Yeah, too many people forget that when you comment on the internet, you're on a stage.

Another funny thing on that old blog--I think here there are so many threads, people drop old ons and don't go bother to go back, but on that blog with only 4-5 a day sometimes people would keep arguing for days on an old thread. Everyone would have forgotten about it until someone would mention, hey so and so are still arguing from last week. It could be highly amusing to see.

On another blog I commented for weeks with a couple of people on an old thread. It was fun, but it was more like a history trivial pursuit kind of thing and nobody cared. You can always start a free WordPress blog yourself, but WP will want at least an e-mail. I honestly don't remember what other info they wanted to start up.

Maybe this won't work then. It is fun to come back here I do it just to look around. I'm always by my self so I don't comment too much. Just once , well twice on two different threads after they were closed for a while. Weird I know.

Bmore, from having done some blogging you should know that on the admin side of a blog there's a comments page on which all comments can be seen with the newest ones at the top no matter which thread they're posted on or how old the thread is. The time the comment is made puts it into the que surrounded by comments made immediately prior or after.

That means that even if other commenters never come on an old thread, a moderator can glance down any comments made recently and see what's being said without going back and forth between threads. It's an easy way to moderate if you need to do so. That's not to say that will be done, but you need to know it's a possibility. The admin side here may be different with bells and whistles, but that's what I've seen on other blogs.

Romney is my choice, and I'd be pleased to see him on the ticket. One of his virtues is that he is, for a politician, squeaky clean-no troubling Ted Stevens type skeletons in his closet. He was already vetted during the primary season, so there is little mud that can be thrown at him. That won't stop the Dems from attempting to demonize him; that's who they are. I'm still witt Mitt.

I like the attack dog theory that Cost puts forth, I'm starting to think that combined with a "drill, drill, drill" message will be the negative/positive path to victory. Not sure Mitt is the guy to do it, however. He ran a lot of effective contrast ads, but I don't really remember him delivering a lot of good zingers in the debates or on the stump. Somebody needs to keep needling Obama, however, the guy is so arrogant and thin-skinned he'll start cracking over it. Come to think of it, a pro-drilling woman nicknamed "The Barracuda" might just be the perfect vehicle for that role, although personally I can't imagine being VP with 5 kids that aren't adults yet. Perhaps Carly Fiorina?

Really? (Mitt’s counties are shaded Yellow)

I’d feel more comfortable if he didn’t have such limited regional appeal.

It was said above ’something about him turns voters off’. Maybe that’s true. For a guy who spent million$, i wouldn’t exactly call the above link doing ‘well’

It gets even more limited if you ignore the caucus states, which have very limited participation, and just look at the primary states. Among the states he won, Nevada, Wyoming, Maine, Montana, Minnesota, Colorado, North Dakota, and Alaska were all caucuses; the only actual primaries Mitt won were his "home" states of Massachusetts, Michigan, and Utah. Some of the other yellowish states on that map, such as Iowa, were states that he actually lost. Now, some of that vast green and blue expanse was filled in after Mitt dropped out, but that doesn't negate the fact that his appeal was limited to caucusgoing activists (not regular pull-the-lever voters) in a few states. There is no real evidence for his electoral strength in any of these places, and polls have shown him to be at the very best neutral, and at the very worst catastrophic for the McCain campaign's appeal nationally.

McCain should pick someone around 50, soon, and say that he’ll only run for one term.

And if he picks someone no one likes?

Mr. Wednesday Night on July 31, 2008 at 3:00 AM

The guy they fired, an ex-relative. Was a trooper caught on the job drinking in his patrol car and shooting moose from his state patrol car (two separate incidents). A real winner.
He is fighting his dismissal.
Another plus for her, get rid of bad cops.

They have trotted out Romney several times now, and put him back in the stables. He just doesn't have "it". He can win in a liberal state by running away and dissing conservatives, but that's how liberals think. He can't, for some reason, connect with the conservatives, he is too distant, or they remember him turning there back on them, or his whatever, but he doesn't connect.
The irony is Lieberman connects, but he is way off the conservative charts.
Pawlenty is just "white bread"
Huck is worthless and useless, except maybe as a gag writer.
Palin is the closest to being what the conservatives want.
Articulate
Intelligent
Woman
Mom
Dedicated Mom (chose a down syndrome baby over abortion)
Wife
Conservative
Not afraid of the establishment
Energy goddess
Her husband is a man, worked in the oil fields, and is a commercial fisherman.
She fishes, hunts, and her nickname when she was a basketball star...barracuda
few negatives, maybe weak on experience...but hey, raising four kids is what a lot of women need to do. Being a mom is not such a bad occupation when dealing with the political children of our country.
