I too have to question the “spontaneity” of this one. Obama’s track record with off-script actions are well documented and, for the most part, have resulted numerous verbal stumbles.

Anyone else notice he looked down at his notes in the middle of the pledge? As if making sure he had the words right.

It is a pledge to the flag, not the government. Anyway the government is supposed to get their powers from the people . I made a pledge to the government when I enlisted in the military and I did it freely.

Thats a misquote. It was Samuel Johnson who said “Patriotism is usually the refuge of the scoundrel” and it was in reference to the “Patriot Party” wing of the Whig Party, not a comment on patriotism in general.

Remember that clown that asked McCain at a town meeting if it was true he called his wife a c*nt? Marty Parrish claimed he was a simple, humble Baptist minister. It turned out he was no such thing.
