Nope, it doesn’t fly. Just go to the Randi forums and you will see why. The AGW folks there just pull out the “I don’t recognize him as a legitimate scientist” or “follow the money trail” and the always popular “he’s just a shill for big oil”. It doesn’t matter who the scientist is or what their credentials are because if they have an uncle’s cousin’s friend’s sister that dated a guy that applied at Exxon 40 years ago then they are in the pocket of big oil and can not be trusted to tell the truth about AGW.
They are supposed to be skeptics but in reality they border on religious frenzy when it comes to AWG. The IPCC report is their bible, the UN their Vatican, Manning their prophet and Gore their savior.

The trick is to cut down the tree in it’s prime and turn it into furniture. That way the tree doesn’t rot and the carbon remains trapped in the wood. So what we have is the answer to global warming. What? You don’t want me to cut down trees?

But you need to put yourself in the mind of the average person/citizen who has been told “scientific consensus on GW”. This episode, similar to the mocking of creationists, is only preaching to the choir. So, while I am on their side on this one, as a creationist I recognize how the “other side” could shrug this off completely.

Did you follow my link? It was very plain, even for the very uninformed on the matter. This is the point that needs to be made to those who have been sucked in. The P&T piece is humorous for those of us who recognize the nonsense already… but the goal is to wake up others.

But these people are mainstream warmists. And humor is much more effective, in any case.
Mocking them is simply much more time-efficient than trying to make sense and get into scientific minutia about polar bears or microscopic 1 millimeter-per-year ocean level rises or shrinking or growing glaciers or any of that other stupid meaningless shit. The 6-10 trillion dollars these scumbags are trying to shake us down for is all the evidence that needs to be shown.
Just show the public the crooked money-grubbing freak show behind this scam, and it’ll fall apart under its own accord.

Granted, I don’t like how they handled the Creation/Evolution debate by mocking just a handful of people, building a number strawmen, misrepresenting what most of us believe, etc. But I can see global warmists making that same case against this presentation. In both cases, I wish science was being dealt with, not mocking of eccentric people. That’s what’s really BULLSH**!
