Oh, and bear this in mind too: To the extent that public consensus has settled on the notion that the war was wrong but the surge was right, Biden will be the one and only candidate among the final four who’ll have voted wrong on both. Genius indeed.

Dividing up Iraq was shot down for the stupid idea that it
was by Iraqis, our military, and the administration.I believe that the failure of this idea in S. Africa was brought up to show how much of a knee jerk idea it was and the fact that it would actually increase violence in the long term.

There are many areas in Iraq that have Sunni,Shia, and Kurd
living side by side.

The little town of Baghdad to name one.

If the movement of like minded people that share the same
heritage or religious beliefs is some kind of sign of failure, than start withdrawing from all major cities in the
US because there are concentrated(Harlem,China town) areas of blacks, whites,Hispanics,Italians,Asians ...etc...etc..etc... in all of them.

This is not forced segregation,it is a natural progression
of choice by the people.

Violence did force people to flee or to seek safe haven
with those they felt safe with, this happens in war.

The stabilization of Iraq has brought back hundreds of thousands of people and they will continue to come back in
time if they want to.

Iraq is a success and trying to continue to cry "but what about this and that" is going to go the same way that all the mistakes of wars like WWI and WWII did, down the memory hole or relegated to whinnying by people who just can't accept they were wrong when they said that Iraq could not come together and work toward a free society.

Think God Biden understood the importance of taking Saddam
down before him and his fellow democrats sold out their country for political gain:

Biden Called Saddam Hussein "An Extreme Danger To The World." Biden:
"This is a guy who's used weapons of mass destruction. This is a guy who's destabilized the whole neighborhood. This is a guy who in a war with the Iranians, over 800,000 people on both sides were killed. This is a guy who is an extreme danger to the world. And this is a guy who is in every way possible seeking weapons of mass destruction. That case, in and of itself, ought to be sufficient." (NBC's "Meet The Press," 8/4/02)

Biden: "We Have No Choice But To Eliminate The Threat."
NBC's Tim Russert: "If the president of the United States was saying four years ago clear evidence of mass destruction, do we have any choice but to eliminate Saddam Hussein and the threat?" Biden: "We have no choice but to eliminate the threat." (NBC's "Meet The Press," 8/4/02)

Biden Said The Bush Administration Had Enough Classified Evidence On Iraq To Gain A Conviction At A Jury Trial. "
Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr., D-Del., said Tuesday on Capitol Hill that 'the administration has evidence now that can change people's minds.' However, Biden said, 'It's a very tough call as to how much to release.' Biden said he did not think the administration would make photographs public, as Adlai E. Stevenson, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, did in 1962 to back the Kennedy administration's claim the Soviet Union had deployed missiles in Cuba that could strike the United States. But, Biden said, 'I know there is enough circumstantial evidence that if there were a jury trial I could convict you.'" (Barry Schweid, "Administration Plans Disclosure Of Intelligence On Weapons," The Associated Press, 1/28/03)

I guess that magnificent bastard Karl Rove must have shoved his arm straight up Biden's a$$ and worked him like the dummy he is to say this about Saddam and how important it is
to take him down.

Just another liberal having to brag to everybody about how damn smart they are because it doesn't show.

It’s Ayad Allawi guys, Bush’s one true stooge in Iraq. I think I can leave it at that.

Last I checked, buddy, Ayad Allawi lived in Iraq. You think he doesn't have the right to an opinion about his own country because he's, as you put it, Bush's one true stooge? Have you ever thought that maybe that's what he really thinks? Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe someone who lives in Iraq might, maybe, perhaps know a little more of what's going on in Iraq than say, you?

I think you're an idiot, but that doesn't mean you don't have a right to an opinion.

Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe someone who lives in Iraq might, maybe, perhaps know a little more of what’s going on in Iraq than say, you?

I think you’re an idiot, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have a right to an opinion.

Obama was opposed to the surge of troops. And the surge went forward, and helped to stabilize Iraq. Without it, and if Obama had his way, an Iraq's future would have been much different from the Iraq of today and now. And that future would have been worse, not better.

Biden wanted to divide up Iraq like a thanksgiving turkey. And the Iraqi people didn't want that. And it wasn't. If Biden had his way, the three countries of today would look nothing like the single unified Iraq, with people learning to live together again and have peace. And that future would have been worse, not better.

What two absolutely unqualified persons to be placed into positions of power for this country and the world. Lord help us and the world if they win.

I guess we can blame Gen. Petraeus for Biden.

If Iraq didn't turn around, there's no way - simply none - Obama would have selected a person who voted for the war.

It's remarkable how far the Iraq issue has fallen off the political landscape. It's now a secondary issue.

Amazing.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said the Obama-Biden ticket will bring the change the country needs, including a filibuster-proof Senate majority.

I'm not sure what makes Scary Harry think this union of B.O. and J.B. is going to make the senate "filibuster-proof". It would also require Democrats to win at least nine of 11 targeted U.S. Senate races, PLUS, not lose a single seat currently of their own, even if the Obama-Biden ticket wins. Democrats and Republicans are currently tied at 49 seats each in the Senate. The two independents caucus with the Democrats. Democrats barely control the Senate by a razor-thin 51-49 majority only because of the two independents.

It's not impossible, actually, it's plausible. Republicans have 23 seats to defend, including 5 left vacant by retiring incumbents, while the Democrats have just 12 seats to defend. But I think Scary Harry is counting his eggs before they hatch. I'd love to see the people of America demonstrate just how far out of touch the Defeatocrats are with reality when not only B.O. & J.B. lose, but the Republicans retain their seats PLUS add a few former Defeatocrats seat. Man, that would be sweet.

Those crazy neocons just screw everything up.

At times it does rather look that way.

A rather large topic. Would it cover, perhaps, such grand themes as the multicultural Big Lie that insists Western ways may be grafted — presto! — onto Islamic cultures? Or maybe the difficulties inherent in the Western-style, humane projection of power against seventh-century terrorist barbarians? No.

The classic clueless moment, however, came later in answer to a question from the floor: Did the administration ever tell Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia to bar combatants from crossing their borders into Iraq — or else? And if not ("not" is clearly the answer since these borders have been Grand Central Station for jihadists), why not? Wolfowitz owned up that the United States had said something or other at some point, but, overall, the consensus on the dais came down to a big, shrugging non-answer.

I got one of those answers myself, at least from Feith. I asked: What did these gentlemen think the United States would ultimately get out of Iraq in exchange for our massive investment of blood and treasure? And had they learned anything to make them doubt the president's often-repeated promise that Iraq would become an "ally" in the "war on terror"? Shrug. Not interested in answering.

Looking back, there was a narrowness in the scope of discussion that time constraints alone can't explain. It was as though the men believed every clue to heartbreak in Iraq could be found in the chain of events as they had already occurred — in papers already generated, debates already argued, rounds of infighting already waged, decisions already executed. In other words, to these men, there would seem to be nothing new worth pondering — like, for instance, the havoc Islamic ways wreak on Western-style nation-building.

Shrug.
