Video: Volleyball team wins gold, blindsides NBC with shout-out to Bush

A palate cleanser by popular request; you’ll remember our heroines here from the Butt-Pat That Wasn’t. The official Olympics site has highlights of the match but this snippet had to be rescued from oblivion by Tivo. Exit question: Good lord — don’t they know who runs this network now? Click the image to watch.

Update: Oh my. Even worse than a Bush reference!

Update: Some people are reporting trouble with the video at the link. If it doesn’t work for you, try this.

Question to all: Will the women’s volleyball team make Olbermann’s precious “Worst Persons in the World” list? Or perhaps Bush will make the list for giving one of them a pat on the back.

It’s true though. Youtube isn’t supposed to post videos of the Olympics at all. It is a copyright violation.

You Tube kosacks think they can keep this quiet, they are wrong. Copyright my . This is fair use material baby. It will be back out there.

plenty of other Olympic vids on yuotube, including several about Bush “ogling” the girls on the V-ball team and patting ass…

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by a third party.

Looks like they’re working overtime to bury this. I always thought there was some sort of rule where you couldn’t copyright newsworthy events. I suppose NBC assumed people were only watching it to see their airhead reporter stick her bony hand in front of the camera and jabber incoherently for a couple of seconds. Hey, is it their fault that a couple of smoking hot superstar heroes happened to wander in front of the lense while they were trying to film their masterpiece?

Anyway, I found the video here. I assume these guys won’t bend over quite as easy as YouTube did.

logis on August 21, 2008 at 4:14 PM

I watched their celebration but didn’t hear the Bush reference. I did hear that they were eager to start a family and have babies. NOW won’t like that one little bit.

NBC Doesn’t want to play nice?

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by a third party.

Something tells me NBC wasn’t that quick on the draw… I wonder who actually didn’t like it. Lefties flagged it and a lefty YouTube employee pulled it?

At any rate, I saw this live as well and I laughed my ass off. Partly just to see them say it at all, but especially because they were on NB-effin-C. Lol. Oh man. The best is that they said “thank you for your inspiration, thank you for all you do!”

Something tells me that Costas will have to interview them and ask them how they could thank Satan. Would you be surprised? You’ll recall that they were shocked that Kobe felt patriotic.

RightWinged on August 21, 2008 at 4:16 PM

Wow, NBC’s attack dogs bit that vid off quickly enough.

Democratic core values:
Raising taxes and Killing babies.

I added:

Republican core values:

and Killing taxes.

carbon_footprint on August 21, 2008 at 4:17 PM

Now all we have to do is send GW to Denver and Europe to do a little pat-assin’ and see how many more young people he can convert! Here’s to George “Magic Fingers” Bush!

(i know, i know, he didn’;t patt ass, just backanhded the back..)

max1 on August 21, 2008 at 3:59 PM

Yeah, but it was the WAY he did it.

Like they say: once you go Republican, you never go back.

Wow.. so two lesbians on the line-up at M(es)SNBC..

Olbie and then Madd(c)ow..

DaveC on August 21, 2008 at 4:20 PM

Near the end of the match the game was close but it looked like the Chinese were going to lose. Then, all of a sudden *gasp* an injury time-out for the Chinese team. Eerily similar to the injury time out they had in a previous game when they were losing.

I wonder what the Democrat’s “wrist injury” is going to look like.

rihar on August 21, 2008 at 4:21 PM

I saw it live, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear both women thank the President for his inspiration. And they referred to him as “Mr. President”.

Very cool.

Tom Blogical on August 21, 2008 at 4:35 PM

NbC has done a thorough job of keeping olympic clips off the internet or on their site only. It’s a challenge, but worth it sometimes to find the BBC feed to see events in real time.

Still can’t find this though, so if anyone has a working link, much obliged

It is pretty sad, that people who are proud to be Americans and proud of their President is so rarely seen that it actually brings tears to your eyes.
Thanks ladies for the great athletics and more importantly for your patriotism. God Bless you!

That is nice.

Terrye on August 21, 2008 at 4:48 PM

Just epic. I saw this last night and remarked to my wife — oooh that’s gonna ruin it for some people.

Way to go girls.

Another thing that’s probably sticking in the craw of feminist watchers out there: the next goal of both of them — to have babies.

The ChiComs have stolen the Soviet playbook from the Cold War and organized (i.e. taken from their parents for the promise of rewards from the state) their most talented athletic youth.

They are so stinking proud of their gold medal count. In my book a gold that was earned by free choice and hard work is much more praise worthy than the one that’s earned through forced labor.

rockhead on August 21, 2008 at 4:49 PM

Agreed. Actually, in my book, a silver or bronze earned by free choice and hard work is more meaningful than any number of golds earned the ChiCom way.

I saw this last night. These two ladies are two time gold medal winners, but more importantly they are true patriots and the personification of class.
NBC, on the other hand, is run by Olberman, Zucker and Capus, old hippies that do not know how to spell class.

d1carter on August 21, 2008 at 4:57 PM

I was so happy when Kerri and Misty won because they were so excited, as every champion ought to be. And then when Kerri said that I was even happier for them and so excited! Way to go, Misty and Kerri! They seem like sweethearts.

Yeah. I don’t even know what in the Hell a “third-party copyright claim” is anyway. The first party would be the girls; the second party would be the company that taped it.

So the third party is, what? Somebody who doesn’t have any rights to the subject matter… but thinks he ought to?

The entire game/interview video is here:
.
.
http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/player.html?assetid=0821_hd_bvw_en165
.
.
In their post-match interview (starting around 47:00), Misty May & Kerri Walsh give their shout out “Thank you” to President Bush (around the 48:50 mark) for his pre-games pep talk and, um…, backslap.
.
.
Kerri Walsh: Mr. President. We thank you. Thank you for your inspiration. For all you do!
.
.
They end the interview talking about their desire to start families:
.
.
Kerri Walsh: We need a baby. It’s baby time!

Misty May: We need the team of the future.

.
.
Every red-blooded American male, would be happy to volunteer, but, alas, they’re both married! :-)

MsUnderestimated on August 21, 2008 at 6:27 PM

I saw this and the NBC reporter was indeed blindsided. I think she was so shocked she was momentarily speechless. At least long enough for Mays and Walsh to have their say.

What amazing women. I watched most of their matches and their determination and focus was second to none. This little speech was heartwarming and not a little surprising - even to me. It’s really sad that it’s gotten to the point that a little overt patriotism is so shocking these days.

Redhead Infidel on August 21, 2008 at 6:34 PM

It just goes to show how small, biased and petty MSNBC has become. I not only DO NOT watch MSNBC, but boycotted duffus Keith Olbermann years ago. They can’t pay me enough to watch the hate filled idiot!

byteshredder on August 21, 2008 at 6:46 PM

I’m even a bigger fan of American athletes than ever before. Did anyone see the 3 men’s hurdlers that finished 1, 2, 3, they all thanked God! NBC shudders.

And May/Walsh want to go inconvenience their lifestyle with babies. Man, THEY ROCK!

kirkill on August 21, 2008 at 6:48 PM

BTW, because of crap like pulling this video, MSNBC executives, and sponsors will someday figure out why the network is always at the bottom in ratings! Decide to clean house, fix things up, and become respectable again.

byteshredder on August 21, 2008 at 6:50 PM

“This video is no loner available due to a copyright claim by a third party.”

Typhoon on August 21, 2008 at 7:07 PM

Check out the interview on NBC’s Today show at hulu.com.

pocomoco on August 21, 2008 at 7:07 PM

I would have loved to have seen the whole video but it’s cut off at the end. I’m very proud of those ladies anyway.

I just don’t get how MSNBC can be so blatently hateful to one man; or so disrespectful to not convey to the American People what these two ladies said to President Bush.

Hmmm, do you think if they said, “Hey, we did great in spite of that idiot in the White House”, or paid some umbridge to Senator Obama it would have gotten more air time? Yup!

So I’ve had enough with this “in your face” network and anyone affiliated with them. I’m blocking every NBC station in my home and I’m installing LINUX on my PC. NBCs programs and MSs programming both leave a lot to be desired.

I heard it when they originally said it and the news person said nothing, nothing. But it ended really fast!

Of course it did.

Remember when ABC was doing a special 20/20 about Hurricane Katrina and they had set up an interview with about 20 of the evacuees outside the Astrodome? ABC was hoping they were going to rant about President Bush but they did not, they were angry at Blanco and especially Nagin. One mentioned that the city made sure they sent school buses to get them to the polls to vote but not to get out of the eay of a hurricane.

The plug got pulled real fast on that one, too.

These are two class acts. Congratulations! Don’t think they didn’t know that the “reporter” would pull the mic if they said anything about Bush or the USA. That’s why she had her hand on the mic in the first place - she knew it was controversial - at least with the liberals of this country, which the MSM is the flag bearer. Good job girls! This video needs to live on in a thousand copies, as the samizdat writings did in the Soviet era.

Now that control of the western mass media by leftists has become almost a fait accompli, it is vital that we free thinking men and women find ways to break that grip.

Don’t ever forget… in this world, WE have the telescreens!

CCRWM on August 21, 2008 at 10:07 PM

Wow, these women did what most Democrats will not do. First, they thanked the President for the work he does. Second, regardless of how they may feel about the man, they certainly have respect for the position. Sure, they liked the “man,” too, but it did remind me of how Democrats show little respect for the Presidency and the process by which he is elected.
