I can’t believe the conservative blogs and the McCain campaign aren’t more embarrassed about making the mistake of not recognizing what the set is supposed to be an homage to. I mean everyone jumped the gun and called “Greek Temple” without thinking.

My first thought when I read about the columns was that it was the White house, or possibly the Supreme Court. But, then I thought, "nah, that's to crass."

Äctually, looking at the "temple" on TV now, it looks kind of... crappy. Bush's stage in 2004 was much nicer. Maybe the outdoor light just makes it look shabby.

I hate to throw cold water over all this heated indignation over the columns (especially since I am not an Obama supporter), but I seem to recall Washington, DC having columns everywhere. The pictures I've seen so far remind me more of the Federal Triangle metro station more than any Greek temple.

I think my new favorite part of the setup is the canned crowd noises they have already prepped. FOX was reporting from the stadium this morning and the sound-check guys were playing old Obama speeches to get the levels right ... and answering them with canned cheering and roaring.

If they're going to get 70,000-80,000 enthusiastic people in the stadium, won't they make enough noise on their own?

The democratic ideals that the Greek columns signify—truth, goodness, justice, liberty, and equality—are mocked by the postmodernist worldview Obama brings to Washington. To Obama, Ayers, and their multicultural, morally relevant, postmodernist ilk, these ideas are liquid, vapor; they cannot be agreed upon.

To them, the truth found in a poem is equivalent to the truth found in the empirical sciences.

To the “critical race” theorist, knowledge is “positional.” A triangle in Beijing may have four sides, not three.

“…We hold these truths to be self-evident…” When a truth is self-evident, to think otherwise is impossible. Not to Obama—his version of truth changes daily and no one seems to care.

Ayers and Obama are linked for a reason. They are both postmodernist educators, counting on a generation of voters that adhere to this muddled version of truth.

Obama’s post-modernist columns should be melted steaming piles of goo, not upright fluted columns that symbolize permanence and fortitude.

Apollo? Nope-here’s a better figure for Obama:
Ozymandias-not the original, the one in the “Watchman” graphic novel/movie.
If you haven’t read Watchman, it’s quite good.

The pity therein is there is no Kovacs in play...just a bunch of Dreibergs

Mistake

The image created is Conquest

Fear is the great motivater

Obama and his folk are clueless. The Lincoln Memorial was a tribute to the achievements of a humble man. It was not a memorial designed by Lincoln to promote himself

Of course, Lincoln was a wise and God fearing man while Hubris-Boy is probably something else

Now how am I supposed to eat lunch?

Why don’t they just add graffiti to the Greek temple to show Obama’s “all street”?

They could turn it into a musical and call it "South Side Story", a remake of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar".

Why isn’t anyone here talking about this?

We did. Look at those columns attached to the wall and Obama's full blown freestanding temple and tell me they are anything alike.

Then add in the 50 yardline at an outdoor football field
Then add in the fireworks
Then add in the 80,000 screaming fans

And tell us if its the same thing.

And stop spamming your blog here. I checked it out. It's actually less interesting than your posts.
