New ad: Black Republican PAC hammers Obama on terrorism, abortion
posted at 12:19 pm on August 25, 2008 by Allahpundit
Tough stuff, noteworthy less for who produced it (the only racial allusion is the reference to Obama “making history”) than for the gloves-off treatment of his highly nuanced position on born-alive abortions. Which makes sense: Their constituency is dwindling, so they might as well pitch this at a general swing state audience. If you’re looking for a retort in the vein of identity politics, the National Black Republican Association has got you covered. It’ll be fun watching the nutroots try to suppress their more Emil Jones-ish tendencies in offering a reply. Exit question: Conspicuous omission of Margaret Sanger and her eugenics background — a strategic show of restraint or an opportunity lost?

Blowback

The Republicans need to start taking the black vote more seriously. Our values and our economics will benefit all people better, including African Americans, why can’t the Republicans just say that. The first thing they should throw out there is the abortion issue. Ask the question: Why don’t the Dems care about so many aborted black babies?

Swiftboat blacks!

The abortion issue is such a dagger in the heart of the democrat party – the party of infanticide. Pour it on hot and heavy – Obama, Pelosi, etc. melt down visibly whenever they are confronted with their support for infanticide.
My popcorn has never tasted better!

Not mentioning Margaret Sanger advocating abortion as a way to reduce the black population is a lost opportunity. As we saw yesterday in Denver, some liberals are in denial on this point.
That Roe effect that reduced the population of democrat voters is proof that God is not mocked without consequences.

Great ad. Where will it air? Why do they block comments? I’d love to see the reaction from the libs.

Very direct and to the point. And and entirely different and complete ad could be made to highlight the Sanger angle.

African Americans are a lot more Conservative than most Republicans. They are generally against illegal immigration too. . . Illegal aliens take a lot of jobs from Americans.

Raise taxes claim – misleading – McCain will do it too, and cost the middle class more
“sit down with leaders of rogue terrorist states” – misleading – McCain will too
infanticide – misleading , inflammatory and pandering to really stupid people.
A horribly unprofessional “ad”. But congratulations on lowering the bar even further.

Hey that is so unfair, this isn’t the infantacide bill he thought he knew? (He though the bill was about spraying for bugs) Don’t you know Osama bin Laden oops i mean….Obama-n-Biden are post abortion. Can’t we get back to talking about the issues…..that we never get information about?
GOPGryphon on August 25, 2008 at 12:34 PM
Too bad we already made history as a nation that supports infanticide. Reading ancient texts from Egypt, Babylon and the OT, infanticide is always the lowest mark of a society or leader. Our nation with the support of Hollywood and the Democratic party is responsible for numbers of murdered infants that these civilizations could have imagined.
I remember Dustin Hoffman’s commercials during the first Clinton campaign basically warning that the privilege of murdering your own child would be lost unless the Clintons were elected. All this with the video of an American flag, flapping in the breeze.

Black voters should be reminded at every opportunity that Roe V Wade is really only 1-2 MCCAIN SCOTUS appointments from being overturned. I’ve read somewhere that the percentage of children aborted in the black community is extraordinarily disproportionate – does anyone know where to find that data?

One of MLK.JRs daughters is a big voice against the near genocide levels of abortions being performed on poor black women in this country.

I saw this ad on TV this morning (SW Ohio). The use of the “I” word is brutal. I couldn’t get over the content and the sponsor. Too bad they didn’t mention something about Margaret Sanger (Planned Parenthood) and eugenics. A lost opportunity, to be sure. If you’re scratching your heads about that connection, go to the National Review Online archives and look for an article by Jonah Goldberg written within the past five months or so (I think April or May). After reading that article, if I were black, I’d be wondering why I’m voting for Democrats and for Obama and wondering why tax dollars are going to Planned Parenthood.
Anyway, this ad and the Ayers bombing ad are playing in Ohio. I think they’re effective. I can’t see how anyone but a Jim-Jones Kool-Aid drinker could vote for Obama after seeing the ad about his association with Ayers. Heck, even Dicky Daley says they’re friends.
BuckeyeSam on August 25, 2008 at 12:40 PM
Dude, did you just try to discredit the claims in this ad by stating what you “feel” will happen?
Elizabetty on August 25, 2008 at 12:41 PM
What I never understood is why republicans don’t counter the lefts rant that we will not vote for blacks. If Lynn Swann, or the other fellow that ran and excuse me as I can’t remember his name are men that I would vote for. Hell I’de voted for Charles Barkley at one time, befor he returned to his democrat roots.

This is the kind of thing the Republicans need to do more of. We need to hit them hard and, as much as I liked them, not with things like the Celebrity ads. That’s definitely a valid strain of criticism but Obama/Biden is much more vulnerable on a myriad of other more important issues.

Yes. Infanticide is a very inflammatory word. And words matter. Can you suggest a less objectionable word to describe the denial of medical care for babies who have survived late-term abortions? Personally, I find such actions far more objectionable than any words that could describe them.

I think because they were hitting him on several issues and in consideration of time constraints they produced it as is.
I’d like to see one done just on Obama and the Born Alive and really hit the topic and would include Sanger and Planned Parenthood.
For those of you interested, here are links to some of the black pro-life groups:
L.E.A.R.N. INC. (Life Education And Resource Network)
National Black Pro-life Union
They have a page of links to other groups.
Protecting Black Life
These each have articles about Planned Parenthood and Margaret Sanger.

I don’t want to presume to read your minds, good people, but unless you know for certain that the speaker isn’t black, I’m guessing that you think that the speaker should have that accent that many black Americans carry so that he could be readily identified as black. I think that’s a bad idea, since most professional black persons would not have such an accent or would try to minimise it for a voice-over gig.

Heh. Gotta love the lib troll Rywall! See, in the thread on Obama’s brother and the Texas ad, Rywall is bleating about “Talk about the issues!” In this thread, about the issue of abortion, he’s bleating about how unfair it is.
So, Rywall, in your eliteness and rising above us all, what IS allowable by you, our better? Can we mention Rezko? Oh, yes–all of Obama’s scummy people he loves to hang with are off limits. Because, you know, that doesn’t feel good.
Let’s talk about his hypocrisy and making John Kerry look like a dedicated, hard working stick-to-it ness. I’m talking about Obama’s flipflops and breathtaking hypocrisy. Oh, wait–that’s not fair! Obama’s character is off limits!
How about the issues? Obama wants to raise taxes and abort more babies–retroactive abortions, or murder, as I call it. That’s a bitter racist attack!
So no issues, character, or his associations. What can we talk about, Rywall? How the world will be healed by Obama? No, that’s mocking! We can’t show Obama with anyone white–that’s racist! Anyone black? Racial pandering!
I guess the only allowable thing is to just give up! That’s the only way–only peans of support to the One are allowed, right?
I personally think that character matters, Obama’s being put on by a radical marxist group, and he will destroy America. He’s worse than Carter. In fact, I would say that if the Soviets were still around, they would run Obama as their preferred candidate.
Vanceone on August 25, 2008 at 2:02 PM
Correction: The confusion about the apparently very conservative King women may be simply be the issue they have specifically advocated. Bernice is a staunch opponent of same-sex marriage, while her cousin has made pro-life her signature issue.

In terms of actually overturning Roe, that is true. But the President also has the ability to sign Pro-Life legislation, as Bush has done, ie. Partial-birth abortion ban, Mexico City Policy…or reject anti-life proposals such as funding for new embryonic stem cell lines, abortion on Military bases, etc… Or vice versa.
While overturning Roe is huge, the President has a lot of power in other ways. That’s why I get so frustrated when people tell me I shouldn’t worry that much about a candidates position on abortion, that they can’t really do anything about it, blah blah…They can, and I do care. A lot!
Love the ad! And I too would like to see them dedicate one strictly to abortion and the extreme relevance to the Black Community.
