Sounds like my family and friends from the democrat steel town I grew up in near Pittsburgh. Going back for the annual golf tournament soon, and I can tell you, the Obama dislike nearly unanimous and vociferous, even amongst the people who do not like Bush.

I don’t believe the polls showing Obama with a 7-8 point lead. ACORN better really “get the vote out” in Philly if he expects to win PA.

The totalitarian energy plan he’s talking about right now isn’t going to help either.

My personal experiences over the past month, are telling me that not only does the average American “get it”; but that there may be a large, unreported-by the in-the-tank-MSM-for-Obama crowd, backlash against Obama, that may not show up, anywhere, until Election day.

You know what? I think you’re right. The media thinks the American people are not noticing these things because they “traditionally” don’t pay attention until September and the debates. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In the past few weeks, I’ve heard some interesting things in my neck of the woods. (TX) My husband comes one evening from work telling me about the purging of Obama’s Web site – about which I had not spoken to him. Then, a friend of ours starts ranting about the anti-Americanism of the press – and of Obama! I’ve also seen a few Obama stickers, but not many. In the past two weeks, I’ve seen a few more McCain stickers popping out. My next-door neighbor thinks Obama and the Democrats are fools with respect to the oil crisis – and he’s an accountant. Something IS indeed going on, but the media choose to pretend it doesn’t exist.

The MSM are setting themselves up for an embarrassment of Kaelian proportions. “That can’t be possible! No one I knew voted for McCain!”

An Obama veep will be an important addition, but a McCain veep isn’t going to make a difference. I almost wish McCain would pick Palin or Jindal, just so some of the McCain-deranged (and I say that with love!) might take that “second look” at the Mav.

So, I’m on family vacation from Atlanta, up in central PA.

Yearly family reunion time.

The “Pittsburgh” side of the family is heavily represented.

Blue-collar, Patriotic, working class, farmers, Military Vets, mostly white, but some Latin American mixed in.

Democratic for 60+ years; since the New Deal, FDR etc.

Never met a Democrat they didn’t love; reflexively voting for everyone: McGovern, Carter, Dukkakis, Mondale, Clinton, Gore, and even John Kerry.

After dancing around the topic, due to “PD-ness” for a day, the absolute RESENTMENT comes pouring out in dozens of conversations over two days on Obama:

“Cold day in hell before I vote for him…”
“DANGEROUS”
“Most Dangerous…”
“Fraud”
“Liar”
“Hollow Suit”
“Marxist”
“Can’t believe what has happened to our Party”

Now, I have used those phrases and comments vis a vis Obama in the past.

But this WASN’T me!

Just like my brother, who had been a dyed-in-the-wool Clintonite for the past 16 years, and who has told me he’s voting for McCain; the relatives at the family reunion have NEVER voted “Republican” in 60 years!

Just like the Asian community down in Atlanta, a natural Democratic special interest group that is saying they think “Obama” is dangerous; I’m starting to think the National Polls are NOT picking up on the dangerous undercurrents out there, AGAINST Obama.

Yeah, especially since the DNC begins the day after the closing ceremonies. It’ll be non-stop coverage until then.

I’d like to see McLame choose either Palin or Michael Steele, but not until the last second available at the convention, on prime-time TV, building media suspense to an excruciating, 24/7 apex of speculation. Make them worry and squirm (at least as much as I will be)

This would turn democrap identity-politiks on it’s head with as little time possible for the enemy to respond to a new Republican ‘celebrity’ candidate in the mix. (Obama fatigue is already a real factor) Either choice splits a key democrap constituency to the core, and capitalizes on the sad state of the glib, uninformed “American Idol” electorate who vote on emotion rather than understanding.

It will do no harm to cede Obambi the 3 days of media fawning before the Repubs get started – hell, that’s just MSM business as usual. But everyone loves suspense, so build it, use it and then surprise everyone with a bold, conservative, identity-politics equalizer. Please?
