"ebrown2 I don’t think you know what you are talking about."

It's a question of -fact.-

Romney got beaten like a rented mule by the rickety organization of the oldest man ever to run for President, a man absolutely detested by the conservative core of his party.

He barely kept ahead of the even more rickety and underfunded organization of a socially liberal character like the Huckster, despite having the advantages of higher name recognition and a vastly larger war-chest.

Romney hasn't shown himself to be politically competent in a context that is reasonably favorable and knowledgeable about business, i.e. the Republican primaries. The press will have a field day with him in the general election, since he will not have the time or the media access to explain himself.

"They are the most positive “can do” people and spend their days thinking about making the world more efficient, more profitable, creating more jobs, and creating products & technology to help the world."

Good on them. I'll give them credit for knowing better than wasting $100 million on being Steve Forbes II, Electric Boogaloo in the current electoral climate.

You seem to have the insane delusion that I'm a Marxist/Populist. I'm quite the opposite, a pro-capitalist realist who knows what's going to happen to a down-sizer dealing with an electorate that is NOT literate in economics.

If not Mitt Romney, then I've another suggestion:

John Boehner of Ohio, Minority Leader in the House of Representatives.

I just heard him on Laura's show, and while he's somewhat boring, he's extremely competent, and a conservative. And might help hold Ohio in November.

big·ot –noun a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

[Origin: 1590–1600; < MF (OF: derogatory name applied by the French to the Normans), perh. < OE bī God by God]

I'm not using in the word flippantly Saint Olaf. You fit the description above. And any logical, reasonable thinking person who reads your screeds against Romney's Mormonism knows it.

People(like Sheryl) who use liberal catch phrases like bigot flippantly, to describe someone who holds any conviction whatsoever on what is truth or untruth, will undoubtedly find (upon closer examination) that they are in fact, far left liberals themselves and surely belong in the obama camp.

Then again, maybe that is why they like romney so much...the man has no convictions whatsoever(that we know of)..he will say or do anything to get into power!

Who knows what he'll do after elected?

He's like the barrack hussein obama of the right!

ebrown2 I don't think you know what you are talking about. I worked in a management consulting office similar to Romney's for 8 years. The people that work in this field are some of this countries best and brightest.

They are the most positive "can do" people and spend their days thinking about making the world more efficient, more profitable, creating more jobs, and creating products & technology to help the world.

The fact that Mitt Romney rose to the highest level and became as successful in this arena is reason enough for him to be not only McCain's VP choice but POTUS someday.

Maybe if you lived with that kind of optimism & competence on a day to day basis you might not spout that old class warfare rhetoric so easily.

Big mistake. Adios, John McCain.

Could have chosen someone different and exciting. But no, not John McCain.

Oh well. I'm packed and ready for the wilderness. See y'all 'round the campfire.

"Competent" enough to blow 100 million plus on less than 300 delegates? The man is utterly plastic. It may be necessary to slash jobs and increase business profits, but that doesn't make one qualified for high office or even electable, especially during an economic downturn.

No one in this round world is owed a living or a loving. The Romney-acs should keep the latter in mind about their loser of a candidate.

Oh please no one who reads Hot Air needs to quote anything to you Saint Olaf. You are a bigot.

BTW outside of Romney's competence as a reason for him being selected VP, I think Saint Olaf and ebrown2 and their Mormon bigotry and class warfare rhetoric would make for an exciting VP choice.

Identity politics is what has been fueling Obama and the Democrats races. Well here is a bigotry that McCain can use to get some free press. I actually think the evangelicals who won't vote for Romney have given McCain a social issue to address the nation with.

The first time a reporter asks him is he worried about losing some evangelicals with his choice of Romney, he could say something to the effect; I would rather lose an election than have religious bigotry tell me who the best man for the Vice Presidency is. He could say I don't care if he's is a Mormon, Muslim, Hindu,Jewish Mitt Romney is the most qualified man for the job.

Get a clue man.

Bigot IS the politically correct term of choice for the liberal moral relativist like yourself.

If you say ANYTHING is Absolutely True...you are a bigot according to liberals such as yourself.

Take your liberal moral relativism/PCism back to the dem party where it belongs.

<em>The dems would sure love Romney to be VP candidate.

Then they could have a legitimate way to portray ALL republicans are RACIST, white billionaires via the mormons long history of racism against blacks, that even resides in their scriptures to this very day.

You are sick. Never mind the racist, bigoted behavior of people just like you against Catholics. Believe me, I've had my fill of people like you. Perhaps if Romney is selected, it will marginalize you to the cesspool where you belong.

You are sick. Never mind the racist, bigoted behavior of people just like you against Catholics. Believe me, I’ve had my fill of people like you. Perhaps if Romney is selected, it will marginalize you to the cesspool where you belong.

McCain's biggest strength v Obama might be competence. Romney just reeks of competence. Let's not hide our best attributes under a bushel. Anyone will look at McCain-Romney and trust them, because they've done it before, even if they don't agree with them. The contrast with Obama-XXXX will be stark. Attempts to paint them as Bush III will fail except to the moveon.orgers, Kossies, and Huffpoites.

Ok, I'm going on record as a oft-posting McCain-hater. I will say this: If McCain goes full speed ahead with the drilling, and if he picks Romney, I may vote for him.

Because of his age, Senator McCain needs a VP who can step into the Presidency on a moment's notice.

This will also help defuse the 'age issue' that the Democrats constantly raise.

Of all the names bandied about, only one leaves no doubt about his ability to do so: Mitt Romney.

Say again(and again and again)--a voice in the wilderness. The GOP needs life, it needs spark and it needs to demonstrate that it can move into the 21st century. The Dems have those qualities in spades even though they often support it with candidates they vett more for vote potential than real talent.(fill in your own names please).Sarah or Condi can do just that. They both have what it takes to run the country should that be needed, they have vitality, intelligence, doggedness etc etc etc. They can give the time worn old GOP image the elan it needs to bring in young and independent voters while not scarificing most values it holds dear. Pawlenty and Romney both fine men with good credentials who would make good VP's but they are both same ole, same ole. Let's turn a page?
