I think it’ll hasten the inevitable political shift that is coming up. I’ve been anticipating that the current R and D parties are coming up for a major change (evangelicals moving to the D party, social liberals moving to the R party) and make for a more proper 2 party system. Each side is a bit of a hodge podge right now and neither works very well.

Lorien, I don’t see that change happening. Read ‘A Conflict of Visions’ by Thomas Sowell, and you will see that the planks of each party are based on one of two worldviews. I can’t see social conservatives moving to the dems, nor can I see social liberals moving to the reps (though I can see some social liberals moving to the libertarians, and some social conservatives moving to the greens). Unless the parties massively change their views (like happened in the 60′s) people don’t move around much, if they have strong core beliefs.

What’s more, those who backed Clinton in the primaries — but aren’t supporting Obama right now — tend to view McCain in a better light than Obama and have more confidence in McCain’s ability to be commander-in-chief.

What fools think that raising taxes on businesses is going to create jobs. I think McCain should point out that we don’t have it all that bad, but Obama’s policies could lead to a depression. Paint that picture via similarities to Jimmy Carter.

It comes down to the fact that in the primary Hillar carried elderly voters, and they simply aren’t comfortable with Obama. Even with Hill as Veep a lot of whats already going McCain’s way still would.

Yep. And all the dem smears of McCain because he’s “too old” don’t exactly make the senior demographic feel too warm and fuzzy about Obama.

And they all know exactly who William Ayers is, and remember what he and his friends did and said. They are not going to vote for Obama.

I’m one of these “Hillary nuts” and the reason I am not voting for Barack has nothing to do with coming to terms the fact the Hillary lost. It has everything to do with the fact that McCain is actually qualified for the presidency.

Yep. My mom caucused for Hillary, and she’s voting McCain. Unless Hillary is the nominee for president.

Maverick leads big on Iraq, terrorism, and Russia/Georgia but Obama’s up by 20+ on health care, jobs, and the environment.

Yep. You read that right. Union jobs. In a new high tech area requiring maximum speed to market. Where we have global competitors already checking out our lunch and deciding when they’ll eat it. I can sure imagine all our North American capitalists just having a belly laugh at this magical matching of a labour force to high tech manufacturing. Good luck with that Panderbama.

McCain should pick Hillary. He wouldn’t have to campaign much, anybody-but-Obama-McCainheads would still shill for him, and it would fall in line with his despicable maverick persona.

With a pliant media and gobs of people drinking his poison Kool-Aid, it barely matters what she said about him… he’ll plunk her on the ticket to avoid a complete meltdown in Denver… Susan Bayh can blab all she wants about getting her hair done, etc… but she’s only getting it done because she wants to look pretty for all the press that will be in Indiana for the Obama-Clinton gang-bang party hosted by Bayh.

Obama is retarded if he doesn’t pick hillary. But how can he? All those old hillary quotes of McCain being more experienced for the presidency, obama not being experienced enough, etc from the primaries will come back to haunt both of them.

My prediction — this big event supposedly happening on Saturday in Indiana is yet another headfake… Bayh will probably introduce Obama and his running mate Hillary Clinton.

Take it for what it’s worth — but I think Clinton’s the pick. He doesn’t have another choice.
