Alphie, the debate here hinges on the surge. Nothing more. Without the success of the surge (if Obama’s plan had been followed) Iraq would be a hell-hole now. This is Liberman’s point. If you don’t understand why that it, read Michael Yon’s book. (Please don’t just dismiss him. He’s been writing from and living in Iraq longer than most soldiers have been there and he is completely apolitical)

Richard Clarke worried that Osama would “boogie to Baghdad” if we invaded Afghanistan. Interesting. “Clarke�s opinion was based on intelligence indicating a number of contacts between al Qaeda and Iraq, including word that Saddam had offered bin Laden safe haven.”

The 9/11 report cites Clarke’s words from 1999 when he was serving in the Clinton Administration.

Do historical facts have relevance to you only when they fit your narrative? Is it common practice for Obamatrons to delete inconvenient details as “distractions”?

Heh, I just saw a commenter at freerepublic refer to the adolescent candidate as Backtrack Obama. The label fits.

Yeah, that was way over the top, ‘blame America first’, I’m starting to see this everywhere now. It is hard for many people in other countries to wrap our heads around this, seeing as America is only the greatest country on Earth and the envy of the planet.

People think that Europe et al hate the USA, it’s not hate.. It is more like jealousy or envy. American culture, American Military power, American economics – This is a heck of tri-fecta, I can’t blame other peoples, but it is hard for me to understand how this occurs within America itself in such large numbers.
