Good for them! As you recall, 14 members of his Carter Center resigned in protest after he published his book comparing Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians to the treatment of blacks in South Africa under apartheid, and he has met with top leaders of the terrorist group Hamas. It’s good to see that some people have not forgotten this.

President Carter can be called a lot of things, as we all can be. But racist or bigot are not among those things.

Maybe not a racist but I believe him to be a bigot regarding Israel. The definition of bigot meaning “a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices.” He has demonstrated his bigotry time and time again.

You have to remember that liberals take it as an article of faith that America is irredeemably racist.

Which explains why Carter would be more amazed that a black is able to rise to the point of being the Democratic nominee, than he would be for a white of similar background.

Sorry but ‘man’ would have been appropriate and not ‘boy.’ Carter was speaking in the present then switch to the past tense in a different clause from the place where the phrase “black boy” was used, then back to the present tense. Take the past tense clause out and you have “…that this black boy has the chance to be the nominee…”

He should know better. But then Michael Moore’s and Yasser Arafat’s good buddy should know better about a lot of things.

Hall monitor Ed is being fair again. But Jimmy’s comment is striking because it focuses us on the nagging essence that Barack remains an awkward adolescent, a golden boy still not grown.

Confession–I actually voted for Jimmy in 1976. There, it’s out, I can move on now. I meant it to be a protest vote, but who knew the goof would win???!
