and he actually ended up with more delegates than Mitt did

Umm AP, that might be because he stayed in the race alot longer than Mitt...

And does anyone here doubt that if it was a two man race from the get-go that Mitt would be looking for his VP right now?

So tell us Allah, who the hell do you want for VP? You didn't seem to like any of the candidates for president. So who if you had your way would you want for either CIC or VP? Talk about hard to please.

Some of us Christian, conservative, pro-life, pro-gun, pro kick terorrist ass and secure the border types don’t like how Huck used our faith and his distortion of his record or his name dropping (and lying) about foreign policy advisers, etc.

aikidoka on August 28, 2008 at 8:30 PM

No sir, Huck didn't lie and distort Christianity. Huckabee is a man of faith and is a Christian leader, and he is not a person to hide his faith. He wears it openly and honestly. Exactly what all of us Christians should do. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ" (Romans 1:16). Mike proved he wasn't ashamed! Do you even comprehend the challenge it is for somebody not ashamed of Christ to make it on mainstream media without being criticized by scoffers like you? It's almost impossible! In fact, I don't know of any politician on the national stage besides Governor Huckabee who is as comfortable and unashamed about being a Christian. See Deuteronomy 6:6-7. And what I posted about the Republican elite (not grass roots conservatives) wanting to move the Republican party to the center is a reality pal. Pay attention to the news. McCain's the Republican nominee for crying out loud! A guy like Mike Huckabee running for President of the United States doesn't help them reach the center. Give your head a shake and wake up!

How about this name: Rob Portman, a congressman from Ohio?

He had been touted as a strong candidate for McCain's veep some time ago by Robert Novak.

He is supposed to have strong economic credentials, and he is relatively young.

This thread reflects the conversations I was writing about last night. The situation was getting really tense with the money people and the delegates. And, if the poll is the delegates, then it does reflect an accurate picture. Delegates are insiders, and insiders are conservative. The insiders favor Mitt and Palin. For those who voted for Mitt in this poll, if you asked who their second choice was, Palin's name would be right up there. Same for those who favor most of the other candidates. Lieberman, Huckabee, Hutchison--out of the picture as far as we were led to believe.

Lowandslow:

It’s one thing to be a Romney supporter. It’s another to ouright lie and ignore his convenient policy changes before running for President.

Guess that means Mitt’s out too.

Sir Andrew on August 28, 2008 at 7:11 PM
Where do you get I'm a Romney suppoerter. Take about making shit up.

now you are accusing us of being liars. Seriously. research the Alaska blogs and you will find out

ConservativePartyNow on August 28, 2008 at 7:09 PM
If you don't want to be accused of lying, don't lie. This is the first I've ever heard that Obama's staff had anything to do with this investigation. There has never been any report of this, ever, by anyone. Why? Because it's not true.

He should go with Romney. Alternatives would be Newt or Fred if either of them would take the job. There are a couple of others that would be acceptable but they don't seem to be on the table. If McCain doesn't screw this pick up I think he wins the election, otherwise he will probably lose. Considering McCain, he will probably screw it up.

When you make that specific accusation usually you follow up with a link.
If no link can we assume the last part of you post is aimed at yourself?

"No surprise that he’d top the list given how high his profile is, but Huckabee’s high-profile too and he actually ended up with more delegates than Mitt did."

Wow you sure sound ignorant. Perhaps Huckabigot beat Romney because Romney dropped out and Huck stayed in forever? Hmmm.

I want someone who could step in and be presidential should the need arise.

That's Mitt Romney.

He is not a legislator. He comes from outside the Washington-Beltway. He has excellent legal and business credentials. He is a savvy executive. He represents excellent, scandal-free family values. He exposes Obama and Biden as the featherweights that they are.

I think Mitt would make a fine VP, I just don’t think he brings any votes to the table…money yes, votes no.

Just for the record, The Miami Herald reports that Mason-Dixon Polling & Research says otherwise:
"About 32 percent of respondents said they'd favor McCain if he picked Romney. That's double the number of those who said they'd be less inclined to back the ticket.... 'They know Romney, who campaigned hard in this state,' said Mason-Dixon pollster Brad Coker. 'Romney looks like he gives McCain more of an edge than Biden gives Obama.'"

Huckabee does seem to be the type to let a grudge go. /sarc

That's what happens when you have to much guilt on your conscience. Governor Huckabee and I, we both forgive you. There. Feel better?
