Video: The forbidden Mr. T “Snickers” ad

In Britain it drew exactly two complaints, with anecdotal evidence indicating that gays were laughing it off in good humor. In the U.S., where it hasn’t even aired? Outrageously outrageous outrage, prompting Mars to cut its losses and torpedo the campaign. Behold the newest frontier of homophobia — a washed-up 80s action hero belittling your masculinity by tossing candy bars and encouraging you to, er, “get some nuts.”

Mr. T may be washed up

I pity the fool who thinks that.

Apparently he is a better shot with the Snickers gatlin gun than he ever was with a machine gun. I never saw the A-team hit anyone although they went through about a million rounds trying.

Just posted a comment on the Mars Corp comments form.

Mars corp recently pulled an ad for their Snickers candy bar that features the television star Mr. T, with the tag line “Get Some Nuts”. Apparently there were complaints from various gay rights groups in the United States that the ad was homophobic.

Having seen the ads, I can attest that they are without a doubt NOT homophobic in any way, unless one considers being “unmanly” to be a homosexual attribute, which we have been told by Gay Rights groups IS homophobic. I personally find it rather ironic that Gay Rights groups are using what is supposedly a homophobic thought process to condemn an ad as homophobic. This seems contradictory.

I would like to request that Mars corp reconsider it’s decision to pull the “Get Some Nuts” ad campaign. It is a very funny campaign with a tremendous amount of potential to sell Snickers candy bars and to raise public consciousness about the Mars brand as a whole.

So, to the people in responsible for pulling the Mr. T ad, I would say: Get Some Nuts! Play the ads, fool!

You can find the form HERE.

Be nice!

Mr.T must be raking in the big bucks cause these commercials are funny as hell. I’m eating a snickers bar right now- for breakfast. Someone e-mail Mars Co. and let them know that if that last one airs in the USA, their sales will fly. If not, I pity the fool.

shame on U.S.

the saddest part is that U.S. corporations just accept the pc crap and knee-jerkedly amend their plans…

I know quite a few speedwalkers, and none of them, including myself, is gay, as far as I know.

I first saw the video outside of the context of the “gay story” and chuckled. It was not until the gay activists told me that the speedwalker in the commercial is what gay men look like that I mentally associated homosexual with the commercial. I think I was confused because none of my gay friends over the years have ever looked or acted like that speedwalker. But now I know. Men who speedwalk and wear somewhat tight yellow shorts with a pseudo-70s haircut are gay. The next time I see one I will yell, “Hello gay man!” and wave (but not too friendly like to give the wrong idea). I am so very happy that the homosexual activists have once again brought gay into issue where it wasn’t inherent to many. Actually I think the most gay part of all this is their complaint.

So I suppose “Hellooooo, Sailor!” is out, then?

Ah, the “champions” of free speech strike, again. NOT!

Wildcatter1980 on July 29, 2008 at 12:06 PM

Mr T yelling “Get Some Nuts” should go viral with spoofs. How about McCain apologizing for some comment someone made about Obama when suddenly Mr T breaks in and yells “Get Some Nuts, Fool!”

AverageJoe on July 29, 2008 at 12:23 PM

Mmmmm…yo lookin’ mighty fine in dem jeans, boy.

Wyznowski on July 29, 2008 at 12:27 PM

Looks like you can personalize it, too bad I don’t have an AP photo to make him the power-walker!

I like it better with the A-Team theme music and altered tag line. “Get some nuts, b!tch!”

Here is the clean version.

clghitis on July 28, 2008 at 9:41 PM

Am I wrong or is that soccer player Alan Tudyk from Firefly (he played Wash)? Sure looks like him. Of course, seems these days I see him everywhere (he was in Knocked Up, as well).

Please don’t clinch-up yo’ butt cheeks.

gzelmiami on July 29, 2008 at 12:49 PM

that made me laugh. It’s almost as good as the VAULT commercials…soooo good.

spacekicker on July 29, 2008 at 1:19 PM

Truth in advertising at last

LimeyGeek on July 29, 2008 at 1:49 PM

I can’t see the video, but since it’s pissed off the over-the-top-gay crowd, I assume it’s from Eddie Murphy’s “Raw” concert? “Hey boy.
HEY BOY! Ya look mighty cute in ‘dem jeans”.

rjwest21 on July 29, 2008 at 3:12 PM

Was that a “hate crime,” oh the chip on my shoulder.

The A-Team did him kill people on purpose, they tries to capture people not kill them.. killing them is against the law..
