I think the recent McCain ads are terrific in their humor. There is, however, a very serious substantive point related the McCain ads that needs to be made. The McCain ads mock Obama for attempting to create what may be called a cult of personality. Obama is a socialist, and one of the characteristics of a socialist government is that the leader seeks to have a cult of personality — for some examples, Stalin’s Soviet Union, Mao’s China, Castro’s Cuba, Kim Il Sung’s and Kim Il Jong’s North Korea. The effort to create a cult of personality on Obama’s part gives a strong clue to what he is about.

Mav should have his ad people put one together than contrasts the difference between The One’s delivery of his prepared speechs vs his bumbling fumbling, “ums, ehs, I mean, etc.” The difference would be very stark and is just the right stuff for video and sound bites. Really would show just how empty that suit really is.

What a great idea he has for that too. Give a handout to everyone, and bill the oil companies. I’m sure the oil companies can’t possibly find a way to shift the increased cost of their product off to anyone else; so they’ll have to pay it themselves too…

Brilliant.

Good thing he didn’t do that with an industry that sells a product or service to consumers, or the price of the goods or services would rise with the increased cost.

Finally we’ve found the one thing that nobody ever buys… oil.

THIS SERIES OF ADS is hitting the Obama cult of personality in the heart. Let us remember that the balance of power in Washington D C since 1960 has been the Supreme Court Majority which has enacted a continuous Constitutional Amendment to our way of life by 5+ Justices with no popular votes ever taken.Therefore WE MUST NOT SURRENDER THE PRESIDENCY IN 2008, no matter how squishy McCain has acted during his Senate days.Let us Swallow our pride and fight for his victory if only to keep this Constitutional Republic we have enjoyed since 1789.

I once read John McCain was the a postmodern politician, not taking things seriously. I brushed it aside at the time but lately I think that guy (Whoever he was) was on to something.

This ad was quite funny though, much more so than the celebrity one. But shouldn’t there be some sense of dignity and decorum for a man in his position?
