The Dali-bama is not worried about any loss in the youth vote demographic. He has enthralled them all with his Jedi mind trick! He has had help from all of their public school teachers over the years. All of their multi-cultural, (Phony) diversity, and moral relativism has set the stage perfectly for the <strong><em>dark</em></strong> lord of hopey-changiness.

Opps, sorry, that last sentance containd some racist code words...

RIAA?

I hate those guys, they're almost as bad as ASCAP.

(If ASCAP could charge you a fee everytime you THOUGHT of a song you heard, they'd do it in a second.)

and Biden's in with them!?!?

Copyright law was created to protect a temporally limited monetary interest to aid in supporting artists. It was NOT designed to allow either:

1. Record execs to make money off the backs of small artists.

2. Artists to live off some early work and never produce anything new again.

I am a firm proponent of "nearly-unlimited Fair Use" within 5-10 years, and Public Domain within 50.

<blockquote>Adapt or die for the RIAA is correct.

As holder of both patents and copyrights myself, I vehemently disagree!!!

Both patents and copyrights are contracts which trade "exclusivity" for "fair use", on the theory that "fair use" benefits society. The RIAA is trying to eliminate the "fair use" and obtain "exclusivity" at the expense of us all (we pay taxes to support government enforcers). This position is completely irreconcilable with the original justification for issuing "patents" and/or "copyrights" in the first place, as it gives the RIAA a completely unwarranted no-cost "benefit"...and returns NOTHING to society in return.

Has anyone here heard the “popular” music of record industry of the past few years? It’s awful - which is why it’s not selling. Soulja Boy? That no talent hack.

Thank goodness he is not influencing the youth….imagine if they followed his personal finance plan……
Chris Mathews and Democrats are touting that Biden only has 150k in net worth….The gentleman has had complete health care coverage and making over twice the mean income for 30 years …..good gracious, do the youth really want him with anything to do with the economy….
Here are some numbers….if he saved 3% of his salary and invested it with just a 7% return….that would be 330K. Does he even own his house?

I'm 30 and I consider myself hip and with the times. I was leaning toward Barrack, but since he's chosen an old white guy with a history of hair loss and a habit to shoot his mouth of from the hip, I'm going to go with McCain.

Hmmm.....wait....oh yeah

Also, remember that <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillary_Rosen" rel="nofollow">Hillary Rosen</a>, the former head of the RIAA who championed the crackdown on indie music, is a prominent member of the DNC.
A youtube ad with Biden grabbing ipods and Obama getting kickbacks from record label executives could be lots of fun.

How is it that a useful invention like ShamWOW (I kid, I kid) has a maximum patent of 20 years from the earliest claimed filing date, but Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Turd won't be public domain for probably 120 years (or more)?

I like the concept of protecting your ideas so you can make some money, but Walt is an ice cube, Edgar Rice is a husk, J. R. R. is R. I. P., and Isaac is out of the everywhere. And as far as music goes, isn't 20 years enough for 'Never Gonna Give You Up' or 'Sweet Child O' Mine?'

As a yute in the coveted 18-29 demographic, I'm totally turned off from Biden 'cause he's old, and has old-man hair. And he eats puppies and kittens or something.

Seriously, is the youth vote that important? I mean, I vote because it's my duty (and I have tons o' civic pride), but are college-aged kids going to decide this election? Have they ever? I'm ashamed of my peers for their lack of massive voter turn-out, and I honestly don't think they're going to look into Biden's past in deciding whether to vote for Obama. He's the One, and if everything else hasn't sunk him yet, the legislative work by his running mate won't make a dent either.

Any of these infringements in 1 step closer to every click being sanctioned and approved by the government. I don't want China's internet laws, but to me it looks like biden does. This is a lot more than p2p.

Barack Obama needs to come out against the Big Music and Big Movie industry. He should talk about windfall profits and how the rich corporations sue 10 year olds and 72 year old grandmas.

He should propose a universal music initiative, free music for all. Should he do this, he may sway this former music pirate.

Wow Doug, you're right. Squint and lean your head to the left and it works at close range too.

I've broken the Code!!!
From the distance, say, from the back of an auditorium Joe Biden looks a bit like...Bill Clinton!
Obama really does think his Dems will fall for a lookalike.
"See? I've got ol' Bill right here with me! Hope and Change, peepul!"
