NARN, the State Fair Edition

posted at 10:00 am on August 23, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

The Northern Alliance Radio Network will be on the air today, with our six-hour-long broadcast schedule starting at 11 am CT. The first two hours features Power Line’s John Hinderaker and Chad and Brian from Fraters Libertas. Mitch and I hit the airwaves for the second shift from 1-3 pm CT, and King Banaian and Michael Broadkorb have The Final Word from 3-5. If you’re in the Twin Cities, you can hear us on AM 1280 The Patriot, or on the station’s Internet stream if you’re outside of the broadcast area.

Today, we will be live at the Minnesota State Fair! We’re going to be doing shows all during the fair, including in the evenings all week long. Mitch and I will talk politics in front of a live audience, just across from the official Democratic Party booth — so we can expect a lot of hecklers amidst the fine folks at The Patriot booth!

Be sure to call 651-289-4488 to join the conversation!

I will certainly miss the Wellstone Memorial embroidery of several years ago!

I grew up in Falcon Heights, and would walk to the fairgrounds daily when it was going on. I saw some great acts there over the years, and will always remember the taste of the hot-out-of-the-grease mini donuts! Oh yeah, and then getting sick on the rides at the midway.

I love the smell of the swine barn in the morning.

I always remember the warm stale beer smells on the sidewalk with bees flying around….while eating my strawberry milk shake at the Dairy barn… wait those weren’t warm beer smells… it WAS the Democratic Party booth.
