The Northern Alliance Radio Network will be on the air today, with our six-hour-long broadcast schedule starting at 11 am CT. The first two hours features Power Line’s John Hinderaker and Chad and Brian from Fraters Libertas. Mitch and I hit the airwaves for the second shift from 1-3 pm CT, and King Banaian and Michael Broadkorb have The Final Word from 3-5. If you’re in the Twin Cities, you can hear us on AM 1280 The Patriot, or on the station’s Internet stream if you’re outside of the broadcast area.
Today, Mitch and I kick off August by looking forward to the Republican convention and the State Fair. We’ll look back at the week’s stories in politics, too, and take a look at Barack Obama’s precipitous fall in the polls. Did John McCain’s ridicule get under Team Obama’s skin? We’ll also talk about the historical event yesterday in which one party tried to evict the other from the floor of the House, and discuss energy policy.
And then we’ll make fun of Sitemeter, too.
Be sure to call 651-289-4488 to join the conversation! And assuming we can access it this time, join Mitch and I in chat:

Hey, Ed, I miss sitemeter. I watch it to see which stories are being accessed and from where. ;)

Ed: Would you ask John and Mitch to explain Senate Resolution 511 (April 08) recognizing that John Sidney McCain, III, is a natural born citizen.
Senate Resolutoin 511 was sponsored by Senator McCaskill and co-sponsored by Senators Leahy, Obama, Coburn, Clinton and Webb. Why did Senators McCaskill and Obama reportedly attempt to insert the following Clause?
“Whereas previous presidential candidates were born outside of the United States of America and were understood to be eligible to be President;”
Why did Senators McCaskill and Obama reportedly attempt to remove:
“Whereas John Sidney McCain, III, was born to American citizens on an American military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936”
If this is true, Senators McCaskill and Obama tried to create a blanket Resolution covering all Foreign Born presidential candidates. Why?

Some of us have been questioning the implications of such all along…I was silent on it but the thought was rolling around in MY head….ummmm…good link… Were there any other links or knowlegable comments on the topic?
It’s almost as though McCain said, “if you don’t press I won’t”. Scary thought!

jerry…
Lets see what happens in September and the World Series. Who knows, maybe our own “Barry” Richard and Ted Olson are warming up in the bullpen?
