hakuna Matata”.

Are these racial slurs…?

CliffHanger on August 29, 2008 at 10:10 PM

The One should have nominated RERUN for VP

flytier on August 29, 2008 at 10:27 PM

Everybody sing!

I’m gonna be a mighty king
So enemies beware!

(Well, I’ve never seen a king of beasts
With quite so little hair)

I’m gonna be the mane event
Like no king was before –
I’m brushing up on looking down
I’m working on my ROAR!

(Thus far, a rather uninspiring thing)

Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!

No one saying do this
No one saying be there
No one saying stop that
No one saying see here
Free to run around all day
Free to do it all my way!

(I think it’s time that you and I
Arranged a heart to heart)

Kings don’t need advice
From little hornbills for a start

(If this is where the monarchy is headed
Count me out!
Out of service, out of Africa
I wouldn’t hang about!
This child is getting wildly out of wing…)

Oh, I just can’t wait to be King!

Everybody look left
Everybody look right
Everywhere you look I’m
Standing in the spotlight!

Let every creature go for broke and sing
Let’s hear it in the herd and on the wing
It’s gonna be King Simba’s finest fling

Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!
Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!
Oh, I just can’t waaaaaait … to be king!

rockmom on August 29, 2008 at 11:14 PM

You all should click on the link by Nyog_of_the_blog above- to the People’s cube – I have just spent 15 of the most entertaining minutes of my life watching the videos there – I was giggling my butt off.

HawaiiLwyr on August 29, 2008 at 11:16 PM

Absolutely awesome

Baphomet on August 29, 2008 at 11:43 PM

I wonder if his ratings are suffering. Maybe ratings dont’ matter on Comedy Central.

petunia on August 30, 2008 at 12:45 AM

It’s not that he can’t get them to laugh, his audience doesn’t realize that was a parody.

Bill Brasky on August 29, 2008 at 9:50 PM

That is absolutely true. A friend of mine was talking to someone who swore that Obama was a prophet and spoke the word of God. I think the parody is lost on them. We have to save them from themselves!!!!

petunia on August 30, 2008 at 12:49 AM

Awesome job Comedy Central. You really are coming back to the center. For the real lyin king, check this out.

That completely blew the Jerry Drucker, er Mort Zucker, er, Mort Drucker…whatever that “Airplane” guy’s name is… preview trailer off the map. Hilarious.

Captain Scarlet on August 30, 2008 at 4:35 AM

Wow. I have boycotted The Daily Show for years. That was genius.

carbon_footprint on August 30, 2008 at 8:26 AM

Has anyone else noted the ‘O’ goatse salute at 1:03 into the video?

carbon_footprint on August 30, 2008 at 8:26 AM

Hilarious! ITs also funny how the youtube link has been pulled down already. Hehe.

womball on August 30, 2008 at 1:13 PM

Now FINALLY maybe you yahoos will stfu about the Daily Show only lampooning the right. But I doubt it.

Dave Rywall on August 30, 2008 at 1:30 PM
