Edwards’ affair fixer wooing Denver VIPs at convention?

John Edwards got shunned by Democrats at this convention for his extramarital affair with Rielle Hunter and the shady financial connections between himself, Hunter, and Andrew Young. Fortunately for the man at the center of those financial connections, no one seems to hold a grudge against him. Fred Baron, whose payments to Hunter and Young look suspiciously like hush money, got welcomed by Democratic donors and Senators at a function organized by the DSCC:
Former Senator John Edwards has stayed away from the Democratic convention in Denver, but the close friend who helped hide his one-time mistress is receiving VIP treatment here.
Fred Baron, a wealthy Texas trial lawyer and former finance chairman for Edwards’ presidential campaign, was seen Tuesday at a private luncheon for top party donors and key senators. …
The exclusive lunch was organized by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee for its highest level donor group known at the Legacy Circle. It was one a series of VIP events Baron and other top donors have received throughout the convention from party officials, and which allow donors close access to members of Congress.
This VIP treatment organized by the finance committees of the Democratic Party, and the Congressional campaign committees.
Supposedly, Edwards knows nothing about the “assistance” Baron provided Hunter before their affair got confirmed in a late-night visit by Edwards to her hotel room in July. Baron says he just wanted to make sure Hunter could keep her head above water. His small boost to the single mother and the putative father included such necessities as private jet trips, expensive California homes, cars, and of course a significant amount of, er, grocery money.
Apparently the Democrats like to sanctimoniously condemn Edwards while embracing the man who made sure no one talked. That says something about the values of the DSCC in inviting Baron to participate in this luncheon. At the least, without Baron, Democrats may have known from the beginning what kind of man John Edwards was a year or more earlier, and it could have saved contributors millions of dollars of the hard-earned money the sent the former VP nominee. His VIP treatment should give these contributors, a few of whom wanted to sue Edwards to get their money back, a good idea of their value to DSCC chair Chuck Schumer and the rest of the Democratic leadership.

ED!
That’s not all! I wrote this the other day:
“Although former Presidential Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards won’t be at the convention for obvious reasons, the guy who kept the press at bay long enough for Edwards to fool America is now working for Biden to handle his press.”
From Fox News:
Even though Edwards is not coming to the Democratic National Convention here in Denver, it’s not like he’s been completely forgotten. His closest associate from his campaign, Sam Myers Sr., is now said to be working with the Biden for Vice President campaign. Myers, they say, has been assigned to handle press traveling with Biden on his campaign plane.
“If anyone knows what happened with John Edwards, it’s Sam Myers,” says an insider. “He never left John’s side during the campaign.” The source continues: “I’m amazed he’s with Biden. Sam is a mean guy, real pit bull, very unlike the Obama people.”

If the dems are going to allow an known adulterer who soiled the oval office with his…well you know what… speak at the convention, then why wouldn’t they welcome Fred Baron with

Baron, Edwards, and the rest of those associated with the trial lawyers’ lobby. Time to direct the spotlight on them for their roles in hindering the economy and the health care industry.
What frauds.

Hush money Fred, hopefully he will stay in Colorado and never return to Texas.

The Bond villain is their “Mr. Outside” funding their 527s. Baron is their “Mr. Inside” directly buying candidates and people who can damage his boys. One is like Joe Kennedy the other like a KGB illegal agent funding the 80’s nuke protestors.

You soooooooooo hit that nail right on the head!
And, all the while the dems are publicly hand wringing about the influence of fat-cat moneymen, lobbyist, and corporations…What a bunch of hypocrites!
Anyway, off topic a bit…How’d y’all like the closed delegate vote thing yesterday? It was a political version of the union card check!!!

If those Dim contributors were too stupid to understand the true nature of people like Edwards and Schumer, they probably deserved to have their hard-earned money squandered on a whore.

This story was first reported in December 2007. While Democrat contributors may not have heard this, surely Obama heard the rumors. [I know I heard them, and I wasn't considering him as my running mate or as attorney general :)] Assuming he heard, was he naive enough to take Edwards or Baron’s word on this, without fully vetting the facts on Edwards?
If taking their word for it is the explanation, what does that say about his famous judgment, particularly when the story involving Andrew Young was (is) just not credible?

P.O.S.
Somebody needs to investigate exactly what these people do and how they do it. I am not just talking about the Edwards lies.

John Edward’s pimp = Dem Senators lining up outside his hotel suite for payola = ABC reporter tipped off getting choked by some of Colorado’s finest. Change we can bank on.

The Democrats will take change but prefer large denomination bills.

Exactly!
Item: because of excessive jury awards to widows whose husbands had flown their planes INTO thunderstorms, Cessna ceased production of single-engine aircraft for many years, and Piper went bankrupt. Congress had to pass a special law to put a ceiling on the value of the life of a stupid pilot.
Item: the ratio of lawyers/citizen in the United states is 70 times that of Japan.
Item: Lawyers (Congress) make IRS law so huge and complicated that IRS doesn’t understand it and will not provide answers, or stand behind any answer they do provide.
Solution: turn 90% of law schools into factories that actually PRODUCE something.
