Feelgood video of the day: Obama helps care for senior citizen

posted at 4:23 pm on August 15, 2008 by Allahpundit

Say what you will about the man, but he’s not above pitching in when a helpless invalid needs assistance.

Nice to see him finally doing something to back up those claims of reaching across the aisle to work with Republicans, too.

I actually did a cartoon-style double take.

MadisonConservative on August 15, 2008 at 4:26 PM

Not funny.

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on August 15, 2008 at 4:26 PM

The YouTube comments are measured and appropriate as usual:

obama and mccain are CFR members !!!!!!! WW3 is very near

Okey dokey.

amerpundit on August 15, 2008 at 4:27 PM

She pronounced his name: Baa-wreck. That about sums him up.

carbon_footprint on August 15, 2008 at 4:28 PM

Those were some wierd gloves the old dude had on…

Think_b4_speaking on August 15, 2008 at 4:28 PM

Happy to help!

AP-email to the tips add. is being returned.

JiangxiDad on August 15, 2008 at 4:33 PM

Does Baracky always bring forty reporters with him on his visits to the hood?

Real humanitarians don’t worry about advertising their deeds.

Bishop on August 15, 2008 at 4:35 PM

Would this have happened without cameras present?
No.
He wouldn’t even visit our wounded troops in hospitals over in Europe, because he couldn’t bring in cameras with him to film it.
Just another political prop for Obama

ToddonCapeCod on August 15, 2008 at 4:35 PM

That’s the closest he’s ever come to having a real job.

landshark on August 15, 2008 at 4:37 PM

In the grand tradition of New Yorkers at momentous crossroads AP will be abstaining in November?

Stephen M on August 15, 2008 at 4:39 PM

Nice hood-speak there, Obama: “Waya Miss Beck..yo, waya Miss Beck”?

I fed the old man lunch though I noticed there wasn’t so much as a leaf of arugula, I used something called a broom and I got a blister on my pinkie while making the bed.

Then I climbed into my armored limo and told the driver to get the hell out of here because we didn’t want to be on the streets after the sun went down.

Bishop on August 15, 2008 at 4:41 PM

the hell was that?

trailortrash on August 15, 2008 at 4:41 PM

Now that is funny :)

JiangxiDad on August 15, 2008 at 4:49 PM

Yah, its the curse of the Hillary Clinton Patois Machine, and now its infected Baracky. I suppose he has to keep up his “I’m black…no really” facade for the inner-city masses.

Try shuffling your way through Compton sometime, Obama, you would actually need the bodyguards and armored limousine.

Bishop on August 15, 2008 at 4:50 PM

Change. Of adult diapers.

Ew.

Were they McCain’s?

alphie on August 15, 2008 at 4:53 PM

ummph, snicker, snort, BAAWWWWWWWWHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Kini on August 15, 2008 at 4:54 PM

Wow.

CP on August 15, 2008 at 4:55 PM

I wonder why Obama didn’t use his godlike abilities and magically make that man’s lunch to feed the entire neighborhood?

Better yet, Baracky should have taken the time to cast out the demons so the old guy could walk again.

Bishop on August 15, 2008 at 4:55 PM

How, uh, spontaneous.

Yes, and the, uh, camera crew just happened to, uh, be there.

Uh, touching.

Nichevo on August 15, 2008 at 4:56 PM

Ok, died in the wool conservative that I am, and as anti Obama as one can get, that was funny. Let’s not lose our sense of humor just because the funny ad favors the other side’s candidate.

Yeah, lighten up, everyone. Good lord.

Allahpundit on August 15, 2008 at 5:01 PM

Is it just me or does the old man look a bit like McCain????

RobG on August 15, 2008 at 5:04 PM

I had to look a little closer to see how they inserted McCain in there. It brought the funny I think.

Dawnsblood on August 15, 2008 at 5:15 PM

I don’t care who you are, that there be funny. Har dee har. John McCain is old, sheesh.

At least he’ll likely only be a one term POTUS.

kirkill on August 15, 2008 at 5:26 PM

Here in Chicago, with a bankrupt transit system, the Dems solved the problem by raising fares, raising taxes and giving all seniors free rides 24/7/365. Pandering to seniors is part of the Chicago Dem ploitician repitoire that Obama has learned.

dm60462 on August 15, 2008 at 5:38 PM

hahaha That was funny…

becki51758 on August 15, 2008 at 5:39 PM

It’s easier than trying to solve Georgia.

drjohn on August 15, 2008 at 5:48 PM

Perhaps McCain could issue a video of him helping Barack dry himself behind the ears.

snickelfritz on August 15, 2008 at 5:49 PM

Guess my comment went over the top (deleted).

Just tryin’ to make y’all laugh is all.

omnipotent on August 15, 2008 at 6:30 PM

Funny, esp. ’cause I thought this was going to be another post about Howard Dean.

Karl on August 15, 2008 at 7:33 PM

I’m not offended or anything, but I just didn’t find it funny.

Yeah, seeing McCain’s face on their almost got me to laugh a little, but then that was it.

Now, if they’d given the McCain guy some crazy lines or made him ram Obama with the wheelchair…

Esthier on August 15, 2008 at 8:03 PM

Were they McCain’s?

alphie on August 15, 2008 at 4:53 PM

That is the joke, alphie.

Esthier on August 15, 2008 at 8:10 PM

Now McCain’s team needs to mock-up a video of the Maverick changing a baby’s diapers in the hood …with Barry’s face cheesily CGI’d on it.

It needn’t be a crack baby.

profitsbeard on August 15, 2008 at 9:07 PM

*gasps, laughs*

That’d be da BOMB! LOL

inviolet on August 15, 2008 at 9:48 PM

Oh, I get it. It’s funny because McCain is old! HAHAHAHA! What a great, piercing point to make! No one, and I mean NO ONE, has been so clever as to mock McCain for being old.

ynot4tony2 on August 16, 2008 at 8:00 AM

First he took a trip around the world for a week to learn everything he needed to konw to become a foreign policy expert. Now he has spent an afternoon with the common folk and he is an expert on what we need. God bless him!

peacenprosperity on August 16, 2008 at 8:23 AM

How about a video of barry mopping out the storage closet in that chicago hospital where they leave babies to die.

peacenprosperity on August 16, 2008 at 8:26 AM

After 0:46, I had enough.

This is disgusting.

HotAirJosef on August 16, 2008 at 5:25 PM

This stuff is so phoney it defies rational belief. This is what’s turning me off on the political process more and more – the phoniness of it. American politics is really no different than professional wrestling in its phoniness.

After 0:46, I had enough.

This is disgusting.

HotAirJosef on August 16, 2008 at 5:25 PM

You made it longer than I did.
