Obama to Iran: Don’t wait for me on those nuke negotiations
posted at 7:31 pm on July 25, 2008 by Allahpundit
I can’t tell if this is supposed to be a comment on Bush or on himself. Is he actually acknowledging that Iran might be holding out in hopes of a sweetheart deal from a left-wing Disney administration next year? Or does he simply mean to say that they might have given up on reaching any accommodation with Bush? If the latter, it’s a weird judgment to render right now, less than two weeks after the first face-to-face nuclear chitchat between the two sides this decade.
U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama said on Friday Iran should not wait for the next administration to halt its uranium enrichment program.
Speaking at a joint news conference with French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris, Obama said Iran should accept the trade and technical incentives the six world powers have offered in exchange for ending its uranium enrichment.
“Iran should accept the proposals that President Sarkozy and the EU 3 plus 3 are presenting now. Don’t wait for the next president because the pressure, I think, is only going to build,” he said.
He’s not so presumptuous as to refer to himself, but given that he said this during a de facto state visit, I’ve got a hunch he’s not thinking of McCain. If you missed it in Headlines last night, read Time’s assessment of the likelihood of an Israeli strike on Iran. According to a former “top” Mossad official, they’re leery to do anything before the election because “No Israel leader wants to be blamed for destroying the Republican chances” — which, considering how many Israelis view Iranian nukes as an existential threat, says a lot. Possible window of attack, per Time’s sources: After the election but before the inauguration. Not the first time we’ve heard that suggested.

Obama is the AntiChrist, so I wonder where the first Nuke will hit.
Iran, Pakistan or Isreal? Any takers?
You heard it here first!

Some godd**n fool once said that flanks have got to be secure. Since then sonofab*****s all over the globe have been guarding their flanks. I don’t agree with that. My flanks are something for the enemy to worry about, not me. Before he finds out where my flanks are, I’ll be cutting the bast**d’s throat. – George S. Patton

Don’t like that? How about
McCain is the anti-Obama

What time do the polls close in Hawaii? Sounds like as good a scramble time as any…

Well as I was going off the smart butt for the day, I may have won it … who knows. But it wasn’t suppose to be a “tick off Allah or Ed” day. :|
And the Anti-Obamessiah works better I think!
upinak on July 25, 2008 at 7:42 PM
Well thank God Iran now knows it shouldn’t wait to do something it says it will never do.

The Messiah is going to force Mad Mahmoud listen to him speak without a teleprompter?
MrScribbler on July 25, 2008 at 7:45 PM
Oh come on.
The AntiChrist is a soft, sensitive, hen-pecked, little wussy apologist?
OK, maybe.

I think we need something more. Unforetunatly, most the youngin’s won’t understand it totally.

This sentient, Allah, is actually really sort of pervasive in some sentiments out there. I have definitely run across it more than I’ve encountered the Obama-is-a-Muslim crowd, though there is some significant crossover.
And, actually, I don’t have think it’s that bad of a sentiment. The notion that he is the antichrist stems from the adulation and unthinking support he gets from people who have no idea what his issues are, and don’t care. In a lot of Christian circles, this is the way the coming of the antichrist has been imagined to happen.

It won’t happen period…not before the election, before inauguration day, not after Barry is in office..especially after Barry is in office. Bush is giving ground to Barry in the hopes that it will somehow help McCain…of course it won’t, but Bush was never that good at politics to begin with. And Barry is just having some fun with this statement…like everything else he says, nobody knows what the hell he’s talking about.
Israel is now more alone than ever…and they know it.

Before Obama can tear down that wall the Israeli’s will have removed the roofs, windows, doors, and kitchen sinks.
Soon. Before the election. Olmert is out in September and Barak and Levi have been preparing the political battlefield for a strike against Hezbollah for the last two months. They have run a parade along the northern border to the Italian FM, French FM, Sarkozy, Brown, Blair, Rice, Obama, and McCain, pointing out Hezbollah positions and outlining how the U.N. does nothing to stop them.

I meant it as a joke, and Allah, I am pretty sure, knows it.
Lighten up.

Got in late on an earlier thread, but I do want to point out that we are comparing Obama to the wrong Disney character. He doesn’t look like Mickey Mouse. Take a good look at Dopey. You’ll see the resemblance immediately.

Well, if somebody does strike Iran, it’ll be the Israelis who do it…without US help…and they will be condemned by the US for it…but my point is that the US will do nothing now. The window is closed. Their best bet would be inauguration day though…that way, the US diplomatic beating on Israel comes from Obama and not Bush.

Obama Fever? Just counted 14 articles covering Obama on the Hotair Front Page.

Doesn’t take much.
And I think that Anti-Obamessiah is teh cool.
wise_man on July 25, 2008 at 8:19 PM
And 14 NEGATIVE articles covering Obama.
carbon_footprint on July 25, 2008 at 8:22 PM
No, you’re right. Barry IS some sort of combined Hitler/Satan/Cthulu-type creature.
Which means I will find it hard to vote for him.
Rhinoboy on July 25, 2008 at 8:30 PM
Didn’t Iran tell the IAEA that they were through cooperating (as if they ever did) yesterday?
This is a truly bizarre statement by BO. Did one of Iran’s whacky “negotiators” run off at the mouth and say they were waiting to deal with the messiah when he got elected? And word got back to Barry, maybe through Sarkozy?
That would be delicious, wouldn’t it? Mr. “No Conditions” running off at the mouth messes up the Euros fondest, eternally renewable, hope for peace with Iran?
Nichevo on July 25, 2008 at 8:31 PM
Well he certainly sounds like Dopey.

157,000,000 for obama. (0.57 seconds)
75,200,000 for mccain. (0.23 seconds)
Google search results.
The sad thing about that is that “mccain” is a much more common name than “obama”.
28,800,000 for osama. (0.41 seconds)

Iran,has attempted world dominance,twice since
the 3rd century, now what makes anyone think
that the Persian Empire is going to give up
the ultimate power,besides,I guess,their Allah!
So what makes Obama, our modern day version of
Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain!
Your telling me,the little white paper, with
imwearingadinnerjacketnutcase signature on it
will end in everlasting peace?

LOL! Obama actually makes war more likely. I wonder what Libs would say if they could grasp the counter-intuitiveness of that likelihood. Would their fear of war override their fear of McCain?
elduende on July 25, 2008 at 9:24 PM
Actually, it’s just a momentary statement of frustration on Obama’s part – “Hey, I wish it were different but they keep saying I have to go through this whole “election” thing. And then I even have to wait until January fer chrissake to do anything!
Look, MahMan, I got my transition team in place. I’ll have ‘em get up with you next week. Is that a solid?…”
eeyore on July 25, 2008 at 9:28 PM
Sarkozy probably made him say that. Politics. He’s pro US.
PattyJ on July 25, 2008 at 9:46 PM
I don’t think so… at all.
The Anti-Christ would not need a teleprompter to give a rousing speech… or even express a simple concept.

Obama resembles DUMBO!!! Its the ears, ya know!

Moving, forceful, convincing.
I cannot imagine how the Iranians would pass up this opportunity.

There, I said it.

Somebody needs to remind His Holiness, Pope Obama, that he is NOT President of the United States of America. The current President is one George W. Bush.
IF (and that’s a *big* if) he becomes elected, then he can pontificate to Iran as much as he wants.
In the mean time, the Justice Department should consider charging Pope Obama under the Logan act for this trip.
