We finally made the big time…

again.

We’ve actually been in the national news a lot lately for a county of about 30,000. Ya’ll might remember us as the county whose county commissioners voted to outlaw gays, at least that’s how the media painted it. They really just voted to reaffirm that gay marriage was not recognized in our county, but it was a pretty bad idea to even go there.

I’ve been seeing ads for Black Bear Cove for several years now, so I’m with SouthernDem on the need to note that.

Not saying Heath didn’t use his influence, but this is not reason enough to slander someone who has very conservative values. There are far more egregious abuses of power that go unnoticed or un-cared about daily.

Schuler is enriching himself by using public assets to make his land more valuable.

Reid has been enriching himself through fixed real estate transactions in Las Vegas.

It would be a much better result for the taxpayer if we could frankly ask these people how much it would cost to make them go away, and we could just cut them a check. Now we have to spend a Million Dollars to spin off a Hundred Thousand Dollars of graft. If we just paid them off directly, we could save 90%.

And Gus has had a solid NFL career. I think he is still on an NFL roster somewhere. Mike Ditka, for reasons known only to himself, decided to bring Shuler to New Orleans and Ditka briefly gave him the starting job. Shuler was just as bad with the Saints as with the Redskins. Yes, Shuler good post good numbers throwing at a tough Vanderbilt secondary but against an NFL defense, Heath was like a deer in the headlights. I think he took one look at LT and said “I’m outta here”.

What the hell is with the politicians from N. Carolina? Edwards now Shuler? Time for N. Carolinians to do some serious house cleaning. One down…..how many more to go?

Well, we do have Elizabeth Dole and Richard Burr, who don’t disappoint TOO often. There are other good Repubs, but you don’t hear about them often because they don’t do wrong. :)

But some of us have no control over idiot dems from other parts of the state electing morons like David Price or Shuler.

Democrats are winning in the South with conservative candidates while Republicans are trying to be more liberal. I would imagine this is par for the course for DC. How many millions has Pelosi voted herself?

How fortunate he just happens to sit on the committee that can make TVA’s life very, very uncomfortable. I’m sure that all of this is just coincidental, though. Shuler probably cares more about good water access policy than he does about millions of his own money going down the drain … right?
