Everyone appears to overlook that VP candidates are usually announced in their home state whenever they are not announced at the convention. Ohio is a toss-up state like Virginia (but with more ACORN vote fraud). The only VP possible on McCain's list from Ohio is John Kasich.

If you start seeing hallucinations of Obama I suggest seeking medical aid immediately. It may be a sign of a more serious condition.

Cantor, whose 7th VA district directly borders six of the ten others, would be a defensive choice to keep Virginia red by appealing to the down-state voters to get to the polls. It might be a winning strategy for our 13 Electroral Votes, but it might not be enough to get into the White House.

I'm not expert on media markets, but from a look at Cantor's district, I'd say he'd probably been spent the decade campaigning in media markets on or near the edges of his district -- Richmond, Roanoke, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville. It is exactly these areas, plus the more lightly populated south and southwest, that lean Republican.

Obama has Northern Virginia (8th and 11th) tied up because of the "D" next to his name, and the Tidewater (2nd, 3rd, 4th) was always going to split because of the many military bases around Norfolk, plus young families, plus wealthy penisularians. A Cantor pick would be about winning the half of Virginia's population (1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th) that will determine the race in the commonwealth.

I disagree, but only because I think you’re thinking too much like a Republican. Democrats have made warm fuzzy talk the basis of much of their foreign and domestic policy over the past few years, and there are few talkers as qualified as Obama to fulfill their hopes and dreams.

You're looking at the wrong hopes and dreams, here. Obama's identity is the fulfillment, not his style. He's just not a good speaker. Rock bands get the same responses when they mention the name of the city on stage. That's all we see with BHO. His supporters acknowledge this with their reluctance to even discuss any issues.

Also, even if he hasn’t really done anything of substance, he’s made enough people think he has.

You're missing the point. He hasn't convinced anyone that he's done anything of substance. His supporters know that he's never done anything. They just don't care.

BHO is the latest, biggest winner in the national affirmative action lottery. That's all. Like other lottery winners, chances are that he'll be broke in 5 years ... unless McCain manages to do what I fear he's itching to do and blows the whole election.

I think Romney would help with the Jewish vote as well, because his election would set the precedent that a Vice President can come from a religious minority, and it won't be held against him in the privacy of the voting booth. You don't have to be a traditional Christian.

And on a Rovian note, I think a Cantor pick would give Jewish voters an opportunity to see how the Left REALLY feels about Jews. Get out the popcorn (or should I say evil Jewish sandwiches?) and let the fun begin!

Great point, exposing the left’s antisemitism is long overdue.

Please, as a Jewish person and all the other HA Jews out there know for a fact that most Jews will deny, deny, deny the left-wing antisemitism.

I mean they all hang out at DailyKos, Democratic Underground, seriously wishful thinking at best.

Zero wasn't called up because of his grace under fire. He was called up because he's got no paper trail to speak of and he's as malleable as putty. He's the ultimate leftist puppet. Unfortunately, his puppet masters are starting to find out that he does have some sort of background that can only hurt him and when he's not in front of the teleprompter he's a bumbling fool.

That's why they're managing him and trying to avoid debates, making sure he's only doing the scripted stuff.
