Video: Week 1 of the GOP convention buildout
posted at 7:13 am on July 28, 2008 by Ed Morrissey
As promised, the Republican convention committee produced some time-lapse video of the construction work at the Xcel Energy Center in St Paul to show the progress of the convention’s build-out. Last week, I attended their kickoff and interviewed a few officials, who talked about the scope of the project. The changes made in this first week make the scope a little more apparent:
The extent of the changes makes one wonder how they’ll get it changed back in time after the convention. They have two weeks after the event finishes to restore the arena back to its original state. Some hockey fans will be looking for the RNC if their seats aren’t ready by the time the puck drops ….

They can use that overhead score board as a countdown clock to the next time Obama flip-flops on an issue.

There sure are a lot of seats for the event. Is Maverick going to have ICE bring a few bus loads of illegals to the Big Show to fill the seats of the conservatives that aren’t going?

The GOP picked the convention center with the right name.

Funny. Does the campaign have a theme song yet?

“by the time the ‘puck’ drops ….”
That’s not how Govner Timmy phrased it at a game last year.
