Video: Obama heckled over the pledge of allegiance

I don’t mind beating up on him over the flag lapel pin because (a) it’s an issue entirely of his own making and (b) his motives in wearing and not wearing it are so cynical that he deserves some grief. But I hate the fact that he takes flak about the pledge for having once absentmindedly neglected to put his hand over his heart. I’ve done that too, I’m sure, so add me to the “disloyal” category. The worst part of this may be how stupid it is: Even if you think his feeling for America is such that he might blanch intuitively at saying the words (which I don’t), surely he’s willing and able to feign a smile and force himself through it in the name of getting elected. So what does it prove? Nothing. But the tool who showed up today at his town hall needed to see it and Obama couldn’t risk getting indignant. All things considered, he played it pretty well.

Does anyone not think with all of Obama’s gaffs that the Democratic party behind the scene big wigs who are pulling his strings and signing the checks don’t have every situation controlled, planned, ready for a photo shot moment, to either duck and cover from an issue, or address it an move on……………..?

Like they say in Niger………….. Plllluuuuuueeeeaaasssseeee.

On the subject of plants…

Remember that clown that asked McCain at a town meeting if it was true he called his wife a c*nt? Marty Parrish claimed he was a simple, humble Baptist minister. It turned out he was no such thing. He was a campaign worker for Joe Biden and an Obama supporter working for the Huffington Post! See Gateway Pundit’s coverage: http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/search?q=Marty+Parrish

So excuse me for questioning this little skit from the Obama campaign but it is not at all rare for the Dems to use plants and lie their asses off about it.

The Dems lie like hell. That’s what they do. They do it because they believe power matters far more than issues or truth.

Patriotism is usually the refuge of the scoundrel. He is the man who talks the loudest.

Thats a misquote. It was Samuel Johnson who said “Patriotism is usually the refuge of the scoundrel” and it was in reference to the “Patriot Party” wing of the Whig Party, not a comment on patriotism in general.

It is a pledge to the flag, not the government. Anyway the government is supposed to get their powers from the people . I made a pledge to the government when I enlisted in the military and I did it freely.

Military is different.

I too have to question the “spontaneity” of this one. Obama’s track record with off-script actions are well documented and, for the most part, have resulted numerous verbal stumbles.

Anyone else notice he looked down at his notes in the middle of the pledge? As if making sure he had the words right.
