Ugh. McCain should win this election in a walk, and they bring out this waste?

“The same human activity that has brought freedom and opportunity to billions has also increased the amount of carbon in the atmosphere. ”

Yeah, well, we’re also not dying of consumption at 30, like Chopin. I’m always a little hesitant to quote Ayn Rand, but she had this awesome quote where she said even if you could prove that smokestacks have an adverse effect on an environment, much less a population, you should kiss the sootiest smokestack you can find, because you’re still alive at your current age.

Upper Wisconsin and Minnesota Forecast: Frost and Freeze Before Labor Day

We’ve seen a lot of anecdotal evidence of a cooler than usual summer in many parts of the Northern Hemisphere. This one caught my eye though, because I can’t ever recall of hearing a freeze warning being issued for this region before Labor Day.

Another frost advisory before Labor Day

More anecdotal colder than normal weather keeps piling up. This time it’s in Southern Oregon and Northeastern California. Clearly we are having some far earlier than normal frosts and freezes in the USA, and the situation seems to be mirrored in colder than normal weather in parts of UK and Europe as well.

Greenland Ice Core Reveals History Of Pollution In The Arctic – But there’s a twist, it was worse 100 years ago

amerpundit on August 26, 2008 at 11:31 PM

The solution here is simple: Let those who are without and starving die off.

If they die off, there would be no need to transport aid to them.

No transportation of aid means no carbon emissions.

No transportation of aid means fuel savings.

No transportation of aid means money that can be spent in our nation.

But the same would apply to those in this nation as well.

The fewer poor, the less need to waste time and money, and the creation of carbon emissions. As well, fewer people means less garbage.

Everybody wins!!!

Nuclear power provides America with affordable, emissions-free energy. We
believe nuclear power can help reduce our dependence on foreign energy and play an
invaluable role in addressing global climate change.
President Bush supports construction

Increased atmospheric carbon has a warming effect on the earth.

This is of course an obvious lie. CO2 continues to increase slightly in the atmosphere, which is actually a good thing since its beneficial to the planet in all respects. But the point is, as CO2 continues to climb the earth is getting colder, 2008 is on track to be the coldest year of the decade.

Republicans pushing this plank are seeing big dollar signs in their eyes. They want to see laws go into effect to tax the public for merely breathing. Why doesn’t McCain select get Al Gore for VP?

Republicans are committed to meeting the challenge of long-term global climate

President and our Party strongly oppose the Kyoto Protocol and similar mandatory
carbon emissions controls that harm economic growth and destroy American jobs.

“Republicans caution against the doomsday climate change scenarios peddled by aficionados of centralized command-and-control government,” the platform draft reads. “We can — and should — address global warming without succumbing to the no-growth radicalism that treats climate questions as dogma rather than as situations to be managed responsibly.

Let’s see Pelosi say that. I’ve said this numerous times. If Republicans come out against AGW 100% and stick their heads in the sand, they look foolish. AGW is Bullshit. 100%. That doesn’t mean that as long as the idiotic American people think its a problem, the GOP will succeed by ignoring it. People think it is a problem, and the GOP has a duty to propose solutions that don’t represent unnecessary expansion of the Federal Government’s power. Will the GOP propose these solutions? Probably not, but there’s a much better chance of them doing it than the Dems.

Respecting and Protecting the Environment

Republicans know that economic prosperity is essential to environmental
progress. That belief is supported by compelling historical evidence. For example, over
the last 30 years, air pollution from the six major pollutants decreased substantially, even
as our population grew, our energy consumption increased, and the economy expanded.
Our Party’s environmental policies are geared towards results. Thanks to
President Bush’s strong leadership and the commitment of Congressional Republicans to
reform and innovation, air pollution has been reduced, water quality has improved,
wetlands have been restored, and more than a thousand brownfields sites are being
revitalized. Republicans also acknowledge the progress made by states and local
communities in environmental stewardship efforts. As the laboratories of innovation, they
should be given flexibility and authority to address many environmental concerns.
Finally, we link the security of private property to our environmental agenda
because environmental stewardship has been best advanced where property is privately
held. After all, people who live on the land, work the land, and own the land also love the
land and protect it. President Bush and the Republican Congress will safeguard private
property rights by enforcing the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment and by
providing just compensation whenever private property is needed to achieve a compelling
public purpose.

Clear Skies

We support President Bush’s Clear Skies proposal, the most aggressive
Presidential initiative in history to reduce power plant emissions. Clear Skies, through a
proven cap-and-trade system, will reduce by 70 percent emissions of sulfur dioxide,
nitrogen oxides, and mercury. The market-based policies in Clear Skies, along with a 90
percent cut in pollution from diesel vehicles, will help states meet new, more stringent
standards to protect public health. The President’s plan also provides regulatory certainty,
enabling power plants to install state-of-the-art pollution control technologies. These
steps will lead to significant environmental improvements while ensuring a reliable,
affordable electricity supply and keeping America’s coal industry strong.

I think that probably stems from our education system, and the fact that most young people are automatically assigned to be Democratic if they don’t consider themselves Christian. I remember being taught in 10th grade that “Conservatve” meant “stay the same” and “Liberal” mean “change.” No mention of Fiscal or Social Cons. Young people who don’t consider themselves Christians join Liberals, but then they hone their views and become libertarians, and then they get old and get sick of the way young people act and become Conservatives.

The courts have declared marriage is a status and a social contract, not a legal contract. More importantly, the reason that conservatives are (and should be) concerned about this is that marriage is an element of many laws that provide tax-funded benefits.

As far as the sexual behavior of certain people goes, the Supreme Court has already ruled that they have the right to do it and the taxpayers already provide medical care for them when they practice their perversions which spreads diseases.

They need nothing more than that and the 97% majority is not obligated in any way to provide a subsidy to support them any more than what is already given.

North America and every living thing on it could fall into the sea and it wouldn’t affect global warming a wit. And yet we’re talking about instituting expensive regulations on the CO2 emissions of US companies, degrading the quality of everyone’s life. It’s 2008 but it’s more like 1984.

I still firmly believe that the scientists that put this on this Global Warming CRAP are really pushing a Global Grifting SCAM.

It is how they get their funding by creating a climate of fear in which gullible politicians with their finger in the air waiting to see which way the polling winds blow.

They create climate simulations with questionable models that shows GAIA’s anger towards the mere mortal mankind as the source of all damages toward the ailing planet struggling to survive in the universe. GIGO is the simulation language of Garbage In is Garbage Out. The models and simulations cannot and do not provide an accurate picture of the climate, now or in the future.

If it did, weather forecasts would be more accurate than the Farmers Almanac. Which it is not.

Many of these questionable scientists continue to use the industrial revolution as the start of this imaginary illness, this planetary fever, this claim that the earths survival demands ch

Oh yes,

changes in our lifestyles, our consumption, our income.

In other words, socialism. They will run your lives, because you cannot do it on your own. They will take away what cars you can drive, monitor your home heating and air conditioning, even what how and what to bag your groceries. Every part of your life will be regulated and cared for. There shall be no wants or desires. No, you will learn the word… NO

Kini on August 27, 2008 at 2:08 AM

Yeah, well, we’re also not dying of consumption at 30, like Chopin.

Ok, I just had a thought…they always refer to THE BIG PROBLEM as ‘carbon’…Does ‘Carbon’ sound more life/planet/think of the children/ threatening than Carbon Dioxide?

They want to put a sooty face on an invisible gas that has been around since day one, a gas that is vital to life on the planet?

Umm…I think we should go after something that is ON the planet..namely H2O. Which sounds more evil? Hydrogen or Oxygen?

BigWyo on August 26, 2008 at 11:34 PM

In years past the environmental radicals used to speak in terms of carbon dioxide emissions. They they ran into a serious problem. A sceintist pointed out that a major contributor to carbon dioxide emissions on the planet was very old plants and that maybe cutting down the Amazon rain forest was exactly the right thing to do.

This had some interesting impacts. One was that the environmental radicals started referring to hydrocarbon emissions instead of carbon dioxide. Also the rock concerts to save the rain forest stopped very quickly. So did movies about the wonderful rain forest and how we might be destroying the cure for cancer by cutting it down.

So now that hydrocarbons were the “bad” gas, we come to find out that more hydrocarbons are created by cattle flatulence than by the evil automobiles and industry. Some leftie nutcases started really pushing the vegetarion mantra to lower the number of cattle that we would need to have. Another proposed alternative was to put catch bags on the backsides of all cattle. So the environmental wackos switched their mantra again.

That is when the greenie nutballs decided to just make it all about carbon emissions and be non-specific. That way they could not be pinned down. This is also a perfect opening for the political left to justify control of people and industry. After all, we have to be forced to suffer the pain required to save the planet don’t we?
