Why do people want the president of the United States to improve their lives?

Amen!!! Who really wants an organization with the efficiency of the post office, the responsiveness of FEMA, and the caring of the Baggage Screeners running your life??

Obama thinks the Constitution is what you believe it to be.

And better to leave it up to the more knowledgeable to define it for you.

I have a very silly question: Why do people want the president of the United States to imrove their lives? I thought it was the job of the POTUS as CEO to run the country, keep it safe and free. I dont want Obama or any other corrupt politician including McCain “improving” that is, running my life and making my choices for me. I’m perfectly capable of screwing up my own life with no help from the government, thank you very much. Am I in the minority in that view?
But I guess there are lots of people in this country who are craving a nanny state. After all, if govenment takes responsibility for you then you wont have to be held accountable when things screw up, and things will screw up.

This deserves repeating. The role of the POTUS should be really simple. Preserving, protecting and defending the constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic. That should be the extent of it. Beyond that the POTUS needs to leave me the hell alone.

Presidents can seldom really do much to significantly improve the lives of large numbers of people, the can do things to make them significantly worse however.

Rich is defined as anybody (or family, I’m not sure which) making 250k or more.

I mean, Bill Clinton was a slick politician, but he had a record as Governor. The entire Obama campaign is like a practical joke on America.

No, I thought so too. And I said, it’s no wonder The Chosen One has turned McCain down on all his townhall invites. His unscripted townhall format is an EPIC FAIL!
