Mind-bendingly ironic quote of the day

This race baiting BS strategy worked for St. Barack to tar Hillary Clinton. But, we have his holiness's number, and he's not going to get away with it again.

"I personally would want to see our tragic history acknowledged... we've got some very sad and difficult things to account for, I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it's Native Americans or African-American issues or reparations, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds." --Barack Obama

obama said McCain should be more concerned with the issues than…. in regards to the celebrity ad McCain ran, but THEN BHO said MCCAIN should DEBATE THE ISSUES.
DEBATE?
SNOBAMA has ran away from ALL debates, even after saying “anytime anywhere.
Listen to Husseins comments on this, its astoundingly arrogant and stupid.

Oh, and if Barry wants Mac to focus on addressing the challenges the President is expected to take on, that's fine too. It's a great time for an ad quoting wannabe President Barry's tire inflation solution to the "challenge" of the energy crisis. The only thing that's missing from that solution is how inflating one's tires will heat cold houses this winter, so someone needs to ask him about that and roll the tape.

“I think they should probably be a little less paranoid about parsing every word we say and a little more focused on actually addressing the challenges that Americans expect the president of the United States to take on,” he said.

In addition to being an Orwellian attempt to equate the truth with paranoia, this is a very poorly written statement (kinda like using a double negative).

It's the Obama camp who are "paranoid" that his own words are being parsed.

And should I mention that the word "paranoid" is 1960's pot-smoking lingo, and/or a word commonly employed by valley girls and other clueless teenagers?

I think what Barry was referring to was the fact that he does not wear a powdered wig or have a beard, so he doesn’t look like the presidents on our currency. What else could he have been referring to?

Mallard T. Drake on July 31, 2008 at 10:48 PM

I think it's because he's not green (like on the currency, not his experience!)

Someone should ask this gumby for his definition of "parsing".

I'll bet his answer would be most fascinating.

Race issue moves to center of campaign

Actually, it was the media that created this elephant in the room way back when. They introduced and promoted Obama with the question of whether America is ready for a black candidate (just as they asked whether America is ready for a Mormon in the office regarding Romney). The message about Hillary was framed in the gender arena.

The media created the narrative; the Dems picked it up and are running with it.

Not to mention how the democrats are locking out republicans out of the local senate and council races. But I digress....

I find it interesting how others speak for Obama. The messiah seems to be shrouded by minions while he props up his sainthood.

If the republicans are growing a pair, then it's about time.

Jim Jordan, a Democratic consultant, add[ed] that McCain's charge that Obama was playing the race card was a straightforward attempt to highlight Obama's race. "I assume this is what passes for cleverness in the hapless McCain campaign — that they think somehow it seems less racist to call Obama a racist."

Maybe Obama meant that unlike the founding fathers, he doesn't use snuff.
Or it could have been a delicate reference to Washington's weird undies.

Here’s “less paranoid” : HuffPo blogger in lead article says stating Obama is popular in Europe is right-wing code for “GAY!” (capitalization and exclamation point his).

Code for "GAY"? I thought that "popular in Europe" was code for him having bad teeth or eating snails.

I woke up in Bizarro World. I flew to the Big Island and back and was away from my computer (and the tv) for 9 hours and I now see I will be going to bed in Bizarro World. What is the most BIZARRE is the Repubs fighting back for a change. I got so tired of the Clinton folks saying one outrageous lie after another which went unchecked (except for Rush) and somehow became "truth". About time we hit them back.

Somebody should get a screen cap of the Reuters article that Nelsa linked before it disappears:

Headline: Obama says Republicans will use race to stoke fear

Date: Fri Jun 20, 2008 7:19pm EDT

By Caren Bohan

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Reuters) - Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama said on Friday he expects Republicans to highlight the fact that he is black as part of an effort to make voters afraid of him.

"It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy," Obama told a fundraiser in Jacksonville, Florida. "We know what kind of campaign they're going to run. They're going to try to make you afraid.

"They're going to try to make you afraid of me. He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black?"

He said he was also set for Republicans to say "he's got a feisty wife," in trying to attack his wife Michelle.

I think it would make a, er, lovely ad, if there was audio or video shot at this event, don't you?

In case we forget, Obama used the race card in Jacksonville Florida on June 20th. He said,”They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

Now the most recent version somewhat mirrors today’s speech where he says,”…So what they’re going to try to do is make you scared of me,” Obama said. “You know, `he’s not patriotic enough, he’s got a funny name,’ you know, `he doesn’t look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.”

The difference between the two is that today he left out the phrase, “…did I mention that he black.”

Who played the race card? Obama did.
