Not that hard to understand, a simple plan is in place here.

1) Californians ruin the Californian economy, meaning they have to move as they can’t afford to live there, and can’t find jobs.

2) They move to Colorado (Front Range area in general) and start voting the same stupid policies in.

Which is why we now have 1 Conservative Republican Senator, and 1 Liberal Democrat Senator. Basically Colorado is a wash on any vote in the Senate.

So Udall doesn’t surprise me, he is Boulder’s representative, and he represents those liberal nutjobs to the best of his (or anyone’s) ability. He’s the “Front Range” representative, and that’s where the Californians like to move to. Vail, Aspen, Boulder, Breckenridge…

You may think he’s a crazy liberal; but he is representing his constituency pretty well.

I find it hard to believe that mainstream America cannot see what the rest of already have; the Obamessiah is completely unqualified to be POTUS.

We get the government we deserve, but I know Coloradans are smarter than this. Now Californians, that is a different story. ; ))

Reporting in as a Republican-Californian who moved to Montana to become a Montanan… I didn’t read the WSJ story you have mentioned here, but I can report this bit of news based upon my 2 years of living here in Montana.

First off, any reports of Montana turning blue based on left coast Liberals moving here are completely false. Montana’s population has grown in the last (10) years a whopping 58,000 people, only half of which came by way of migration. Montana has a population of approximately 970,000 people. Migration to Montana is primarily due to college students coming here for various reasons; skiing, hiking, cost of education… Some Hollywood Liberal elitists have come here and bought up large ranches. These critters get the head lines and make it appear that Liberals are heading for the negative zero climate, when in fact they are few in numbers.

The real reason why Montana has turned purple for the moment is simply because Conrad Burns (and a host of past Republicans) got caught in corruption scandals, and Montanans won’t put up with that crap for a minute. Most people here consider themselves Americans rather than a member of a political party. If an elected official behaves badly, they get booted. Simple as that. Both of the current Democrat Senators are in hot water here due to one simple fact; they both are in DC representing the DNC rather than the people of Montana who are suffering big time due to living in a remote environment, and the rising costs of fuel-energy-food… Democrats will get the boot here in good time simply because they will fall out of favor due to their Liberal behavior and the need to follow party lines rather than following the will of the Montanans.

Migration to Montana is a non factor. It simply isn’t happening. 40 degrees below zero is not real attractive to the average Liberal currently living on the left coast.

Classic Republican leadership – try to do what is best for the country, no matter how bad it hurts your chances of getting re-elected.

Classic Democrat leadership – Check the polling, moisten your finger, raise it in the air, figure out which way the wind is blowing, proceed from there.

I’d disagree. The Republicans had years to enable additional energy resources and did exactly nothing. Now these assclowns are about to be booted out of Washington by a disgusted populace for something even worse, all in the name of “change.”

If the Congresscritters of the Republican Party had any principals at all, the GOP wouldn’t be in this mess. They spent years pandering to anyone in the quest to “expand the base” – and they’re still spending like drunken sailors (apologies to drunken sailors) and trying to fellate Illegal Alien Vote. It’s only out of sheer desperation that they’re sucking up to us now.

So what is the base to do? Much of the GOP base is too terrified of the thought of a Democrat-controlled congress to undertake a little bit of regime change on its own side. This has enables the GOP to slap them around in a manner more reminiscent of a “pimp / ho” relationship. “Oh, I’m sorry, did I earmark another Billion? Get your *#&%$ back to work and make me some money or it’s Democrats for you!”

Slimy politicians are only a symptom – the real problem in the GOP is a base too cowed to stand up for itself and busy cowering in the corner while its elected “representatives” run roughshod over their values. Want conservative practices in government? Then grow some balls or ovaries and don’t vote for or support RINOs. Yes, there will be some short-term pain – but it’s a small thing; not like they’re asking us to die for our country or anything.

Boy, how I wish that was true. I don’t think all the ear marks they vote for are good for the country. They are on the right side of this issue, but we still need to hold their feet to the fire on their spending addiction.

Heres what is happening. On October 1, OCS and Shale prohibitions END! They have to get some kind of vote, and put those prohbitions back as an amendment to some bill.

Chances are they will try to put it in as an addition to a conference report on an Continuing resolution to keep the government going, because they have NOT done ANY of the Budget Bills.

Now, if they “compromise” they not only win polticly, and look like they are doing somthing… but they dont’ go into a Standoff with a Presidential Veto, backed by the vast majority of the American People…

Key is to short cirtuit the gang of ten, or the Dems win… stick to your guns Reps.

Udall and his pal Ken Salazar have also prevented votes on allowing further development of oil shale within Colorado, which has some of the nation’s richest shale fields. They claim that extraction of oil from shale is harmful to the environment.

I find it sadly amusing that CA Dems are fleeing the paradise they created in CA and yet don’t see the connection between the policies and politicians they supported and the havoc they created. Now that they have escape CA they continue to vote for the same insane policies in their new home. The WSJ had a story a few weeks ago about Montana turning blue due to new residents from the Left coast. The story reported how many locals were leaving the cities due to rising taxes. Liberals are like a swarm of locusts.

I question the timing.

Smart move; and to save my stomach I only watch the Networks, and anything NBC related, through the prism of HA, Newsbusters, et al.

They bite the hand that feeds them. But it really doesn’t surprise me, considering that we have a pretty large drop out rate and the average yearly income in our city is less than $35K. The ignorance surrounding this issue is truly astounding.

Hell, with what the school system is teaching these days, it is a toss up as to whether the students are better off if they graduate.

And I’ll bet, with drilling the major issue these days, that the GOP is movin’ on up…

If the stupid “gang of 10″ will get out of the way, this issue is a homerun for the GOP in November. If a bunch of GOP senators decide that now is the time to “come together,” then we’re screwed.

There should be no compromise with any democratic position that taxes the hell out of an industry already taxed to hell. There should be no compromise with any democratic position that refuses to open up ANWR and the OCS to drilling and exploration.
