Video: Big Me dissing the Big O

Allahpundit posted the Politico story yesterday, but this is delicious enough in an Operation Chaos sense that the video deserves a peek. You make the call: was Bill making one last pitch to dump Barack Obama in favor of the dynasty, or merely giving an audition for a position as Professor of Political Science at CCNY?
Listen especially for the crowd reaction at this Denver event. You can clearly hear a woman exclaim, “Oh, my God” in exasperation just before the video cuts out. She’s not sold on the idea that this was a completely innocent exercise in political science, and the murmuring just below that exclamation shows she’s not the only one who got the message from the Big Me.
After this little stunt, Barack Obama and his team have to wonder what else Professor Bill has up his sleeve. Will he offer another pop quiz? Or will he stick to the syllabus approved by The Department of O-ducation?

That “Oh my God” was GREAT!!!!!

Do you mean CCNY?
mymanpotsandpans on August 27, 2008 at 1:50 PM
He’ll be ostensibly a good soldier, but the term ‘damned by faint praise’ may need to be dusted off for the post-speech analysis.

Wonder of the Obama campaign is going to have the networks impose a 5 second delay on Bubba Billy tonight?

When egos collide.
Disturb the Universe on August 27, 2008 at 1:53 PM
Er, yeah … dang it. Thanks!
Ed Morrissey on August 27, 2008 at 1:53 PM
That the Democrats are being stabbed in the back by their own people, is a very good thing.
Those are Roman columns as a backdrop for Julius Obama’s speech tonight?
“Et tu, Bubba?”
“Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him”.
NoDonkey on August 27, 2008 at 1:54 PM
If Bill can’t resist a chubby girl in a blue dress when the presidency is at stake,he won’t be able to resist sticking it to Obama tonight when nothing is at stake.
Disturb the Universe on August 27, 2008 at 1:55 PM
Hot fun in the summer time.
Disturb the Universe on August 27, 2008 at 1:56 PM
hilarious. I wouldn’t look at this as a diss to Barry so much as an endorsement of McCain

We can hope!
Clintons – let the madness commence!!

1. Bill sounds drunk.
2. Forget an October surprise – the Clintons are gonna pull an August Blusterbomb this weekend.
Dave Rywall on August 27, 2008 at 1:57 PM
So if Barry’s got a Greek temple built for him, are they building a facade for Bill of the champagne room at Cheetah’s?
Chuck Schick on August 27, 2008 at 1:57 PM
What is Bill’s drink of choice? I picture him as a Bourbon man. Or moonshine.
Can’t see him with wine.
NoDonkey on August 27, 2008 at 2:00 PM
It probably doesn’t matter any more, now that his true views are out there.
And this is indeed awesomely awesome.
Attila (Pillage Idiot) on August 27, 2008 at 2:00 PM
+5 Don’t piss Bubba off when he’s got nothing left to lose.
Anna on August 27, 2008 at 2:02 PM
The clip cuts off before Billy Jeff can say, “This has nothing to do with what’s going on now”
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuure.
Then why did you even bring it up?

The Clintons really don’t lose well, do they?
Still, that party created them. Good luck keeping him under control tonight.

It’s fun to watch two uber egos butt heads.
grapeknutz on August 27, 2008 at 2:10 PM
He’s been President. I reckon he feels entitled to say whatever he pleases, wherever he pleases.
If he sticks to the Department of O-ducation talking points, he forfeits his personal pride, his presidential legacy, and any remaining patina of leadership.
Obama’s kids will be perplexed someday in school, searching for “Bill Clinton” in the footnotes in history.
RushBaby on August 27, 2008 at 2:12 PM
So… how much do we want to wager Slick Willy won’t stick to the script?
*eats*
Grue in the Attic on August 27, 2008 at 2:14 PM
Slick hasn’t looked good during this whole campaign. Among the many things he’s been credibly accused of, pounding alc isn’t one of them. I wonder if this isn’t a side effect of the small heart attack he had or if he’s had some petit mal since he doesn’t seem to be aging well.
Captain Hate on August 27, 2008 at 2:14 PM
Obama’s people have come out and publicly said Bubba can speak about whatever he wants. In other words, we can’t control him and are hoping for the best.
Rick on August 27, 2008 at 2:18 PM
Honestly, the Clintons have done more for the Republican Party than most Republican office holders. Hillary even handed us this election by early on appearing even more presumptuous than even O.
pedestrian on August 27, 2008 at 2:18 PM
This needs to be made into a McCain ad for Thursday, to drive home the point
The buyer’s remorse among democrats may require professional treatment, so make it a strong ad.
Right_of_Attila on August 27, 2008 at 2:18 PM
Once again, O! will learn the hard way that he shoud’ve gotten off his wallet, and paid Billy Jeff the money he lost on Hillz campaign…
Billy Bub can say or do whatevah he wants tonight…
What’s the worst they can do; call him a RAAAAAAACIST!?!?
They already did that…
BJ is kinda like the Chinese, he’s got the patience to deliver the payback at just the right time; with the proper nuance to keep the fingers pointed elsewhere!
RocketmanBob on August 27, 2008 at 2:20 PM
If anyone believes that the Clintons want Obama to win they need to have their head examined. If the One wins then Hillary’s chance of becoming POTUS are gone forever. However, if Obama loses and in the process is politically wounded then Hillary can, and will, run again in 2012. She can then rightfully claim that the Dems made the wrong choice in 2008 and they now have the chance to right that wrong. I suspect Hillary and Bill will work behind the scenes to defeat Obama. Tough job though because if it comes out that they are actively seeking to derail the One, a member of their own party, then they will be ostracized forever.
DerKrieger on August 27, 2008 at 2:22 PM
Heh.
Dr.Cwac.Cwac on August 27, 2008 at 2:32 PM
Maybe his class, but I could see him sipping expensive scotch, even if he doesn’t like it or can’t tell the difference, just to show off the fact that he can afford it.
And it gets him good and sloshed, just like the cheap booze does. And someone else is probably footing the bill anyway.
NoDonkey on August 27, 2008 at 2:36 PM
He didn’t get to be called “Slick” for nothing. If he’s going to pull a rabbit out of his hat, there’s no better opportunity for him to do so than tonight, because this may be the very last hurrah for old Mr. Bill. They’ve given him the podium as a courtesy…after the convention he’ll find few people who care what he has to say.

“Freedom’s just another word for nuthin left to loooose…”
– a drunken Billy Jeff

Also interesting: Bill Clinton and W.C. Fields seem to have that rosy, gee I booze a lot, nose thing going on as well.
marybel on August 27, 2008 at 2:45 PM
I like it…but I’m afraid this may be a case of an overactive metaphore!
LarryinVA on August 27, 2008 at 2:45 PM
C’mon Billy boy, let loose at the convention tonight. Don’t hold anything back — it’s not good for your heart to be keeping all those grievances inside. The Obama people have disrespected you; let’em have it tonight. Tell them what you really think of them!
AZCoyote on August 27, 2008 at 2:47 PM
Personally, I would favor a candidate who likes to tip back a few.
Sobriety in a candidate is overrated. U.S. Grant won the Civil War and he was drunk every day of his life.
We should scrap one of the debates and just have McCain and Obama engage in a drinking contest.
I know the Captain is old, but no Namby-Pamby like Obambi is gonna outdrink an old sailor like McCain.
NoDonkey on August 27, 2008 at 2:50 PM
This ain’t red meat. This is prime Black Angus, aged, seasoned and seared to perfection.

This was supposed to be Bubba’s big triumphant return to relevance.
Instead, he’s a grumpy monkey, the 800 pound Emo gorilla in the room.
sulla on August 27, 2008 at 3:01 PM
Going this way, and the next Democratic Convention they won’t have any living President giving a speech. Clinton and Carter will be sitting together…outside.

This is probably just another Clinton “build up“. You know, similar to the time that he supposedly “lost his cool” under questioning by the Grand Jury only to turn out to be a “non-event“. This worked for BJ because the impact of having a sitting president under oath was mitigated by the disappointment of no blow-up. So,
connivinginquiring minds would like to know, is this another political ploy???Neptune on August 27, 2008 at 3:21 PM
If Bill manages to give a speech in support of Barry, it will be the first speech he’s ever given about anyone other then himself.
Perhaps he’ll recall the time that he pulled Barry from a burning all-Black church. Or the time he advised Barry to continue his venture into politics after his first defeat at the polls. Oh, and how he counseled Barry on how to get everyone else on the ticket disqualified so that he could win the next election. Then there’s always his frequent phone calls while Barry was in the state house, cautioning Barry to vote “Present” rather then piss off anyone.

That’s Jimmah’s problem, too.
He goes overseas & trashes the current President at will.

He has rosacea, a condition that produces a red, bulbous nose, among other things.
Has Bill Clinton become part of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy?
