Audio: Dean almost calls the GOP “the white party”

posted at 3:54 pm on August 15, 2008 by Allahpundit

Considering that he actually has called it a “white party” in the past (“They all look the same”), does this really constitute news? This has been a favorite theme of his for years, one often expressed in crude terms, occasionally in terms that inadvertently insult the audience he’s pandering to, but always with an eye towards reinforcing the perception that minorities who vote Republican are, to some extent, race traitors. And no wonder, given the assumptions that underlie the left’s read of McCain’s Britney ad. Follow that link and you’ll see I accused some of them of believing conservatives have a 1920s mentality; according to Dean-o, it’s more like the 1850s, which sets us up nicely for that healing national conversation on race Obama wants us to have.

Exit question: We know that Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice “don’t count” for reasons explained above, but what if Powell follows through on Kristol’s rumor and endorses The One? Will that make him sufficiently “authentic” again for Dean? Click the image to listen.

GOP almost calls Howard “I have a Scream” Dean “the wacked out party”.

MB4 on August 15, 2008 at 4:02 PM

I’m sorry, what opportunities have the democrats given to minorities because they are minorities, that the GOP hasn’t been instrumental in the creation or passage of? I’m not talking about financial mumbo jumbo stuff that helps or hurts income-deprived people. I’m talking about minority-specific items.

john1schn on August 15, 2008 at 4:02 PM

This is coming from a rich, white guy?

The Dems run the plantation, and decide who is black or not.

Maybe Powell is speaking at the Dem convention because he wants to be black again?

FRAK YOU Mr. Dean and the donkey you rode in on. Unlike a DemoCRAP I don’t give two S@!TS what color or gender someone is. A jackass is a jackass. Leadership, honor and integrity are not race or gender specific. These characteristics are person specific and traits I look for. I’m sorry you don’t have any good ideas but that is your & the DemoCRAP party’s problem. Jerkoff.

So what’s the flavor of the week for next week? If I’m not a racist, I’m a sexist. If I’m not a sexist, I’m a bible thumper. If I’m not a bible thumper, I’m a nazi. If I’m not a nazi, I’m insensitive.

When are people going open their eyes and minds to see what a bunch of douchebags are in the DemoCRAP party?

roux on August 15, 2008 at 4:09 PM

Almost said? He did say that the white party is the Republican party. Dean’s recorded remarks should bite him where the sun doesn’t shine.

I am so sick of Democrat identity politics and their triangulation on that basis in order to create divisiveness among groups that they later claim to unify.

Dean is a dunce, the perfect head of the party of fools.

How many minorities did Dean the Scream have in his cabinet when he was governor? Anybody remember?

From January 12, 2004 Salon.com:

During more than a decade as Vermont governor, Howard Dean did not appoint any blacks or Hispanics to his Cabinet, but minority leaders say it was not for lack of trying in the nearly all-white state.

None of Dean’s five cabinet secretaries or top commissioners was Hispanic or black during the more than 11 years he served in office, as he was forced to concede during a Democratic presidential debate Sunday.

You can read more at the link. Dean “tried” to appoint minorities, but his state was too white to obtain any. He did hire a “black woman” (the article’s term), to a “senior staff position. It was a part time job and she kept her full time job.

Dean, you effing hypocrite.

john1schn on August 15, 2008 at 4:11 PM

Let’s recap. Thus far in the presidential race, Obama and his surrogates have entered race into the discussion 4,788 times by last count.

dc Talk said it best:

Pardon me, your epidermis is showing
I couldn’t help but note your shade of melanin
I tip my hat to the colorful arrangement
Cause I see (the) beauty in the tones of our skin
We gotta come together, and thank the maker of us all
We’re colored people, and we live in a tainted place
We’re colored people, and they call us the human race
We’ve got a history so full of mistakes
And we are colored people who depend on a Holy Grace
A piece of canvas is only the beginning
It takes on character with every loving stroke
This thing of beauty is the passion of an artist’s heart
By God’s design, we are a skin kaleidoscope
We gotta come together, aren’t we all human after all?
Ignorance has wronged some races
And vengeance is the Lord’s
If we aspire to share this space
Repentance is the cure
Well, just a day in the shoes of a color blind man
Should make it easy for you to see
That these diverse tones do more than cover our bones
As a part of our anatomy

The Dems sure ain’t the ones that are Color Blind.

3. “Now that we’re on dog pee, we can have an interesting conversation about that. I do not recommend drinking urine…but if you drink water straight from the river, you have a greater chance of getting an infection than you do if you drink urine.”

4. “Not only are we going to New Hampshire … we’re going to South Carolina and Oklahoma and Arizona and North Dakota and New Mexico, and we’re going to California and Texas and New York! And we’re going to South Dakota and Oregon and Washington and Michigan. And then we’re going to Washington, D.C. to take back the White House, Yeeeeeaaaaaargh!”

Deano really shouldn’t be talking about Republicans as the white party, nor referencing any historical period around the Civil War, reason being mainly the founder of the Republican Party, Abraham Lincoln, and his Emancipation Proclomation, among other things.

Do you remember Jim Crow’s party affiliation Deano? Hint: It’s the same as Robert Byrd’s. They even wore the same funny uniform.

Let us also reflect on liberal power circles. The Congressional Black Caucus is a Democrat-only club. They shower contempt upon any black republicans, so no, I don’t really count them as anything more than tokens for socialism. Why use blackface when you have a bunch of subservient sheep to get the message out for you?

Even then, the CBC is laughably weak compared to the Clinton Machine, the Chicago machine, and the Kennedy machine, all of which share the common themes of super-white, super-rich, and super-marxist. Barack Obama is a nonfactor in his party, he’s the pretty dark face they are running. He is a puppet for the same racist members of the same party of institutional racism. He is the affirmative action candidate; a man so unqualified for the office they are trying to put him in that they have abandoned even the 100+ year old tradition of a floor vote. All because they know in an election based on merit, he is the guy getting the real applicants coffee and bagels.

Sunday, November 2, 2003 Posted: 1:04 PM EST (1804 GMT)

(CNN) — Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean sparked criticism from his rivals Saturday after invoking the Confederate flag in an outline of his election strategy.

“I still want to be the candidate for guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks,” the former Vermont governor said in an interview published Saturday in the Des Moines Register. “We can’t beat George Bush unless we appeal to a broad cross-section of Democrats.”

When it was in the news that Howard Dean wanted to be the chair of the DNC, some very smart people donated generously. It wasn’t a huge amount of cash, but it was significant.

In investing terms, Dean is a High Dividend Stock. Much in the same way that the folks at MOVE ON also richly pay out dividends of their own.

You are so right. The lily white led democrats ARE the party that consistently attracts minority voters. Still, it speaks volumes that Cracker Dean couldn’t see fit to be inclusive of ALL people, regardless of the level of melanin they possess.

He thinks it’s OK to trash an entire group of people, to feed his own guilt for not bringing REAL diversity to his cracker white state.

The reason democrats attract minority voters is because they court them. The Republicans haven’t learned how to change dialects the way Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Bill Clinton can. They don’t do well pandering for votes. Silly Republicans, they think that if you state the message, everyone should understand. Democrats know better. They know it’s all a show, and they are better actors than the Republicans.

Let’s see, the Democratic Party is led by an all-white, one female crew.

Then Howard Deans DNC Platform Committee includes a well known (in California) civil rights abuser to be on its platform committee and the NAACP supports the actions of him because they got PAID.

The DNC, Howard Dean and the Democrat leadership’s actions speak louder than words.
