WastelandMan said:

If he doesnt know much about the religion why was he there in SLC? HMMMM? and if he didnt know he sure could have figured it out while he was there!!!

I say:

Sir, evidently you assume that Huckabee's attending that convention automatically means that he learned about the mormon religion. While some of the people who attended did try to convert mormons while in SLC, that does not mean that everyone who was there learned the ins and outs of mormonism.

WastelandMan also said:

Worse, according to an account published in the Salt Lake Tribune during the convention, some 2,000 “messengers” of the Southern Baptist Convention went door to door in Utah and proselytized, “armed with questionnaires and their personal belief in Jesus Christ as their savior.”

I say:

Sir, evidently you have a problem with people trying to convert others to a different religion. Perhaps you forget that mormons themselves do the same thing. There is nothing wrong with either.

To Wasteland Man:

Sir, you forget that Ron Paul had over a hundred votes on the first ballot, which was what Huckabee was referring to. After that, every single one of them switched to Huckabee in exchange for 3 delegates at the GOP Convention. Huckabee told the truth.

The McCain voters obviously realized their man couldn't win (he didn't have many more votes than Paul) and decided to switch to their second choice (Huckabee). There was no evidence whatsoever of an underhand deal with McCain's voters.

Without the Ron Paul votes, and without the McCain votes, Huckabee could not have won.

Sorry sir, but you're wrong.

If this were a regular court case, I would agree with AllahPundit. But it was not. The opinion explicitly said that it would wait for the Legislature "to take such action as it may deem appropriate in light of this opinion", not for the Governor. But Romney took things into his own hands and used the Goodridge opinion as an excuse to allow same-sex marriage in Massachusetts.

Find out more here.

This is just absurd! I can not believe that some people really think that Mitt Romney tried to DESTROY the Rev. Mike! COME ON! The Rev. Mike did all he could to destroy Mitt Romney. And all the lies, lies and lies that the REV. Mike told. One other thing. The Rev. Mike was a self-promoting con-man! He should have dropped out after Super Tuesday like Mr. Romney did. But NO, he stayed in while penning deals to write a book and to sign up with Fox News Channel. Lastly, if those who will not vote for Sen. McCain if he chooses Mr Romney, they WERE NEVER GOING TO VOTE FOR HIM ANYWAY! I think the Rev. Mike's backers are the Kool-aid drinkers here.

Oh and just to burst someone’s bubble, if Huckabee actually were picked, all the damning quotes the MSM has surely been sitting on with Huck will come out of the woodwork. No Obama supporter would vote for him after that. They are social liberals, after all.

Agreed! Especially when Huckabeen's comment about a gun pointed at their Messiah Obama was played over and over and over again.

This obviously would be a huge issue. Google "huckabee obama gun". You will get one million hits! Seriously! Here's an example of what's out there:

He also denied that he colluded with McCain to shut Mitt out in the primaries and Blamed it on Ron Paul a guy who never got but 1 delegate if I remember right. LIAR! and a provable one doesn't seem too Christian to me, all that bearing false witness and all. (oh sorry was that the old testament?)
TOO BAD!

HUckabee was just on Rush lying through his teeth.
he said again that he doesn't know much about Mitts religion...
LIAR!!!!!!
and I WILL BACK UP MY STATEMENT!!!!
HERE

...As it turns out, this isn’t the first time that Huckabee has rubbed Utahans the wrong way. In the summer of 1998, then-Arkansas Gov. Huckabee, along with fellow national church leaders, attended the National Southern Baptist Convention in Salt Lake City.

At the time, the decision to hold the event in the shadow of the Mormon Tabernacle was viewed by many Mormons as an insulting stab directed at the very heart of the LDS church.

Worse, according to an account published in the Salt Lake Tribune during the convention, some 2,000 “messengers” of the Southern Baptist Convention went door to door in Utah and proselytized, “armed with questionnaires and their personal belief in Jesus Christ as their savior.”

There now ya get why Folks have a dislike for the disingenuous little prick?

That explains why Huckabee won so many states once Mitt had dropped out. I'm sure Mitt couldn't have done any better had Huckabee dropped out instead. /s

Thanks for the link. So there's a continuity between the D-News article comments and here:
Mitt talks facts about Obama = Slimy
Mitt talks facts about Huck = Maniacal
The tactics employed by those frustrated with facts are the same... Does that mean that supporters of both are like Alex Jones trying to shout down their opponent (sorry rhetorical questions in the morning are hard)?

In other news….President Romney facing his first important challenge as president, an invasion from China, decides to consult a demon via SEER STONES AND A HAT to figure out what to do..after he finishes his consultation, he receives an answer…he turns over the white house keys to the chinese government.

Two words: "Urim" and "Thummim". While the method of Joseph Smith's supposed 'translation' of the Golden Plates is one reason I find Mormonism difficult to believe, it's not like such things cannot be found in the Bible as well. "President Romney" could forgo both seer stones and the Urim and Thummim in reaching decisions by casting lots instead a la Acts.

I must admit that it would be tempting just to see the Wicked Witch removed from the Speakership, but such is still not worth the cost of voting for the Huckster.

What a shame.

If Mitt Romney wouldn't have had such a maniacal obsession with Mike Huckabee and spent hundreds of millions on trying to destroy him....we wouldn't have Juan Mccain as our nominee right now.

Mike Huckabee is the only Republican candidate that both republicans and democrats truly like(without having to compromise his GOP platform).

Almost all white Ubama supprters I've spoken to admit that they would probably vote for Huck if he was running against Ubama.

Just think, for all the hundreds of millions that Romney spent...he is still as widely despised as ever, and Huck, with no money GOT MORE VOTES than Romney!

I guess people just respect and admire a HONEST and PRINCIPLED candidate(regardless of his politics) and despise phony, plastic people with NO beliefs.

SkinnerVic here is a reference to the article in the online paper tonight about it.

Man, Sulla it took a long time to get through this post. I'm going to have to skip reading some, just the 1st few words and the last in order to have a life. It's hard now that school has started and I can't get to it until after work.
