Not to be too much of a prick, I can say with some certaintainty that the younger McCain is in a considerably more direct role. He enlisted in the active duty Marine Corps and is currently a non-NCO in the groundpoundingest of groundpounders.

Full disclosure: I say this as a prior service E in the MC, with a brother on AD.

Someone should inform the Obama camp that all of McCain’s sons have or will have served in the military. Not to mention one has already been deployed to Iraq, and his youngest is due to graduate from the Naval Academy. ViperPilot on August 28, 2008 at 10:25 PM

Um… no they wouldn’t it demeans the service the troops are doing to make it political. Neither party should be doing that.

Carter was an awful President. He’s actually quite a good Man, and I fully respect him for that.

I used to think that, too. I used to say it a lot, actually. But I no longer feel that way about him. He is a melancholic megalomanic who so micromanaged his presidency, that he would waste thousands of hours of his staff’s time to find out where storm drains emptied. So suspicious and paranoid was he, that he refused to share valuable information with his staff and often made decisions simply by his own accord. His appeasement during the Iran hostage crisis set the scene for what we are dealing with the Middle East today. His total lack of respect for the office of the presidency led him to break with tradition and continue on his globe-trotting monster visiting and president bashing. I feel that the evidence has shown him to be a definite antisemite. No, I no longer think of him as a good man. He is a deeply troubled and conflicted man, still bitter because he did not win a second term and he will do anything in his power to change his legacy. Sadly, he has, only not in the way he wished.

McCain’s capitalizing on his military service is understandable. Biden’s capitalizing on his son’s military service is strange. McCain has two son’s in the service, the younger son has served one (maybe two?) tours, and yet he’s been almost silent about their service.

Leave it to the Dems to capitalize vicariously only on someone’s military service.

Screw Carter. I would have served if I’d been drafted in 1979, but I would have been drafted only because Carter made us weak. I’ll never vote for a weak-a** Democrat as long as I live. And Obama’s cut from the same cloth.

Listening to the beginning of Obama’s film, he said his grandparents weren’t complainers–then why is he and why is he a Democrat. I really loathe this guy.

You’d think Jimmy Carter would avoid talking about Americans held hostage overseas at all costs.

They obviously are pointing to all the times McCain has used his son’s service as a political tool…oh wait he hasn’t.

Wrong, McCain has never traded on his son havong served in Iraq nor his other son at Annapolis. If this is true, it just reinforces my thoughts that Biden is a scumbag.
