I’m as relieved as anyone that the Big O’s polling numbers have fallen approximately to parity with Senator McCain’s, but I’m anxious and impatient precisely because Obama’s numbers aren’t in freefall. What prompted you to write such nonsense? You’re not really ignorant of the meaning of “freefall,” are you? You don’t think we are, do you? However that may be, having already called Obama’s recent losses in the polls a “freefall,” you seem to be left without words to describe events if Obama’s polling numbers ever actually do drop into a freefall.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. I don’t see what other choice Obama has at this point. He’s not going to get support from any other important blocks from his VP choice–except Hillary. If he chooses her, he would also finally have ONE accomplishment he could point to that makes him a credible “uniter, healer of divisions.” It’s a Faustian bargain for Obama to be sure, and we’ll keep the popcorn ready for when the devil comes for his due. I strongly suspect the exit polls on election day will not reflect the actual results. The only possible explanation will be racist Democrats fibbing to the exit pollers. That will be when you want a strong supply of fresh popcorn.

That also will create an opportunity in the next election cycle for Republicans to pursue that segment and get them to vote where their best interests truly reside.
