Me and a guy I used to work with knew this so we decided to perform an experiment.

We “made” some stale bread at home by leaving it out overnight on the table. Then, we cut off the crusts and displayed them elegantly on a serving dish with small bowl of yellow mustard in the middle. By the end of the day, everyone of those crusts (and most of the mustard) were gone.

We never told anyone and I still laugh about it almost 20 years later.

That is indeed the Randy’s Donuts shown in the picture, which was taken on the northeast corner of La Cienega Blvd. and Manchester Blvd.
