It seems that even toddlers are unable to escape the pervasive U.S. elections. Three children’s books about the presidential race are expected to be published soon …
Brain washe ‘em while they’re young.
Gag is right Katie. If somebody wrote a kid’s book about God speaking to a Pubbie, the Left would go nuts!

Pathetic.

Yeah, he’s made history all right. Marketing execs around the world will revel in the power they have. Average intelligence, able to read a teleprompter, and nothing remotely resembling a position on anything. Instant President.

Wow!
Perhaps it would behoove us all to take a look at the signs of the coming of the anti-Christ before this Obamania gets too far along. /s/
People really revere this Obama guy like he’s some sort of holy annointed godhead? And what are they going to do when he loses in November? There’s going to be a run on purple cloth, black T-shirts and black running pants and Nike “Cortez” running shoes. Better stock up now.
coldwarrior on August 6, 2008 at 10:58 PM
I personally prefer Obama saying “I want to be President because I was hit in the head

I can remember when kids read actual literature. Don’t boys need role models like King Arthur or Aragorn or some other valorous, courageous knight? Or Churchill? James Bond, even?
If I want to teach kids about a cool guy who was a person of color, I’d go with this . I tried pushing this on a (obviously much) younger brother but it didn’t work out. Of course, there’s always stories of real “children of hope,” like, say Booker T. Washington. But he actually had a coherent worldview that wasn’t subject to polling, so he’s out.

Intelligence is a prerequisite for getting into Ivy League now? And just having been there means you’re pretty smart? Somebody needs to go tell the Kos Kids that they need to stop making fun of GWB. I nominate you, alphie.
jimmy the notable on August 6, 2008 at 11:10 PM
P.S.
Drink that in, people. It takes her months to write a children’s book, but her fervor for Obama let her write forced rhymes and sentimental garbage in record time! He’s a miracle worker! Kerouac needed drugs and booze to crank out (semi-)coherent, adult-level books in weeks; all she needs is the Obamessiah.
P.P.S. 6 months for a children’s book? I’ve never tried writing one, but really?

Hold on, hold on, I feel a miracle coming on. In the form of (a bit artificial, to be honest) rhyming verse, no less:
Wee Barry had a talk with Hope
‘Twixt snortin’ coke and smokin’ dope
Then God Himself bent from on high
To make Wee One the Chosen Guy
A book was written for the tots
Known as the Obamabots
A flip, a flop, a blatant lie
There’s nothing these dolts will not buy!

If his supporters say God talks to him and that he will become a great leader who will change everything, why do they complain when some people refer to him as the Messiah. I mean isn’t that exactly what the Bible implies Messiahs are supposed to do. (Of course, in Deuteronomy, it says false prophets should be put to death.)

Another children’s book…this one seems aimed at elevating the Obama figure above another general who just takes orders:
A TALE OF TWO GENERALS
Illustrated book of a Fairy Tale of two competing generals that join up to fight off an invasion. Moral is that power must be combined with intelligence to achieve success.
In the story, Commander One was born at a secret military base at the foot of a sacred mountain in Hawaii and double rainbows appeared at his birth to signify both hope and audacity.

I am an Ivy grad, so yes, deifying is great. Seriously, Obama is a smart guy but I think he is intellectually lazy. He never wrote any law review articles (even as a law professor!), never worked a real job (community organizer?), and as a legislator, never took any leadership role. Some think that’s because he is a “stealth” socialist, and that might be true. But I smell laziness first and foremost. Is he ready to be your President??

Soma is a mild hallucinogen that makes it possible for everyone to be blissfully oblivious. It has no short-term side effects and induces no hangover; however, long-term abuse leads to death by respiratory failure.
Why is it that I keep coming back to Brave New World whenever I read about Obama.
BohicaTwentyTwo on August 7, 2008 at 8:18 AM
Hand raised.
And unlike the Obamas, I didn’t get any points added to my admission score based on the color of my skin.

Oh Dear Lord, I don’t know what to say. Maybe that’s why I’ve had “Children of the Corn” in the back of my mind.
Connie on August 7, 2008 at 9:18 AM
You know, we can laugh, vomit, choke, pass wind, gag or perform a variety of other involuntary reactions to this kind of tripe, however, the truth is that about half of America has bought into Obama’s carefully crafted image. We may see him for what he is and scratch our heads as to how this scam could escape others, yet tens of millions of leg tingling Americans are smitten by this fraud. That’s more disturbing to me than Obama himself. Its almost like someone dropped a stupid pill into McDonald’s secret sause. Yea, that’s the ticket.
Syd B. on August 7, 2008 at 9:28 AM
Ok, but does God take advice from Hussein Obama? Just wondering.
I’m sick of this jay bird, been sick of him for a long time. I pray to God he never gets elected to POTUS.
abcurtis on August 7, 2008 at 9:44 AM
Yeah, I was smart enough but not rich enough. And had to work my way through UT. Not as a ‘community organizer’ (whaterver the f*ck that means) but cooking, cleaning, whatever I could find. Despite all that, I was a software trainer for almost 8 years and I know I’m a better public speaker than Obama. He may give great helmet to the teleprompter but he’s a** on his own. I live for going off script. And I didn’t say he was stupid; but I’m not going to agree he’s particularly smart given his associations with domestic terrorists and black separatists.
austinnelly on August 7, 2008 at 11:55 AM
What prattle…but a good look at the heart of liberalism. Feelings are more important than substance.
