Barack will never allow you to go back to your old lives and your old gaffes.

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of BO’s gaffes?
BTW, I have a list of his flip-flops. Did I miss any?

“You know, it’s always a bad practice to say ‘always’ or ‘never.’”

He only left out the correct finish – Q.E.D.

Maybe he’ll get it next time. I hear those Harvard Law Review Presidents are pretty swift folks.

SouthernGent on July 22, 2008 at 10:42 PM

Nothing deranged about that. It’s really OFS – Obama Familiarity Syndrome.

progressoverpeace on July 22, 2008 at 10:43 PM

I really didn’t say everything I said.

The future ain’t what it used to be.

jgapinoy on July 22, 2008 at 10:45 PM

Let’s face it, people on either side read the blogs, have their minds made up, and aren’t on the fence, and don’t care how many times a day the foot goes in the mouth. In the “official debates” if McCain sweats like a sponge, or if Obama “uh, uh, uh, err, uhs” enough, I think this election is decided (assuming the debates are carried “live”, a big “if” these days – might be racist or something).

jgapinoy on July 22, 2008 at 10:46 PM

That was some very subtly clever link placement. I like that.

DaveS on July 22, 2008 at 10:47 PM

Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s.”

Lol… After that line, I’m left wondering if Bush is secretly working with him behind the scenes.

*!*!* Gaffeman strikes again! *!*!*

WisCon on July 22, 2008 at 10:50 PM

Obama has these phrases – “As I’ve always said” – “No one has spoken out more fiercely than I” – “Let me be absolutely clear” – where one just doesn’t believe him. One of these days he’ll say “Let me make one thing perfectly clear” and the left will suddenly remember how it felt about Nixon and will have an mind-exploding Obama-Nixon vision.

ForNow on July 22, 2008 at 10:51 PM

“Let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s.”

Funneh.

Someone should compile all of his quotes like this and start a website, maybe even write a book. They can call it

Obamaisms.

(With all of the drug use that Obama has admitted to … I think that his love of weeed has lasted a little bit longer than he admitted.)

“I was concerned about a couple of steps that the Russian government took in the last several days. One was reducing the energy supplies to Czechoslovakia. Apparently that is in reaction to the Czech’s agreement with us concerning missile defense, and again some of the Russian now announcement they are now retargeting new targets, something they abandoned at the end of the Cold War, is also a concern. So we see the tensions between Russia and their neighbors, as well as Russia and the United States are somewhat increasing.”

It doesn’t matter, the MSM have already performed the prossession of the sedia gestatoria on this EU summer of love tour now all that is left is the Coronation. One might note that the real pope must still undergo the base formality of being elected first. Not so the Pope of Dope.

Glad I suggested earlier the fact that Obama made Berra look like a Mensa candidate I have been laughing my arse off reading Yogi-isms all night.

Looking forward to those as well. As some people may have studies in political science classes (I wasn’t old enough to see for myself) when Nixon debated Kennedy, the people who listened on the radio thought that Nixon won. The people watching television thought that Kennedy won.

I certainly hope that McCain is able to overcome Obama’s only true talent, his charm, and when he is off prompter, that McCain both sounds and looks better than Obama. If that’s possible.

*keeps my fingers crossed.*

Reminds me of the stupidest Star Wars quote ever:
Only the Sith speak in absolutes.

Isn’t “only” an absolute?

lorien1973 on July 22, 2008 at 11:36 PM

Upon landing at Baghdad International Airport Mr. Obama took notice of the setting sun on the horizon and stated, “It gets late early out here.”

profitsbeard on July 22, 2008 at 11:37 PM

“Let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s.”

In Girlbama’s mind, since Israel now has a strong friend, it doesn’t need the U.S.

Cicero43 on July 22, 2008 at 11:38 PM

When asked what Mr. Obama hoped to accomplish during his fact finding mission he replied, “You can see a lot just by observing.” When pressed whether he was apprehensive about touring without body armor he stated, “No but I was scared.”

Greenhorn on July 22, 2008 at 11:20 PM

He will stall for time and avoid them, possibly all those which would not be moderated and intensely prepared. He will not hold town-hall styled ones. He’s very scripted because he wouldn’t know what to say and he also gets defensive, as the Hillary debate proved. He’ll try to not have any at all.

Entelechy on July 22, 2008 at 11:47 PM

The best of all appropriate Yoggiism’s of all time is… “How long have you known me and you still can’t spell my name?”.

Correct on all accords, the sad reality is that the MSM will back Obama and say that the debates are an outdated forum where too much emphasis is placed on confrontation!

Off topic, but quite amusing.

That headline gets my vote for QOTD.

hillbillyjim on July 23, 2008 at 12:55 AM

Entelechy-

After some political sit-ups, my gut says:

Obama is losing more of his magical gloss with every passing week.

While McCain will retain his mundane crust.

By November, the surge at home will go against Barry.

As close a decision as 2004, with Barack then sourly joining the PGA (Permanent Grievance Association) of loser Gore and loser Kerry.

And a clyster-ama for all.

profitsbeard on July 23, 2008 at 12:58 AM

MB4 on July 23, 2008 at 1:33 AM

That is a bit harsh, considering that once you wash away all of the sh*t, there would be nothing left.

On second thought….

hillbillyjim on July 23, 2008 at 1:38 AM

The main risk being: how to make the candidate look worldly-wise and ready to lead, without appearing arrogant, to the watching American voter.

From your link hillbillyjim – great read. The sane American voter has figured this out already, that he is an arrogant and empty canvas. The trip will backfire, not right away, and not with the media.

It seems that the MSM’s slavish treatment of Barack Obama is finally backfiring; more people every day are peeling away the layers only to find no onion at all.

If McCain can keep from contracting Athlete’s Tongue between now and November, he may yet prevail over the Barack Obama Hope and Change Traveling Circus.

hillbillyjim on July 23, 2008 at 1:53 AM

How about “Only time will tell if we can stand the test of time”? That was actually by Van Halen, but it’s lame enough to sound like Obama.

I’ll never take THE HARVARD LAW REVIEW seriously again.

S on July 23, 2008 at 6:07 AM

I noticed that the only time Obama got “emotional” (in what we’ve been “allowed” to view from his World Ego Tour) (and obviously upset — he showed real annoyance) was when he was asked yesterday about the Surge and General Patraeus. Obama seemed really burned that Patreaus would be being taken seriously, or given respect, Obama retorted with apparent need to demean Patraeus.

S on July 23, 2008 at 6:10 AM

“Yogi Berra of Politics” That’s funny.

wallyqc on July 23, 2008 at 6:21 AM

Obamaisms.

I deemed them “OBAMABONICS” a while ago.

But the issue of bad ethics should be communicated in whatever term is used for “them” because that’s the essence of the problem, Obama and bad ethics, or, Obama and reckless hyper-confidence, arrogance that’s created IN HIS OWN MIND a larger than real personna. Thus, his ridiculous, elaborate speech that oftentimes never actually says anything but covers what he obviously does not know, OR, doesn’t want anyone else to know he’s intending (which is, again, indicative of bad ethics, deceit).

“Presidential Hopeful Obama, How do you envision Israel?”

Let me be absolutely clear. You know, it’s always a bad practice to say ‘always’ or ‘never.’ Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. But that is not the Israel I knew. I never said that Israel is always a strong friend of Israel’s. Let me be absolutely clear, you know. Uh, that’s like question number 8, or uh, was that 3, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, well that takes care of number 2, a difficult question to answer. I’ve made myself absolutely clear. Uh.
