I realize I’ve asked this in vain a time or two before, but here goes again: shouldn’t major network commentators (at least those not specifically labeled ala Hannity & Colmes or Crossfire) at least sort of PRETEND to be non-partisan and objective?

Of course we all know they’re not. But don’t they have to at least pretend? How the hell does MSNBC’s major talking head float the idea of running for a Democratic slot … and then be taken seriously during interviews (or God forbid as a debate moderator)?

Please to explain. Me no understand.

I’m all for the idea of him running, incidentally. We’ll be deep enough in the hole by 2010 that losing another Senate seat won’t matter…

What a pessimist!

There’s no way on Earth McCain loses this November. And the Congressional Dems aren’t doing so swimmingly. By 2010, the GOP will control Congress again.
