Yes, she is. And I am THRILLED to have her on the ticket. As for her being “a heartbeat away from the Presidency”…yeah, so? Harry Truman was a heartbeat away from the Presidency, too – and hadn’t been briefed on the development of the atomic bomb, or the state of our relationship with the Soviet Union – when FDR passed away. And then, all of FDR’s problems, and projects, and policies, became his to deal with. Which he did. Because that’s what he had been elected to do. His job.
Truman was a haberdasher – and his business went bankrupt. His home in Independence, MO, is lovely…but if you blink, you’ll miss it. A modest, honorable man.
And Sarah Palin is a modest, honorable woman, fully capable of leading a PTO, or a town, or a state, or this nation.

Governing a state with no urban center and a population of only 600,000 (thats less that westchester county NY) doesnt count as executive experience (unless you think county exec andy spano is ready to lead of course).

Running a budget smaller than the City University of New York’s doesnt make you a reformer.

Does she even have a world view? Hows she feel about Israel, Iraq, Russia, China, Social Security, the bank meltdown…etc, etc.

To be more clear; Sarah Palin proves to be more of a man than Barack Obama or Joe Buden.

The Exit Answer to Frum’s question is that were McCain to stand on principle and choose the best person for the job of VP, he would not have won the election. So he had to choose Palin to play the identity politics game and win the election. But, people could argue that McCain winning the election and keeping Obama out of the White House, no matter what he has to do in order to do that, is ‘putting the country first’.

Identity politics most certainly entered into the equation. It is easily pointed out at a glance that Sarah Palin is more of a lady than Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton. When you factor in her upbringing and accomplishments, she is also more of a man than Obama or Biden.

The fact is that America is a country where greatness abounds everywhere. In a free society as ours where “anyone can be President” a person can rise “above his station” because no station exists. Time and again from towns and villages great people arise and do great things.

give the country back to Americans, citzens who go to work each day and make a real living/life, citizens who make this great country work
I would put Sarah at the top of the ticket , fire every politician with over 8 years and hire a thousand more like her.
