In addition to being an Orwellian attempt to equate the truth with paranoia, this is a very poorly written statement (kinda like using a double negative).

It’s the Obama camp who are “paranoid” that his own words are being parsed.

And should I mention that the word “paranoid” is 1960’s pot-smoking lingo, and/or a word commonly employed by valley girls and other clueless teenagers?

I think what Barry was referring to was the fact that he does not wear a powdered wig or have a beard, so he doesn’t look like the presidents on our currency. What else could he have been referring to?

Race issue moves to center of campaign

Actually, it was the media that created this elephant in the room way back when. They introduced and promoted Obama with the question of whether America is ready for a black candidate (just as they asked whether America is ready for a Mormon in the office regarding Romney). The message about Hillary was framed in the gender arena.

The media created the narrative; the Dems picked it up and are running with it.

Not to mention how the democrats are locking out republicans out of the local senate and council races. But I digress….

I find it interesting how others speak for Obama. The messiah seems to be shrouded by minions while he props up his sainthood.

If the republicans are growing a pair, then it’s about time.

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Reuters) – Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama said on Friday he expects Republicans to highlight the fact that he is black as part of an effort to make voters afraid of him.

“It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy,” Obama told a fundraiser in Jacksonville, Florida. “We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid.

“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

He said he was also set for Republicans to say “he’s got a feisty wife,” in trying to attack his wife Michelle.

I think it would make a, er, lovely ad, if there was audio or video shot at this event, don’t you?

In case we forget, Obama used the race card in Jacksonville Florida on June 20th. He said,”They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

Now the most recent version somewhat mirrors today’s speech where he says,”…So what they’re going to try to do is make you scared of me,” Obama said. “You know, `he’s not patriotic enough, he’s got a funny name,’ you know, `he doesn’t look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.”

The difference between the two is that today he left out the phrase, “…did I mention that he black.”

Who played the race card? Obama did.
