What exactly is “our cause”, Mr. Obama? Do you have such a thing in your repertoir, or is it another amorphous thing, like your “positions”???

OBAMA: I think, as I said before, preparation is actually absolutely critical in any meeting. And I think it is absolutely true that either of us would step back from some of the Bush unilateralism that’s caused so much damage.

But I do think it is important precisely because the Bush administration has done so much damage to American foreign relations that the president take a more active role in diplomacy than might have been true 20 or 30 years ago.

Because the problem is, if we think that meeting with the president is a privilege that has to be earned, I think that reinforces the sense that we stand above the rest of the world at this point in time. And I think that it’s important for us in undoing the damage that has been done over the last seven years, for the president to be willing to take that extra step.

OBAMA: That is the kind of step that I would like to take as president of the United States.

Where’s the red line on negotiations? Is there one?

More importantly, since he says “If I think I can get a deal that is going to advance our cause…” whose cause is “our” cause? Is it America’s cause? The UN’s cause? Europe’s cause? The Arabs’ cause? Israel’s cause? The Palestinians’ cause? (Yeah, I know McCain can’t go there, because he’d be questioning the Patriotissssm!)

As far as the “preconditions” bit goes, it’s more effective as example of yet another Orwellian twist of language in the Obama-speak maze of illogically logical saying of whatever-it-is-you-want-to hear. In other words, nothing.

If you’re into watching other people play games, rather than participtaing, you might as well watch the best. Why watch women? Shorter, weaker.

Republicans can win this thing if they only hammer 2 issues:

1-Oil Drilling. Make the whole D party culpable in the ‘no drilling’ side of the equation. Their generic ballot numbers are falling slightly because of this already. Push it. Highlight democrat 50 cent gas taxes, etc. It’s not difficult. The ads write themselves.

2-Obama wouldn’t have supported the surge even knowing it would have been successful. McCain needs to highlight this every time he gets a chance. Obama wanted defeat for political reasons. Party first. Country second.

RNC could really pull this thing out of the crapper if they did this. But they won’t. And they’ll lose.

He tied progress in stopping Iran’s march to weapons, to progress in solving the Palestinian issue, buttressing it by saying that that is why from day one he would make the Palestinians a priority, further tossing in the lack of hope felt in palestinian areas to global problems, the old canard of terrorism caused by a lack of Obama messiahmania..

I’ve heard this argument before, in 2004, 2005, 2006 regarding Iraq, it was a central theme of the now proven to be total crap Iraq Study Group proposals, which suggested that without capitulation to the Palestinians and pressure on israel, no progress in Iraq was possible, the path to Iraq led through Jerusalem is what they said.

Yet, nothing has materialized with the Palestinians, in fact the situation vis a vis Hamas has worsened, yet Iraq has had a marvelous turn about. Basically Obama has taken this canard then, and applied it now to us AGAIN in Israel. Now progress with Iran leads through the Palestinian territories, meaning we should concede in Israel..

Well I would answer Obama good luck with that, stop dropping these problems on us, stop blaming the savages in Islam on us, and if that is your strategy get ready for a BIG war in Iran Mr. Commander in Chief.
