[...] Last July, a Hillary Clinton supporter doing oppo research on Obama dug up a birth announcement in the Honolulu Advertiser from August 1961 that noted Obama’s birth in Hawaii. The Honolulu Star-Bulletin has also found one in its own archives from that month: Theories that Obama was born abroad abounded during the presidential campaign, even after an official Hawaii birth certificate was produced, along with August 1961 birth notices from two Honolulu newspapers. Numerous lawsuits and emergency appeals were lodged challenging Obama’s eligibility to be president, and all were rebuffed. [...]

Two thoughts:

If the Clinton's didn't find it, it's not there. I want him gone, also, but;

This is being encouraged by the Rahmbo machine while Socialized Medicine is being slipped down our throat.

THE QUESTION IS NOT THE BIRTHCERTIFICATE
.
THE QUESTION IS WHAT IS ON THE BIRTHCERTIFICATE THAT MAKES THEM HIDE IT AS IF IT IS A NATIONAL SECRET
.
NOT MARRIED PARENTS, GET REAL, BIG DEAL
.
DOCTOR? HMM
.
RELIGION? HMMM
.
NO FATHER MENTIONED ON THE CERTIFICATE?
.
LAST NAME ON CERTIFICATE IS HIS MOTHERS?
.
.
WHAT THE f* IS SO IMPORTANT TO HIDE FROM US?

[...] I wish I had something more to contribute than paste, but Philip Klein at The American Spectator kills it: Up until now, I have never posted about President Obama’s birth certificate, because I don’t want to give those who claim he is not a U.S. citizen the attention they so desperately seek. I don’t even want to describe the matter as a “controversy,” because to do so suggests that there is a serious dispute over Obama’s place of birth. To any sane human being, there is no controversy. Obama has produced anauthentic certificate of live birth from the state of Hawaii that clearly shows he was born on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii at 7:24 p.m. State officials have confirmed the document as legitimate and have stated that such facts would have to be verified by the state before they appear on the document. And if that isn’t enough, the fact is corroborated by a contemporaneous newspaper birth announcement. [...]

I have no idea where Obama was born but I invariably recognize a weak argument when I see one. AP's lack of logic is pathetic. He's grasping at straws.

The birth announcement proves only that Obama's birth was announced. If he had been born in Idaho the birth announcement would have appeared in the community where Obama's parents ordinarily resided - Honolulu.

The issue is not where his parents ordinarily resided at the time of his birth but where he was born. Give us the long form birth certificate with the name of the hospital and doctor and stop insulting our intelligence by suggesting that it's case closed because of a birth announcement.

This "proof" would only convince someone who isn't very bright or whose mind is closed on this issue.

OMG! I apologize for bringing asstrollogee into this but BO does fit the Leo mold/stereotype. The 'deeper' perspective is that everyone has the choice of aspiring to higher or lower aspects of human nature. Barry, like Billy Jeff, is an ego-centered rather than heart-centered Leo. All that's missing is a (big) mane of hair...It's strange how I've been longing to see him with a big, fat 'fro. ;-)

Sorry, probably shouldn’t have used the word ignorant. And I think this whole thread is a hoot; tremendous entertainment value! But what if O’Bama’s father was really Bill Cosby… or Bill Bixby? Wouldn't want a giant green President when he gets angry would we? And what’s an EBI? Is that another African name? Oh, and I’m intrigued by this Two Obamas theory. I think there might be something to it after all.

Seriously folks, the difference between accepting that Obama, Sr. got a divorce before remarrying and McCain doing so is a matter of digestibility. But again, the issue is not whether Obama is illegitimate (I really don’t think anyone would vote against someone who would be a good President just because of circumstances of his birth) or whether he was raised a Muslim or was a British subject at birth. The issue is that Obama has written about himself in two books, has a long record of modifying his personal and political history to fit political expediency, and has made his campaign hinge on his identity and character; particularly his other-worldly, essentially socio-religious, qualities such as uniting, hoping, changing, being different and making us different.

So, insofar as he has not technically won the election yet, I think it’s highly significant whether the identity he presents of himself (as something other than an at-times angst-ridden, sometimes-white, sometimes-black, Arabic-speaking Christian; a self-made man from humble roots, raised by Martha and Jonathan Kent, with a racist black pastor, a terrorist white colleague and a dirty, Chicago-style grafter for a friend who in the end weren’t the men he thought he knew) really represents who he says he is.

In other words, in this election year of Identity Politics, I would like to know Obama’s true identity. It might make a good game show, too: Guess Obama’s Identity! The winner is awarded an ambassadorship to Chad.

I have successfully lived my life by the axiom engendered in the following near-quote of Clemens: When I find myself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect (voting for Regan aside).

The problem with the global warming conspiracy-by-majority crisis, as well as all other examples of the railroading of public thought, is that debate is argued to be pointless, counterproductive, misguided and ultimately harmful.

Now, the Right-On blogosphere is joining the Left in chastening the right-wing skeptics (and proud we are) for finding deception in Obama's presentation of his COLB.

I am certain that to Obama there is a significant problem with his BC since (1) he hasn't presented it and (2) everyone insists it's a non-issue. I'm not a 'truther', but when someone suggests that I am one and he uses illogical arguments (or just very poor thinking skills) to label me as one, then I expect that I am probably right.

Further, labeling the COLB issue a conspiracy only drags in the true conspiracy buffs and further muddies the issue.

Remember, Dan Rather's argument was that the truth of the allegation was more important than the authenticity of the evidence. In this case you all are arguing that if the docs are authentic then the allegation must be false. But clearly in this instance one truth is being put forward to obscure another, more significant, truth.

Leave the investigators to their work and stop calling them 'truthers' lest you become the ignorant status quo that you denigrate.

If he won't produce the official birth certificate then there's something to hide. Have the DEMs surpassed their stupidity at nominating Al Gore and then John freakin Kerry by nominating someone who isn't even eligible to be POTUS? Probably

Today's audience was also made up of almost all women, but the crowd in the more affluent university area was more mixed. Participants mentioned college-loan payments and day-care fees as monthly costs that drive them to scrimp and cut corners.

Obama used the roundtable audience, as she did yesterday, to describe her husband's understanding of women's issues through the prism of the strong -- but sometimes struggling -- women in his life.

His own mother, she said at the beginning of her remarks, was "very young and very single when she had him." And, Obama added, he has observed his wife's attempts to reconcile motherhood with her career aspirations.

So was he Born Barry Dunham?

and later Changed To Barack Obama?

Chew on Obama's Berlin speech.

He references America's IMPERFECTIONS, specifically dealing with immigrants and official persecution of black Americans.

How might he be framing his coming argument vs. Constitutional requirements made of black sons of immigrants who do not meet legal prerequisites for POTUS?

CITIZENS OF THE WORLD!
Marxism, blatant, pure and simple.
UN revisionism, remake the world in Marx's image.
Trounce one bit of the US Constitution, and watch the rest find its demise as the founding principles are no longer respected or even RECOGNIZED by those powers promoting Obamarx.

It’s a non-story. He was born in the US, he’s elible to run. There’s plenty of legitimate issues upon which to go after Obama; to persue this based on the unfounded hope that there’s something minorly embarassing on his birth certificate makes his opposition look desperate and nutty.
