My kids used to try this when they were four or five or so. They don’t any more. They are adults now.

When an adult uses this sort of thing…don’t believe asny other word he/she says. It is called equivocation…is the same as prevarication. (Quibbling, for those of you familiar with the US Military Academy Honor Code, right up there with Lie, Cheat or Steal.) If you try to nail someone down on something they said, they will almost always fall back on that “well I said probably” as if that will get them off the hook. It is also a common tactic among common street hustlers. But, when you see someone so facile in the routine use of equivocation in their speech, as is Obama…it shows a pathology.

“So I told them something simple,” Obama said. “I said, ‘You know what? You can inflate your tires to the proper levels and that if everybody in America inflated their tires to the proper level, we would actually probably save more oil than all the oil we’d get from John McCain drilling right below his feet there, or wherever he was going to drill.’”

Note the use of “actually probably”.

Does this idiot actually think we’re really that uninformed? Obama has chicken shitted out of having an open debate with McCain and now he says McCain should debate him… What a freak-n took this joker is. A town-hall format for a debate is a manly forum. It’s no wonder Obama wants no part of this type of forum, as he will have no one to write his answers for him, plus it requires a level of experience and knowledge that Obama knows he doesn’t have. This forum also requires confidence and some balls; Obama’s confidence is dwindling, and the man has no balls.

I know one voter next door who saw this. Undecided. I’ve been needling him playfully over the past week or so about even thinking about voting Obama. Was outside a little bit ago trying to save what little lawn I have left after two weeks of no rain. He was doing likewise. He piped up, “Did ya see what Obama said about you guys?” He then said, “That seals it. Guess I’ll vote for McCain. The arrogance of that bast*rd saying stuff like that!”

Absolutely nothing scientific about this poll of one…but looks like McCain may not “win” this election, but there is every reason (and hope) that Obama will “lose” this election.

But the other thing is, they are making fun of a step that every expert says would absolutely reduce our oil consumption by three to four percent.

Now let’s look at what Obama says here…

In order figure we could “absolutely reduce our oil consumption by three or four percent”, one would have to assume that everybody in America is running around on underinflated tires. Obama assumes that we are too stupid to keep our tires inflated without being told.

And that, in a nutshell, is the difference between Republicans and Democrats. Republicans assume, more or less, that people can take care of themselves and figure out the convoluted matter of proper tire inflation without a lot of intervention. Democrats, on the other hand, start with the assumption that everybody is incapable of keeping their tires inflated properly, and we must be told by the government how to read a tire gauge.

Americans should pick the approach they prefer and vote accordingly. As for me, I don’t appreciate being insulted by an idiot who has probably never handled a tire gauge in his entire life.

Obama’s attempting to change the assertion at hand.

And with the media’s help it’s going to work. I just came home from the gym and CNN ran a 5 minute segment basically glossing over Obama’s tire comment and leaving McCain looking stupid.
