I’m almost embarrassed to comment on Obama not helping his half-brother, and not helping fund the “Barack Obama” school in his native village in Kenya so it might have running water or other basic school supplies. It’s such a ridiculous contrast with his words, I feel like I’m piling on. But there you have it. His big beef is people don’t help their brothers, he’s not helping his brother. Duh. Father, brother, sister, mother … grandmother. Wasn’t his autobio “Dreams from my Father” about his father as his role model? His father certainly didn’t treat his family very well. Maybe Obama just picked a bad role model. Is it too late for his maternal grandfather to become his role model? He shoulda thrown Dad under the bus long ago. Ironic that he didn’t.

Obama’s charitable contributions from 2000 through 2004 totaled about $11,000 on about $1,200,000 of income (less than 1%). When he decided to run for public office (and anticipating the scrutiny he may receive), he suddenly increased his charity to about 5% of his income for the 2 years prior to the election.

The hypocrisy is stunning. I, and most Amercans, give significantly more on less income.

If I may speak for Jesus … ok, probably a bad idea … he didn’t suggest the govt send people a monthly check to help them. “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s”. Jesus’ solutions were private. Spiritually is generally private. So “do for the least of my brothers” is not advocating socialism or govt sponsored programs, but to help others on a personal level. At least that’s how it sounds to me.

“whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me” is way too profound for me to grasp but I’d guess it has to do with how we should treat those around us, not about funding more social programs. Shouldn’t the govt ALLOW people to see God in each other instead of MAKING them see God in each other? I don’t want a law that says we must give so much to others because we are all brothers, because the next law would be it’s illegal to slander the Prophet Obama (PBUH).

In 2002, when their income was in the top 2% in the US, they donated a mere 0.4% to charity. They gave $1,050 to charity, compared with the average American household’s gift of $1,872.

Barack Obama’s ‘lost’ brother found in Kenya

I’m not exactly on board as regards the inherent evil of hypocrisy, but I’ve seen many examples of the practical evil of sloppy hypocrisy. This story is radioactive! Unless extremely extenuating circumstances come to light, it seems likely to command one of two responses from most voters who hear it, either “Obama is too evil to be President” or “Obama is too stupid to be President.”

Of course the McCain campaign will never touch this story. “Who will go for me, and whom shall I send?”
