Behold the wages of a few too many “inartful” policy statements, courtesy of the conservative 501(c)(4) Let Freedom Ring. It’s a nice try but too ambitious, I think: To convince people that a guy touted in the press as the avatar of a new brand of politics is talking out of both sides of his mouth, you need to provide specifics. I know what they mean when they say he’s trying to have it both ways on guns and Iraq but even I came away with a gut feeling of, “C’mon, he can’t be that bad.” Better to have hit him on one of these issues and supplied details or else spun it out to a minute and explained all three.
Exit question: Per ABC’s new standard by which all political discourse must conform to the standards of the most hypersensitive, disingenuous leftist idiots, the title of the ad is clearly a homophobic smear, yes? Click the image to watch.

I agree the execution is slightly subpar, but the message is clear enough, and at least includes “source” taglines.
It’s not an ad for a thinking person, which might mean it will cause some unease and question-asking among Osama Obama’s unwashed faithful.
As long as the hammering continues, it can be from tack- and sledgehammers.
I fear it’s too little, too late, though. Obama has already been elected in the minds of the MSM, Hollywood, and the Lunatic Left. Most people will probably accept their call to worship at the feet of The Messiah.

I’ve been noticing an emerging meme that Obama comes across as gay. While I agree that he’s a bit effete and is certainly not a “man’s man,” he doesn’t strike me as gay at all. I think this is another losing line of attack.

I agree that a more specific ad clearly showing the flip vs. flop would be better, but this is a step in the right direction. Hopefully there will be more to come.

So Obama holds two positions at the same time. So does Juan McBernie.
The larger problem is the contradictory ambitions of the McCain campaign. The candidate wants to stand for “leadership, courage, and choices.” Yet he also want to be both a supply-sider and a deficit-hawk. He wants to transform our health care system and Social Security without adding any money to either and without anybody getting hurt. He wants to be a tightwad on spending who doesn’t cut any spending anybody cares about. These are impossible policies to explain, because the policies themselves are impossible. No wonder he ends up talking out of both sides of his mouth.

I also noticed a slight ‘yellowish fading’ in the image still used above, you are clearly a racist Allahpundit. I can’t believe no one else sees the obviousness here, coloring that still ’somewhat yellowish’ by not making sure to have triple checked your adobe color profile for optimum universal barackness is going TOO far.

I meant the gay implications re:Obama are a losing line of attack for those who are floating them. I don’t think the people who made this ad are actually making the accusation, but I have seen it made or implied elsewhere numerous times and with increasing frequency. I also got Allah’s little joke about the subliminal message paranoia, but thanks for pointing it out in case I didn’t. :-)

Yea, i agree nobody should be attacked with gay smears, how ever he can be painted has a wimp, i personally didn’t see that(gay stuff) in this ad.(Maybe thats just me.. I watched it before i read AP’s “editorial” like usual so that his commentary doesn’t persuade my thought.)

Some group should make a commercial focusing solely on Barry O’s opposition to guns (show all his anti-gun votes in Illinois, and a few of his quotes opining on the validity and reasonableness of the D.C. gun ban — before the Supreme Court struck it down), and they should pay to have it played over and over in the Appalachian regions of Ohio, Pa., W.Va., and Va. Working class Dems in that area are already suspicious of Obama, and they love their guns. If Republicans show them just how anti-gun Barry O’s record really is, it could have an impact.

Actually, it’s very simple.
One of the hallmarks of “progressive thought” is the ability to hold two or even more diametrically-opposed opinions simultaneously. Progressives consider this proof of their superior intelligence and Eastern mystical insight compared to the Great Unwashed, who still practice that dreaded, outmoded Western atavism called “linear logic”.
And not only do “progressives” hold multiple contradictory opinions at the same time, they invariably believe that;
1. Each opinion is absolutely, undeniably, 100% true; and
2. That their opinions constitute reality.
Therefore, by “progressive” standards, all this ad does is accuse Obama of being…. a good, loyal “progressive” of above-average intelligence.
Which I am sure George Orwell would have characterised as a “doublegoodthink ducktalker”.
As to his being a metrosexual, the sure test of that is- does he drive an SUV or hybrid through alleys at high speed in preference to using the streets while simultaneously text-messaging and iPodding?
We get transplanted Columbusites doing it around here all the time. In their minds, it’s the hip, trendy, post-modern thing to do- just like voting for Barry.
They are very surprised when their driving habits get them ticketed, especially when those habits culminate in an accident they caused by charging out of the alley onto the street without looking both ways first.

Right. We he can’t really care about his “Marxism” that much if he’s willing to throw it under the bus because it’s an obstacle to his advancement in politics. Why wouldn’t he do the same thing once he’s in office? If his Marxism gets in the way of him consolidating his power, passing legislation etc…why wouldn’t he throw it under the bus then as well? Which is he, a narcissistic political opportunist who just wants power or a Marxist idealogue?

It wasn’t there. The problem is that I responded seriously to a humorous/facetious comment by Allah. He was joking about the left’s paranoia about subliminal messages in ads (such as interpreting the ad’s title “Both Ways Barack” as a gay slur). Instead of treating it as the joke it was, I responded by pointing out that I have actually seen an Obama-seems-gay meme in other places, and increasing in frequency. I took it off-topic, in other words, and I shouldn’t have. My apologies for the confusion.

Is this your first day on the internet? It’s everywhere. Google “Obama” and “gay.” I’m not going to link up any unfounded smear jobs here. But it’s coming from both the right and the left, both credible and not credible sources. Sometimes it’s just a subtle hint that the person thinks Obama is wimpy and effeminate, and sometimes it’s an outright accusation that he had a gay love affair or is bisexual. It simply got to the point that it was impossible not to notice it as a growing meme, just like the “Obama is really a Muslim” meme. That’s all I was commenting on — the fact that it exists, and I think it’s a dumb and counterproductive line of attack. Don’t accuse me of making things up when a 30-second Google search more than proves my point. Why would I want to see an “Obama is gay” meme if I think it’s stupid?

Ok so I did your search, I scanned 5 pages of headings. I did not find one site claiming Obama was gay. There were 2 stances 1)when obama spoke to a gay audience he supported the gay community 2) when he spoke to anti gay audience he was anti gay.
I scanned 5 repeat 5 pages of sites matching “Obama gay”!!!!! not one site claimed he was gay himself. Only you do.

I almost linked a few here for you because you’re so persistent in accusing me of lying or being delusional or whatever it is you’re accusing me of, but then I realized that you must just be messing with me, or perhaps trying to get me to make HotAir look bad by linking up a bunch of junk articles with slimy, unfounded accusations in them. There’s no way you didn’t find any of these links. I’m sorry I’ve somehow made you angry. It’s really not that important, you know. I honestly can’t figure out why you are freaking out about it.
